This is only interesting if your Gpad is running V50020d (Android 4.4.2) and you want to downgrade in order to install CWM or TWRP.
I spend some evenings reading and trying to downgrade as preparation to upgrade to CM12 (it's like pressing START to Shut Down )
What worked for me was described in this Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
I used the V50010A.kdz available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722562&page=2
Note that this "LD Flash Tool" is obviously an updated tool. I tried an older one that is described in some threads and it did not work (maybe I did something wrong).
Also this updated tool does not need all those additional tools anymore (tinyhttpd, WindowsEnabler, etc).
But as I was doing it, those additional tools where still active on my PC (I tried the older tool before and forgot to disable them) - but I guess/think/hope they are not necessary.
Some Notes:
If you are running the LD Flash Tool: do not push "Read Phone Information" -it crashed every time I did..
Remember to select 3GQCT as Type.
Use a AntiVirus bevore running something you downloaded.
After downgrading my Gpad it was stuck in a boot-loop (the animated LG logo was shown again and again) so I powered off the Pad (long pressing the power Button) and started into recovery mode to do a factory reset. Then it booted fine.
Works with 20b?
I recently bought the g pad and it comes with 4.4.2.
I have v5020b. will tihs method work with this version?
Thanks
I recently bought a V500 and it came with D on it .
I rooted, twrp and flashed a 5.0.2 ROM.
What is benefit of downgrading?

Sometimes D gives you problems when trying to install TWRP or another custom recovery. A has more vulnerabilities so it's easier to do. (I know in my case everything I attempted failed on D but worked as soon as I downgraded)
If you got that far then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Thanks

Hi. Sorry if there are grammar errors but I'm swyping on my phone.
I have att d800 unlocked for T-Mobile. I was rooted and unlocked running aeonflex. Wanted to go to kitkat but twrp was giving failed errors. I flashed CWM and was able to successfully flash a kitkat ROM.
Decided to try a newer version of TWRP because cwm took too long to format cache. I flashed It in cwm and now my recovery is corrupt somehow. I want to say it went to a white screen that had rows of 3 digit numbers and said secure boot error or something like that.
No biggie I'll just use flashify or goomanager to flagSh another one. Well this ROM did mention I may lose root and will have to flash SU. So I lost root and flashify is out. Goomanager said No recoveries were found for my device.
OK I'll just return to stock. I followed rootjunkies YouTube video but seemed to get an error when it was about to flag. I believe it had to do with the big 2gb file I downloaded Was for jellybean and now I have kitkat.
Im currently downloading a file LGD800AT-01-V20c-2.zip and following another restore to stock video on YouTube.
I was unable to get root using ioroot24. It said....damn. Now I keep getting a blue screen with windows 8.1 when I try and root with ioroot. But it did say device not compatible or something... post model number and firmware on main xda forum.
So I can't seem to root it. I going an lg utility program to recover the phone but it won't recognize the phone even though drivers are installed (maybe a win 8.1 problem)?
I'll send $5.00 PayPal to whoever can point me in the right direction. Sorry it can't be more I'm poor right now
Thanks
D800 lg g2
can you still get to download mode(power off phone, hold volume up while connecting to pc) if the answer is yes then grab the jellybean installer from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369 and go to 4.2.2 then follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672931 for kk+root+recovery and also a few notes kk is not rootable through ioroot as of yet, 2)philz is the best recovery for stock kk because its the most compatible as of now, and if the above works you can save your money for a rainy mainly because I haven't got a paypal
Thanks... Yes I can get into download mode. I'll try this when I get back home
I was attempting following a thread like one posted. I think because I was on a windows 8 machine I was having issues. Tonight I'll go to my friends house who has a win 7 machine and give it a shot
Thanks...that link about the restore worked. That was actually one of the things I tried when I was searching for my problem originally. It failed because of the dll. I used the alternate DLL and it worked! Back in business.
Hello
Im just recently bought this device from a friend so i could ditch my broken Galaxy S2. I just need a good looking phone that does the job without lag and is unrestricted in terms of access which means, i want to be able to install custom roms. Oh and screen size is also important to me.
I however am NOT new to the android modding community and ive created a couple of things myself, but for every new phone im forced to relearn almost everything. Aaand boy did this phone land me in a very awkward situation that 6 hours of pure googling, experimenting with different firmwares etc, couldn't fix.
I learned the hard way that i have a JDI display and that its less common than the other one. I followed some simple guide where i was on 4.4.2 already and basically rooted it with ioroot. Now the only method ive found so far to install a recovery on a stock 4.4.2 lg g2 (d802) 32gb edition is by using a certain application called autorec.
I did try it. It seemed to work. No error. However, to my suprise i found out i had a screen that was completely covered in white/green/blue lines. By how the procedure was supposed to go, the app was supposed to boot me to twrp recovery after the install. And im guessing it did because i could feel the vibrations of the different buttons as i tapped the screen on different places. But i couldnt see what i was doing.
I researched into it and found out about the whole jdi thing. Found a Europe Open D80230b.kdz firmware and flashed it but just blindly booting the phone into download mode tho it was still covered in lines and couldnt see a thing. Once it was done, the phone booted and the LG logo was visible and the lines started to decay and slowly dissapeared. after about an hour, they were totally gone.
Now to the main issue im having and the question i have for you if can help me.
How do i go about installing a recovery that works (that i can actually see) so that i may access the menu in order to install this ldi kernel zip? Ive tried installing a recovery with the one click root + recovery script by somboons.
It gets stuck on this part "author : blog.lvu.kr
SPECIAL COMMAND : ENTER,LEAVE
#"
I basically CANT install a recovery on 5.0.2 with the one click script because it gets stuck. Cant root it either with SRKTools. I CANT install recovery on 4.4.2 with Autorec because my phone gets covered in white lines and i cant see what im doing. I tried installing a certain jellybean firmware to go from there. Using the open europe d802 jellybean firmware wasnt possible because the flash tool kept giving me disconnection errors. So i tried installing a open polish d802 firmware. got white lines so that is a no go too. One thing that i suprisingly can do. I can root it using the LG one click root method 1.3. The 1.2 script cmd version doesnt work. It gets stuck on the special command # part, however the graphical interface version roots without any problems.
ive found the recovery im gonna use which is supposedly nicer to jdi screen that, according to the creator, is supposed to generate less heat on the jdi screen. however i dont know how im supposed to install it. For now im gonna use the 5.0.2 open europe d80230b firmware til i find a solution. All im trying to accomplish here is to successfully install CloudyG2 3.3. And open the doors for a potential cm13 install.
Finally reached recovery by using this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wli.areclp802
Read description on whats required if you intend to try it yourself. It requires root and some SuperSU option unchecked. Worked perfectly on my LG G2(D802) with JDI display that ran 5.0.2 lollipop stock firmware 30d. It will flash recovery successfully but then i had to manually press the button inside the app for it to boot me to the recovery. its the newest twrp 3.0 recovery. Now im happily running CloudyG2 3.3

Greetings,
I need some help. I purchased OneClickRoot for my Verizon S5. Everything went swimmingly right up until it didn't. I got root after several hours with the oneclick tech team. he gave me instructions on how to flash a ROM, but left out the apparently important step where I should have skipped the signature verification. So I had SafeStrap, wiped everything and tried to flash an unsigned ROM. now the phone is dead wit no OS and seemingly no ability to get back to safestrap. Should I just toss this phone in the rubbish and buy a new one or can it be saved? When I boot to recovery, it is Android recovery and it keeps failing on the verification.
All advice is welcome.

I'm unfamiliar with Verizon variants, but have you tried using Odin to flash the original stock?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784880
Sent from my Samsung SM-G900I using XDA Labs
Yea dude as long as you can get into download mode (or Odin mode whatever you feel like calling it) you're fine just flash whatever version you feel like being on and I would follow these instructions for root and ROMs and possible bootloader unlock since it's Verizon https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529
So Close!!
Thanks for the help. I followed this guide ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529) and got it back; ...sort-of.
In Step 13, I used the 6.0 firmware.
In Step 14 I used the "latest stock rooted Lollipop Rom" that was recommended.
I have what appears to be a rooted 5.0 factory rom installed. However, when booting, I get process stopped errors for the first 2 minutes. Maybe 15 or 20 of them. After that, they stop.
Current Problems:
1) the radios are dead. Wi-Fi will not turn on and it does not know that my SIM card is installed
2) when the screen times-out I have to pull the battery to get it back.
3) All the error messages (android.process.media)
4) It does not see the SD card
Questions:
A) Can you help me fix the radio problems?
B) Once I get the radios working again, can I flash any G900V ROM with safestrap and it will likely solve 2, 3 &4?
C) Are the custom roms on 6.0 and higher rooted? I was looking at this one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-cosmic-os-3-1-t3553838)
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Idk if i can help bt i can try haha Well first thing first it sounds like you used marshmallow firmware but then flashed a lollipop ROM which yes it will boot up bt stuff like your radio and GPS, etc won't work so first thing is first i would say is do a complete wipe and get your self back to stock through Odin and get everything working first before worrying about ROMs then I have to ask is what is what is your emmc are you 15 (bootloader unlock and can easily root 6.0.1 or higher) or emmc 11 (can only root 5.0)
I have a xperia c4 e5303, is a awesome device and 5-6 days ago i wanted to use xposed firmware to enable a fake gyroscope.
AND THE HELL STARTED.
I had the device rooted with custom recovery twrp when i was in lollipop 5.1, i installed the firmware for xposed and the phone was stucked in "android optimization", for hours. I restarded it sometimes but nothing, so i formatted my device and when i rebooted it, i was stucked in "sony" logo screen, some minutes ago i founded that my phone was totally empty.
c: *internal screaming*
I waited the next day, i downloaded the ftf of original marshmallow 6.0 firmware for sony xperia c4 and i installed it on my device, then everything worked perfectly luckely.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy, or not?
Some hours after i founded that i couldn't use the recovery mode!
I searched and searched and i founded that the problem could be the bootloader,so i used a sony official guide to unlock that.
I couldn't finished that guide becouse with any connection, on any computer, android sdk can't install his components(such as google usb driver, that are required for that method), and the program just install everytime the same package in loop. I tried aaaallll the method in the universe for that, i tried also to install once per once the zip files of the downloaded package but it was totally useless.
So i founded another method after some days of searching (with flashtool) and now my bootloader is fully unlocked, if i use flashtool to unlock the bootloader, it says that is unlocked and ask me if i want to relock it so i think now the bootloader unlock is done. FINALLY.
Then, i turned off the phone and started it by pressing the volume down+power botton, and all the device did was reboot himself repitetly until i release hard keys and when i do it the phone start automatically.
I think my device now reboot himself instead of going in recovery mode.
What can i do i am totally frustrated about this and i really don't want to buy a new device becouse i don't have a gyroscope. I love my xperia c4, i just don't know why i can't get the recovery mode back to install twrp, for rooting the device, for retry to get xposed virtual sensor and then finally enjoy my vr experience...
In the end, i have a Xperia C4 5303 with original Marshmallow 6.0 firmware installed, that can't go in recovery mode in any ways.
Pls someone help me..
no one?..
No one here know hot to save my smartphone?
update: now i can use fasboot and adb commands becouse i installed the drivers properly.
but i still can't flash a custom recovery to get the root..

Digging through XDA (next time use the website's search bar, tee hee hee) I found this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp.../bootloader-unlocked-custom-recovery-t3285521
Edit: I know it says C5 Ultra whatever but the thread says it also works with your model (C4 E5303 no?)
Before trying anything, I'd seriously recommend reading all eleven pages so you don't miss anything and end killing your phone (or back at square 1).
I'm not an expert on Android or anything (I personally have only owned 1 device — a first gen Moto G), but the method presented in the thread is very odd. Are all Xperia phones this weird?
Read carefully — some steps might be unnecessary (after all, you already unlocked your bootloader [maybe?])
P.S. you lost the recovery because by installing the original firmware it basically got erased (original firmware didn't have TWRP after all!)
P.S.S. you should create a backup once you get TWRP up and running, just in case.
I can't help you more than this because I do not own the device, so I cannot share ~personal wisdom~ with you (beyond recommending the Moto G series).
Good luck!
( And search the forums and threads before posting — that's an XDA rule! )

Thanks a lot for your time, but i am using that thread to root this, and i am stucked at the last point becouse i don't know what he means with:
"THIS IS IMPORTANT
The rom has
Code:
recovery.from.boot.p"
I did all the steps except for that, and i get no errors but when i try to boot in recovery the phone just stay on the logo and then after some minutes reboot himself and starts normally.
i already ask what the last point is in that thread
p.s.: i know i will not have twrp if i reinstall stock fw, but the point is that i don't have also the normal recovery, i can't access to that via adb or via hard keys..

Ah. You should've mentioned it (i.e. linked to the guide). Sorry sorry!
Read further down. The "recovery.from.boot.p" is this thing that overwrites TWRP with the stock recovery. Following the «THIS IS IMPORTANT» indication are instructions to get rid of the thing, and so being able to keep TWRP permanently.
You need that last step to succeed.

Is fine, i had to buy another phone that is why is tarted to root the xperia.
just..i'm out from the world of rooting i think. i broke 2 devices 1 by flashing a original rom with sony original flashtool and 1 by installing a root with kigroot, and now on that i can't read the sim.
i wait until the world of rooting will be more stable and with more official custom roms...

Hi
When I wipe devik, data, cache and system partition using TWRP and reboot, the phone take forever to boot it stuck in LG logo. I don't understand why it stuck when I wipe those partitions. I've tried combination keys to boot in TWRP recovery but it doesn't work. Now I'm stuck. I don't know what to do. My phone is LG G3 (F460L) Android 4.4.2. Please see the photo.
EDIT: I didn't read the system partition thing before answering below... If I'm not completely wrong, your phone can't boot, because there is no system which could be loaded, so your phone is more or less empty, when you wiped the system partition. No more Android 4.4.2 :/ I don't know, why booting into TWRP doesn't work. Maybe you carefully could try to unbrick your phone and reinstall stock rom again.
Hej,
have you ever had booting problems with your phone? I'm in constant bootloop trouble with my D855. Some say it's a battery issue, which I can not confirm since I've tried 4 different ones (including 2 brand new ones). Some others say my mainboard has kind of an unrepairable defect. As I go with this possible explanation, I ordered a new used mainboard from China, hoping for it to arrive in Europe and not beeing fished by the authorities...
I can't say for sure what is the exact issue with my or your phone, the only thing I can tell is that there are tons of posts that can be found on the internet about the G3 having bootloop issues after a couple of years of normal usage. And for most users this came all of a sudden. Believe me, I've invested days of research, uncounted attempts of unbricking my phone (I thought I bricked it somehow, but it wasn't the case) and flashed stock rom and LOS as hard as I could. All ended up in my phone not running stable, crashing and then bootlooping. Sometimes (most of the times) if it's shut down and I want to turn it on, it gets stuck on the LG boot splash screen. It seems that somehow the energy management is not capable of running the phone stable under low voltage, since at least for me the probability of successfull boots slightly rises with a higher state of charge. But I can't take it for granted...
Good luck for you, I will keep reading this thread.
I wipe System Partition which contains Kitkat 4.4.2 but I already flash new ROM (CM13 Unofficial f460) after. There should be CM13 in system partition. I don't know why it can't boot. On the other hand, I can't find official firmware 4.4.2 for F460L (3hours search still no luck). I found only official firmware 6 Marshmallow which I'm afraid I won't be able to root forever if I flash it. I'm really appreciated if you can find one somewhere.

You can use the search function within the forums or search engines like startpage. I don't actually own a F460L and I'm not an expert either, so I don't know, how it works exactly. Punchin the keywords "F460L Lollipop root" into startpage.com brought me the following link as first result:

Just follow the guide in OPs post

Sorry, as I'm on a D855, I don't really know. I rooted via King Root which only works with a specific Android version. I used this guide which helped me a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VOgM3jLas4
It's for the D855 but it could work with the F460 too. In the video description, there is a download link to the specific stock rom version for F400 models. The guide tells you where and what to download and how to install. You could try this and I'll keep reading Good Luck!
