Galaxy S5 G900W8 cant enable LTE (ex. Wind Mobile phone) - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Im not sure if this was discussed about this particular situation.
I recently switched from Wind mobile to Fido which offers LTE connection. Unfortunately Wind disabled Lte network mode And the only mode I can connect to is 3g.
I have rooted the phone and tried various methods on how to enable LTE
including guide on xda how to enable all bands.
The only thing i have not tried is flashing new modem firmware.
Here is my question:
1. Would flashing new modem firmware enable lte network mode?
if so which modem firmware should i use and is there a guide?
2. Would upgrading to new rom solve the issue?
Please help me, thank you for any suggestions.
Senya

Anyone?

U can use videotron or Unknow Firmewire on Sammobile u will get LTE enable already

[Q] Flashing roms

Hi,
I have SGH-M919V and its unlocked.
I am on Bell and want to use LTE. But this model has LTE disabled. when i enable it, cant make phone calls.
I cant seem to flash T mobile modem via odin. there is this secure boot issue. the AUTH: Fails.
I was thinking of installing Bell SGH-I337M rom on my phone. Is that possible? If so, how do I go about doing it?
Thanks!
Since you have a T-Mobile variant you should ask in the sgs4 tmobile forum...
However your problem with lte/phonecalls is likely just an APN issue
To further assist we would need to know which carrier you are using the device on

Hey. thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it.
I've been asking a lot there. No one is answering.
Please help me out, please.
My phone is Canadian variant, originally from WindMobile - SGH-m919V. Wind uses Tmobile freq. = 1700/2100 (AWS) only. No LTE.
I got it unlocked two days ago, and switched over to Bell carrier. Bell uses the other freq and LTE.
When I do force LTE by *#2263# - and enable all LTE, i get LTE speeds. But NO calling or texting. this is with the original Windmobile stock rom. No modification. No root.
I tried to flash Tmobile modem via odin 3.07, didnt work. I used the phone button to load the modem.bin. It gave me AUTH: Fail, secure check fail.
I agree, wrong forum, but we are here to please....
if you have a M919V then you would flash the rom you want, before you boot, flash a tmo m919V kernel, it will boot, manually add your apn settings for your device, it will work with data/wifi/calls.
Good luck....
Hi, im sorry for posting in this forum.
so if I want to flash the bell rom - I337M stock original rom , how do I flash it without booting??
And then how would I flash the tmobile kernel so then I can boot??
I dont mind keeping my current rom - wind stock. But, I want to be able to use LTE like how tmobile has pentaband 3g plus lte.
:/ .

[Q] SM-9006v - Using on t-mobile

Hi,
I just purchased a Galaxy s5 sm-g9006v. This is the chinese unicon Samsung galaxy s5. It's unlocked.
I have a t-mobile sim. The phone works fine but the only problem is that it's only running 2g speeds! and i've been reading and i think it's a problem with the bands the phone is working on.
I've also been reading about changing the firm-ware modem but I need a little help.
My question :
Can I change the bands that my phone is using to t-mobile compatible bands to run hspa+ or lte or 4g ?
If so, is it as simple as flashing flashing t-mobile firmware from sammobile (sm-g900t) to my phone via odin?
And if I can fix it without having to flash the whole original firmware by just flashing the modem (which is 5mb), where can i get the modem for that firmware and how do I flash it alone ?
Thank you

N9005 flash the N9005XXUFNF2 modem ,then cann't use 4G (LTE)

N9005 flash the N9005XXUFNF2 modem ,then cann't use 4G (LTE),even selcect the "LTE Only model" and seach the LTE networks.
Dear all
I encountered a big issue,
My N9005 is Hongkong version.
when i flash the newest modem version N9005XXUFNF2,
then I can not use 4G LTE ,but i used it before.
Even I flash back the N9005ZHUENF1,the issue is the same.
Other two guys also encountered the same issue,
it is the commom issue.
It seems like the "N9005XXUFNF2_Modem" has the 4G Lock, that make the LTE fuction disable.
I cann't selcect the "LTE only" model,
In the seivicemode ,
I cann't selcect any LTE Band,all disabled .
In Mobile networks setting ,if i select the "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" as network mode.
and use manual search networks, only can seach 3G and 2G networks,no LTE networks.
I try a lots of way to solve that, but no works.
So I want get help from you.
Thanks
I think I have the same problem. Before flashing the exact same modem I had 4G in my house. After I have NOTHING. Only 3G.
I have tried flashing other modems, but some of them gives me unknown baseband and unknown imei.
But when I go downtown I can get 4G again, but not in my house.
Have you tried seeing if you can get 4g coverage anywhere at all?
/CK
I tried lots of times,
try different sim card,different place,
because in my home, other phones have 4G signal,
but n9005 even cannot search the 4G networks!
AFAIK, you can't flash a Un-China ROM if you are using China device. (Same thing in Un-China devices, we can't flash China firmware stuff it will probably end up with hardbrick or IMEI lost). Hong Kong ROMs are different from others.
no,I didnot flash note3 Chinese ROM,
the Chinese note3 versions are different from others.
I just flash the European version .
Because i flashed European baseband of n9005 ,than encountered this issue.
pls,help me!

[Q] Enable AWS on 4.4.2?

I am wondering if the AWS unlock method still works on 4.4.2? I followed the procedure with QPST and it worked just fine, but I still can't see any other networks (WIND). I read some stuff about the modem not working anymore with the new version but there was a lot of confusion over carriers and phone models and I did not want to flash the wrong file and break my phone. Thanks

[Q] LTE mode on G900L / Stock G900L Firmware question

Hi, first of all, this phone has been flashed to XtreStoLite ROM, which is based on a G900F firmware. Prior to this, the phone has been unlocked by the shop that the phone was bought. S5 G900L is a Korean model and is meant for the LG U+ network. The phone was able to pick up LTE signal in my country (Brunei).
The phone is unable to pick up LTE signals despite on the Network Mode option, there is an option to select LTE/WCDMA/GSM mode. Is there a code that I can use on the phone dialer so that I can activate LTE?
What I meant is something similar to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-activate-lte-g3-t2819387
I have tried to dial ##3282# but it does not do anything. I think it's only for the Sprint S5.
The same goes for:
To tell what Band on: ----
1. ##debug#
2. enter passcode 777468
3. go to LTE engineering menu

As for my next question:
When I flashed a stock G900L firmware from SamMobile, it won't read my SIM card, and it seems that I have to use a LG U+ SIM card from Korea first. How do I make the phone able to read my SIM card from Brunei?
Bump.

- As for secret code ##3282#: First, the secret code format of Samsung is *#xxxx#, not ##xxxx#. Second, to see ALL AVAILABLE secret codes in your device, install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Secret Codes'. That way you will know the code 3282 does exist or not.
- Regarding LTE signal, may be your phone does not have LTE bands that your network currently supports. To check for what LTE bands your phone has, enter *#2263# and select LTE Band Preference to see a list of supporting bands.
- If the required bands are missing, you may want to add it to your phone? Try this thread if any luck.
