My GalaxyS5 is running Android Lolipop, and I don't know why, byt my "Contact" app crashes sometimes (once or twice a day).
Anyidea of how I could understand why it crashes ?

try to clear data of the contacts app in : settings>>applications>>all
then try it again

hi guys, i have a problem with my messaging application - it doesn't run anymore :/
yesterday i sent some sms - no problems - now i cant access the application. its just not displayed in the taskmanger. tried to restart my phone, but without success. anyone got a cab-file for me, so i can try reinstalling?
ohh im using open touch 4.0
if u need more information just ask - got no free head right now...^^
update: voice command fails to start too - get an error everytime i restart my phone - no need for voicecommand, but a phone without sms is crap ^^
hmm...i dunno how, but i love self-repairing devices...i switched to another sim-card - same problems - and didnt used the phone for 12 hours or so - NOW it works perfect again - thread can be closed
another problem -.-
while i can start the application and read old messages i cant send new ones :/
i got an error message "Your text message cannot be sent."
any ideas?

though dhd is the best phone i ever had (have iphone,samsung galaxy tab,nokia 900, htc wildfire, se x10i, bb 9780) but i have few problems wanted to know their solution asap...
1. once i create a contact, after few days it by slf make 4-5 duplicate contact...i m really annoyed with this...cz i have to delete them again and again...
2. if a sms conversation is going on...when i reply to sms, and when the person replies me again....his sms is shown before my sms as if he sent me 2 msgs n then i replied...this also annoyes me a lot....its hard to find when the sms came...
3. the worst of all.... in the call history or in contacts or anywhere...sometimes when i touch the dial button after selecting the call...nothing happens....and suddenly after 4-5 it will call that person....damn...many time it happened to me that it called someone whom i wanted to call very urgently...but it never do so....then suddenly it calls....though dhd is very responsive...but i cant figure y it happens...
plz help me guys...i wanna know the solution of all these problems...

I've heard of those issues before with 1.72/74 but not 1.84.
Have you tried a factory reset?
i did....bt m trying once more.....lets c what happens aftr it...
the problem seems to be there only...nothing changed...even after factory reset...my contacts and sms are there....applications are downloaded again...and its giving me the option to link contact...when i likn them its like 8-9 same contact in one......i think factory reset doesnt make it new...what can be done now??

For the SMS problem use a non-stock sms app. Download GoSMS Pro or Handcent SMS. Do not uninstall the stock app but just take out the notification from stock app. I'm using GoSMS and it's better than stock IMO. You can for example backup your SMS to sd with it.
You could also try to use another dialer to correct the call problem. Go Dev team has also Go Contacts that provides you with Go Dialer. I'm using these also
For the contact thing. Have you tried to take off the Syncing of contacts from Accounts&Syncing?
Have you thought about installing a custom rom? There's nothing wrong with your phone, those are plain software issues...

well i dont want to install any custom rom...ill spent a whole day in rooting it thn a new update is gonna be available very soon...thn again ill come to custom rom...that seems to b a complete waste of time...
I had the same issue with the contacts, but once I deleted the duplicates (and not transferring from the old phone since they were already backed up on my google account)
select to view and take off SIM contacts. clears up a lot of the duplicates issues.
Search sms time fix in the market, when installed set it to use phone's time.
fixes the issue. The new 2.36 ruu doesnt fix the time issue.
The DHD will try to merge all your contacts from all your linked accounts. I had a similar problem as HTC Sense for Facebook and Twitter will run alongside the Facebook and Twitter apps. You need to check sync to make sure you don't duplicate accounts. Remove the duplicate accounts could help your problem.

Hi everyone
I don't know why suddenly my messages conversations takes too long like 15 sec to be open!!!? The messages app opens fast but conversations!!!! First I thought its becos I have changed my font but it was the same with default font too after that I thought maybe conversations are too long but the same happens with short conversations too even with 2 or 3 messages.
Is there anyway to find out whats wrong??

You either have too many text messages or you have restored the messages.
yes, i have restored my msgs but it was all fine for past few weeks i have a feeling after installing Buzz launcher or go locker it happened .
maybe i should uninstall them and check out! it could be em hmm ? or should i check for apps which have SMS Premission ? and as i know both of these apps have a request for SMS !!
Edit : after Uninstalling Buzz launcher messages converstation opens as fast as first day ! sh**ty app!!!!!!

I've been using the google phone shortcuts (list of recent calls when I long-press the phone icon). Unfortunately, the recent calls list disappeared and I just get a "add a new contact" when I long-press.
Anyone already had this problem before ?

Try making a few phone calls afterward and see if it reappear..?!

Yes that worked ! Merci bien !
Clearing the data cache made a Google phone update appear in the play store, and after the download my recent calls shortcuts re appeared. Thx !
So my messages app is crashing alot i was on stock oreo and it crashed alot then i install twrp and flashe sac23 s9 port and now it crashes even more cant send or read any messages without crashing my phone is s8 g950fd
