I have a working ROM installed, a while back I tried to install multirom but it didn't work out, whenever I try to boot into recovery I get an AT&T has not authorized this software screen. Tried using goomanager and flashify but twrp will not reinstall. How do I get a good recovery back on the phone? I don't remember what I did the first time.

I believe you can try running CASUAL again if those aren't working.
It says that it is not for my device and fails.

I installed the new PA AOSP 4.4 on Mako. I had not installed GAPPS. Started the phone up into 4.4, thought "don't like this", turned off went into CWM, went into recovery and was hit with a knocked over android with the red warning sign. I have tried multiple times without success to get into recovery.
I downloaded Flashify and it says I do not have SU permission on your device. Downloaded superSU and was greeted with the message "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
How do I get back to 4.3? is it possible? or do I have to wait for a root now? Is there any way just to get GAPPS or the Playstore?
Find efrant's guide on flashing back to stock using fastboot. It'll get you 100% back to stock, and teach you the right way to do it.

so what happened is you did everything wrong. first off, you should have flashed the rom, gapps, and supersu 1.65(for root). and that android laying there is the stock recovery. you lost it because the rom replaced your recovery with the stock recovery. all you have to do is flash a custom recovery via fastboot, then flash supersu 1.65 in the custom recovery that you just installed. next time, figure out what you have to do before doing it.

Thank you so very much, I thought I was downloading PA 3.99 just under a different name which is why it kind of shocked me when GAPPS 4.3 said it couldn't install.
I really appreciate your time, I was panicking here for a second.

Happy that there is a solution. I'm having the same exact issue and i don't know flashing the recovery image in fastboot mode. If you could put up a link or a video on how to go about it , that would be great
Trying to push recovery.img using fastboot , but gettin "waiting for device"error. should have just let the 4.3 stay. damn. no gapps. no recovery .

Simplest way to fix it is DL one of the nexus tool kits. Me I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171332 and its that easy why make it harder than it is or read the full op

if I remember correctly that means your recovery did not flash correctly so I recommend using either flashify or freegee from playstore and retrying
It is actually the stock recovery. Try again flashing TWRP or CWM

Thanks a lot! I followed that guide, and afterwards I was no longer even able to get into recovery/download mode....so I though I was even worse trouble....since one the the instructions was to erase the LAF file and flash it again with a downloaded LAF image, I decided to go to the link with all the files you provided and flash each of them....rebooted, and the phone was able to get into recovery mode again...Then I pushed the file for my phone ( http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/VS980/Stock_Firmware) using Uptest (R&D Tool), rebooted and the phone worked.
I have an LG G2 vs980. I can get into fastboot and TWRP but for some reason the touch screen is really wonky and when i boot into download mode it takes me to fastboot. Right now im running Ubuntu but i can re install windows if i have to. Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Well im kinda new to the rooting thing but I believe my phone was only soft rooted. I was trying to install twrp but I got a dead android with a explanation mark or it would go to a black screen after the lg logo.i didn't know I was soft rooted when I was trying this. so after awhile I gave up. my phone still booted normally without trying to go into recovery. recently an update for android came out ( kitkat 4.4.2) so I decided to see if it would work. it restarted the phone to install the update and it got stuck in fastboot mode. i managed to find a way to install twrp using fastboot and adb. i did it but the touch screen was all funked up and i ended up wiping the system i think. just cant win. twrp wont mount the drive eiher. maybe because i have Ubuntu?

well first the reason your phone died is because of the update you did after you had broken your stock recovery, if you have twrp currently there are two things you need to do:
1)get rid of the update using this
2)adb push/sideload a rom and try to flash or try and get in download mode to restore to stock

no fastboot is only for restoring the phones stock partitions but if you use twrp sideload feature it should flash it once it's done copying it(I know that's how it works with philz)

Verizon LG G2
Rooted
Installed TWRP
Without thinking (doink) tried to install the latest OTA.
OTA failed.
Now I cannot reboot into TWRP.
Installed ClockwordMOD and installed its own custom recovery. Still won't boot into any custom recovery.
Phone works fine other than that.
How can I get back into custom reccovery?
Note: When I turn phone off and try to reboot into custom recovery it takes me to the "reset" screen.. and then IT RESETS the phone.
When I try to boot into recovery from Clockwork or TWRP app it gives me the android robot with the open tummy and red triangle.

The OTA update installed the KitKat bootloader, which hasn't been hacked for custom recovery yet.
Use this to downgrade the only the bootloader and install custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
You have to root frist. You can use IORoot25 to root the KitKat rom that you have now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232

Ok.
The KITKAT rom didn't install properly..
Phone says 4.2.2
Super user and apps that need root to work are working properly. Looks like the bootloader is the only thing that got hit.

Oh. Not sure if AutoRec works if you are still on 4.2.2. Sorry bout that.
If it doesn't work, you can always just manually flash the complete firmware using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. Surest way to get back from failed flashes. You can flash the full 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 KDZ and then start over again. That method wipes everything though.

HELP
I am screwed here.
#1. Tried the "unbrick stock" solution. Can NOT get it to work. I tried it all 3 ways given and it gets to the LG driver start... and then it says I am up to date. I tried to change the country, the language, upgrade recovery, can NOT get it to work.
#2. I can get TWRP to load. But I can't get my computer to recognize my phone so I can move a rom over
#3. I can't get ADB to recognize my phone.

Hello,
I have the T-Mobile variant of the S5 and I am trying to install a custom recovery and it doesn't send it over to my phone. I tried to push over both TWRP and Philz Touch and Odin3 said they both succeed in installing. However, when I go into recovery, it shows the stock recovery still. At the top it says "Android system recovery <3e> LRX1T.G900TUVU1DOB1". I have been looking it up for a while now and I can't seem to figure it out. I do have Android version 5.0 stocked and not rooted on my phone.
How I tried to do it in Odin:
I made sure that only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time were selected.
Then I checked off PDA and navigated to both the philz_touch_6.57.8-klte.tar.md5 and flashed it. After I rebooted my phone I went to check the recovery and it was still stock. It was the same exact way with the openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.0-gt-klte.tar file I flashed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Brandon
I have same problem on dual sim variant.

Hmmmmmm, well good to know it isn't just my phone. I also forgot to mention I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit edition with the latest Samsung drivers.
Happened here too, ended up having to root with "CF Auto Root", then install TWRP recovery with "TWRP Manager" from Google Play (Free)
It's because of the auto reboot. That needs to be unchecked, after the flash is done, pull the battery and reboot into recovery using the buttons.

Edit: Right afterwards when I tried to go back into it, the recovery was back to stock.
That's strange, it should have stayed custom
