So, here's the story: First, I rooted it. It worked. Then, after couple of days, things started not showing up in apps. Then it got so bad I decided to factory reset. Didn't help. Content not showing up in apps. Then I decided to flash entire image. Downloaded it, newest one, flashed it. Lost root but thing worked. Decided to root again. No content again in apps. Decided to reflash it again. After that, it's stuck on "Connecting to Google..." or "signing in..." but never farther than that. Tried reflashing several times, even with an older image, same. It's worth mentioning that it lagged on "Connecting to Google..." even the first time but made it eventually. Tried Lollirock rom, works, but my keyboard or mouse over usb doesn't work. I'm from Croatia. I don't know what to do anymore. Any advice is welcomed.
Several times I lost connection to google after rebooting nexus player.
I did have network connection but google apps wouldn't work or sync.
In my case it was the date, that would get messed up and go back to 1991.

Hi all. I used to mess with my Nook Color a lot around a year and a half ago but recently was just using it to read and occasionally browse. I'm 99% sure I was working with just a nook which was used with manual nooter, so that I had the Google Play store and Zeam launcher with stock B&N as well. I was having issues with things "not being able to update" so I tried to mess around, only realizing too late that I wasn't really interested in cm10 and wanted to stick with zeam. Since then I've been trying to get back to how I started but I'm failing miserably. I've so far tried wiping/factory resetting my device. Installing cm7 from zip, resetting everything using the guide here and installing 1-4-1 cam oc zip from here and still I fail. I can get into the set up screen, but when the device will not find any wifi signal and then freeze without allowing me to type it in under "other". Honestly I'm not sure what else to do now. I just want my nooted device back -__-.
Please let me know if I can submit any more information that can help solve this problem. Thank you for your time.
I'm literally infinitely stuck staring at this screen.
Managed to fix everything. Used section A15. Enjoy anyone who ran into similar trouble.
So as of today, the WiFi on my family's Nexus 7 tablet no longer wants to enable. Upon doing a factory reset, we found we could no longer get past the "Select a network" screen. It just got stuck on the message "Turning on wifi". There was no skip button as there would be usually and nothing else could be pressed. I suspect a hardware issue, because I've tried many solutions and the closest I've come is just making the device work again. It was unrooted at the time of the issue. When recovery was accessed we were met with a "No command" message.
So the first thing I did was get to work on re-flashing the device. I started back with the original OS from Google's stock ROMs. Fastboot worked great, but I was still facing the same problem on first run of the device. The wifi simply would not enable. After this, however, the recovery menu seemed to have fixed itself. Through this I did a reset process as well...with no results.
The last thing I tried, which restored basic functionality to the device, was installing the Paranoid Android custom ROM. At this point, you could access regular apps and other things. I reinstalled the Gapps and the device was back to normal, with the exception of the wifi. The wifi is a big reason we use the tablet. It would be preferable to find a fix, as we would rather not have to replace something that only has one problem.
As of now, the device is rooted, with superuser on Paranoid Android 4.4.2.
Anyways, I really hope there's a solution to this. It's a great tablet.
Okay guys, I need your help. I wanted to return to complete stock and update to newest version. So I downloaded a stock ROM and let it flash the stock recovery. I got a notification for 4.3 update and went ahead and flashed that sucker. During the installation, up popped "Error". It stayed frozen on that screen, so I hard rest it, and restarted my nexus. Well, the installation went through fine. Disabled super user and went about trying to force the 4.4.2 update. Sure enough that kicked in as well. Now, I also got the error on installation of that as well, but this time, when I rebooted, it was still 4.3. I've gone through it about 10 times now. And it gives me the error every single time and remains 4.3. I did a little googling and found out how to get there error log, and it says unexpected content in boot animation.zip.
Unfortunately one of my data pins is busted in my Nexus's USB port, so connecting to PC is not an option for me. Plus my PC is down for the count until I can get a new motherboard in her. Is there anyway to obtain root without connecting to a PC on 4.3 or at least get the update to take?
Is there possibly anyway to wirelessly adb from another android device? Would that even help in my situation?
I've tried " root master" and it seemed to work, even made the Chinese root permissions manager(as a system app) for me, but I can't grant access to anything, nor am I even give the option to. Also, when I tried that, it kicked SuperSU out of system and into regular old data apps.
I suppose I can just stick with 4.3, but if you guys could, I'd love some help.
Guys,
I'm not even sure where to start with what I'm seeing, but maybe you can help me.
I have had Timur's ROM on my N7 2012 for a couple years. It's been crashing randomly, even though I have few things installed on it, and a good power supply. I took it out of my car and put it on an iPad 2 amp supply, and it still crashed a bunch so I knew I needed to wipe and reinstall. I also wanted to go from 4.2.2 to 5+, which I know takes away a lot of the good features I need (like power on/deep sleep).
I booted into TWRP and wiped my tablet, which appeared to softbrick it (I think I have the usage right from searching). I downloaded the Pure Nexus 6.0.1, CM13, and already had Autodroid ROMs to use. I tried to install Pure through ADB sideload, and got it installed. When I finished and tried to reboot, it said I had no OS. When I rebooted, I got the boot animation, and nothing else.
Long story short, I tried Autodroid and CM13, and using CM13 I got it back going. Unfortunately, every time I try to flash another ROM over it, it will no longer go past the boot screen. With CM13, it boots properly, but doesn't like the gapps pico I tried to install (error message when booted, keeps returning to the same pop up error).
I'm quite sure there's something I'm missing, but I don't know what it is.
Thanks!
Eric
Ok, before anyone goes nuclear on me, I think I better understand what happened. When I got ANYTHING to work, I stopped doing anything. As I understand, it wasn't functioning...it was just in a temporary mode of some sort.
After not being able to get it to work properly, I used this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781250 to try and restore the system. I followed all the directions, except for using the 5.1.1 version of the ROM, and used the corresponding file name for the zip file used.
After doing so, the bootloader won't go to TWRP, but goes to the pic as seen below. I did reboot the tablet, and after waiting quite a while, the tablet came on, but I don't understand what that picture means.
Thanks!
Eric
Ok...I realized that I lost root. I'm fixing it now. I had read before, but didn't understand what I saw.
Thanks,
Eric
This is a pretty weird one, so I'm gonna cut to the chase...
Several weeks ago I got my a new phone (Galaxy s7 Edge, AT&T, Qualcomm) and everything was fine. I'd never rooted a phone before and wanted to try it out, even though the Edge was still pretty new. After about 2-3 weeks of owning my phone, I followed a guide to root. The root only worked after a factory reset, so I lost my apps and pictures, but it wasn't a big deal because it was just a couple weeks' worth of stuff. Everything works fine for a month or so, and then most of the apps started crashing. Some, like Google Chrome or Spotify would work, but most didn't. All the services on my phone also stopped. I figured it was a problem with the root and said oh well and factory reset my phone. I set it up normally again and all was well. But then things got weird.
Now, after about 1 week, my phone will do the same thing as when rooted. First Snapchat stops working, followed by a multitude of other apps. Google Play store stops opening, I'm unable to install apps, and several core features of the phone just freeze up. If i try rebooting (how I discovered the issue), my phone gets stuck in a bootloop and I have to factory reset to work again. My phone did this again today after a few times so finally I'm coming here for help. I also recently discovered that factory resetting my phone from the settings app did nothing, as soon as I rebooted it went into a bootloop. So the only way to recover my phone is to factory reset from the recovery mode. It may also be worth noting that I used ODIN to flash the AP, BL, CP, and CSC stock firmware (G935AUCU1APB5 etc...) after I wanted to unroot. I have absolutely no clue what's wrong and any fixes or even an explanation would be greatly appreciated.
go into recovery and try cleaning the caches, there maybe stray bits of old code floating around.

Yeah I've done that a couple times. I went ahead and did it just now though so we'll see
