Hello there just wanted to check before I go ahead: bought a 910c octo core note 4 is actually from Lithuania pretty sure it's unlocked brand new. And I want to use it on three here in the UK do I just put the SIM in? Or do I need to change regions first (is it csc? can't remember) etc. . I know it's probably a bit noob but it's been a while and I'm not up to date! Thanks.
You should just be able pop your sim card in if that's the case.

REQUEST][MOD] Region Lock Removal Tool
hello modders
I and others who travel a lot will need a tool which will remove region lock provided to all new galaxy phones since July 2013
Reference: http://gigaom.com/2013/09/26/seriously-samsung-sorry-european-roamers-but-the-new-galaxy-note-3-is-region-locked/
we need to find the code that was used to unlock the note 2 but now does not work on note 3 we can then acess secret menu and maybe unlock all regions hope we can find the engineer code.
This one below

Yah, this is true and for me it doesn't make sense.
I can confirm that when i got the Galaxy note 3 yesterday it has a sticker on it, I checked the retailers here also S4 boxes have that sticker too.

Just purchased mine in Hong Kong, No Sticker or warning of any kind.
No idea where this information comes from and which countries Note version/s it refers to, but I just got my N9000 (SM-N900) here in Bangkok, Thailand and tried it with European SIM cards (roaming, as I am still in Bangkok) and they all work just fine.
EDIT: Also no sticker or warning of any kind.
It is only for the first time you activate the phone. E.g. If you are in Europe with an European phone, activate using a European sim, you are OK to use other Sims when you travel.
But if u try using a say a American sim to activate the European ph on first boot then u are ****ed.

Not exactly ****ed. You can still unlock it via code or the service center.
Updated details here: http://www.sammobile.com/2013/09/27...cking-works-and-its-not-as-bad-as-we-thought/
Others have already shown that this is a software lock done via the CSC. I don't have a Note 3, but based on my experience with the Galaxy S4, this is something that would be very easy to remove.
Hello,
I am from Istanbul, Turkey. As you know, Samsung released its Exynos version Note 3 in Turkish market. Note 3 with Exynos Octa processor costs approx. $1000 here in Turkey. That's why, I want to place an order from a friend who is currently in New York.
He said the cheapest Note 3 with Snapdragon processor costs $725 in AT&T Manhattan store. But the guys in that store said to him that the phone cannot be used in Turkey. And they said that he can only buy the "working versions" of Note 3 from Best Buy, Amazon or eBay.
I just want to know that, if he buys that N9005 (Snap.800) model for me, am I going to be able to use that phone in Turkey with XDA's unlock tools? I really need your help because I just have 3 days left to decide and place the order.
Many thanks..
Alper
Some countries get both versions, which implies that both are usable on any network. Just make sure you're not buying from a carrier, buy from a carrier-independent store.

Make also sure, your friend takes an unregistered USA simcard with him to Turkey.
You also can buy these on Ebay
Because the N3 has a simlock on some phones to activate the phone. If you first put the USA sim in and register the phone, you should be fine using Turkcell, Vodafone, AVEA or whatever in Turkey I think.
any other idea or suggestion?
Didn't read about it but can Chainfire's region unlocker (or something like that) application fix this for you?

Are you sure N9005 LTE version work in Turkey because of 4G requirement?
Hello everyone,
I have a verizon note 3, bought it in october so I've been using it for some time now. I am going to travel to asia in a couple of days, question is am I going to be able to plug a local sim card in from (e.g china) and expect it to work? All the articles online about region lock is making the situation more confusing. I just want to know if I am able to use a sim card in asia on my note 3, having been using the phone for the last couple month here on verizon already.
Thanks,
my note 3 is same 2,, buyed from ireland as europen phone but used for turkish sim card and work well..

Region lock was supposed to be disabled after using your phone to make phone calls for about 5 minutes...
Whether the lock may affect you is anyone's guess but the UK & European phones that come with region lock have a sticker on the outside.
I don't believe you will have any problems but that is still just a guess....
So far as I know genuine Australian Note 3 handsets are not region locked. Was there a sticker on the box when you got it? If not then you are good to go.

Ahh thats good, ive seen pictures of the stickers on the boxes saying that the phone is region locked, my box has no such sticker so i guess im in the clear.
I cant take my optus simcard over to nz as its not mine, so i cant do the 5 min call part, but i might grab a prepaid simcard just incase.

No limitation. The only thing is when you setup device initially - the default language will be in the language of the device origin. I have a german DBT Note 4 myself - imported to Ireland. So on initial setup I'm greeted in German - so have to change to english.
Other than that you should have no problems. Likewise you will receive updates based on the territory you bought your device, so if the UK get lollipop OTA update - don't expect your own to get it at same time - you will get that when the update rolls out for the territory your device was originally bought in...
Unless you flash a clean new official rom and change your CSC. But familiarise yourself with the Note 4 before worrying about doing anything like that.
you'd only face the real limitations if you had a US SIM, as the European note 4 models come with a temporary region lock to discourage import.
since the UK is part of Europe, there shouldn't be a problem.
