Guys n gals !
Can somebody from XDA team up with this awesome developer from Greece and maybe we could have some of the very amazing cydia tweaks this guy has created ?
I guess maybe with Xposed
He has made a real time voice changer on ios while it is almost impossible to do it on android yet.
Plus bioprotect , callbar feature rich tweaks and all very creative & innovative plus very useful.

Hi All,
First i would like to start out by saying that this forum is the best place to be if you are a WM (HTC) phones passionate user or developer and people here are really great and has a lot to offer.
Second.. As i see in this forum (Development and Hacking) that there a lot of developers who give a lot and ther who want to give a lot but don't know where to start. I see lots of potential in the applications being developed here and potential for lots of other applications that can be developed. MS in the past has kind of misunderstod the power and usage of touchscreen by making the UI of WM not really finger friendly, although they are starting to realize that (maybe after the iPhone came out) but we wont see that for another year or so when they come out with WM 7.
Anyway to cut the story short i wanted to say that almost everyday there's a new Finger Friendly app being developed and added to the forum and people with great ideas want to come up with new applications. We definitly have 2 killer applications PocketCM and PointUI that the developers have made a wonderful job in the UI, finger friendly and espetially the window transitions. They have conqured where MS has failed (so far) in providing the right controls for developers espeically UI controls to develop rich UI applications on their platform.
I was thinking why dont the developers of these applications share their platform with other developers here in the forum instead of each developer having to start from scratch everytime a new finger friendly application to be borned? especially that these applications are all free for download (that is if the developers of these application will keep providing these apps for free and not start charging like some other did)
That's just my thought and i would like to hear what other developers in this forum think and definitly would like to hear the opinion of the 2 wonderful fingerfriendly apps.
Thanks for you time in reading this and sorry for the long post.
Happy New Year 2008
cheers
Here's an idea that I have that maybe the moderators and the rest of the community can help me expand on.
Since it's award season (e.g. Grammy's, Tony's, Oscar, Golden Globes, etc) I was thinking that we should have an annual xda-developer's awards.
I was thinking that a group of moderators could take cash donations thru paypal or some other means and hand out cash prizes for the awards voted best. The monies could be collected thru out the year that way by award time there should be plenty of money to "hand out as cash prizes" Maybe T-shirts could be printed for nominees.
I was thinking that moderators could choose the nominee's and then the community could vote on the winners. I think it would be counter-intuitive to have the community vote the nominees.
Some of the categories could be as follows:
Best ROM (To include sub-categories for different handsets) and then one overall ROM of the Year.
Most Creative App: (This categories could include apps that aren't IPhone knock off or sims; Trackme and Advanced Configuration come to my mind quickly)
Best IPhone SIM (e.g. IFonz, itask, S2U2, many others)
Best Skin
Best Finger Friendly Application
Best App collaboration (Many people are not just creating apps on their own)
Developer of the Year (Many devs create more than a few apps or create a killer app and should be considered for this award). This allong with APP of the Year should be considered the TOP awards
Can I get some feed back from any mods or the community? Suggestions on prizes and additional categories? Or even if this idea stinks that's cool too.
Ahh we would need a clever name for the awards as well..or would XDA-Developer awards suffice?
Just my two cents.
Great idea!
Really cool idea..I think this way will surely motivate all developers to work even more harder
+1
It should not be so bad! I'm in.
Awesome idea!! I'd love to see this happen.
Some good ol' recognition never hurt anyone. That sounds like a fantastic idea
Best Finger Friendly Application
A_C's S2XXX apps - that's my vote.
Best Rom for the Wing/Herald
I nominate ttran for his Open Touch 3.0 lite
Far Superior to the Stock T-Mobile Rom.
Love it . All of them will rock.........
A_C for best dev ever.
That's really a nice idea, but I don't think it's the way to go. I really don't know why, but it seems that it will cause some trouble at a point. Maybe, it would be better to just simplify by just awarding the title to the respected person(s).
Plus, this is online. You never know if forgery, any or any mishap will come up. Anyways, just a thought. Can't really explain what I'm trying to say. It's all mumbo-jumbo-ed.
think if this is managed properly it could be a brilliant idea
any mods have any views as you guys would have most of the work?
Count me in too. Can't wait for this to happen.
This is a fantastic idea! Even if the reward is just a speacial rank on this site it would help dev's feel as though they have accomplished something and it would also encourage people to daonate.
And for best ROM dev I would nominate YUC for his O2 XDA Stealth ROM which no one eslse has been able to do!
Some one should do a poll in this thread!
Made this into a poll here:

Ok, I'm new to the whole Android world. I've come off the iPhone/ipod Touch side and want to start creating themes and apps if I can. I've done lots with the others and now would like to start doing some of my own creations on the Android. But, I don't know where to start.
I have an App in mind that I would love to create because its going to be educational but I just don't know where to start or how to start it. I would love to create themes too. Can somebody help?

Hi all app developers,
The new XAppDbg tool from Sony (eXtra Application Debugging tool) lets you try out different parameters in your app without the need to rebuild the code for every change. For example, this can be really useful when you fine tune the UI of your app.
Feel free to have a look at the open source project and contribute to make it even better!

Pal, you've possibly just swayed me to pickup an Xperia as my next device. I'm not even a developer, but this kind of support for the community makes me want to give you my money. Please keep up the great work!
Bump for the awesomeness of sony open source.

Nice move Sony, thanks you for all the devs that will use it.
It's weird to me to say thanks Sony, because Sony means DRM most of the time, it's a good step to share that way, thanks thanks thanks !

@pal.szasz, why don't give us XDA-Sony users things like easy root, tools for decompiling your apks which come with new issues every other FW release, those are things the majority of users here would like to see.

* easy root: giving root access is impossible for many reasons, legal reasons being one of them. However we do support unlocking the bootloader, which allows you to install custom roms which have easy root access
* tool for decompiling the APKs: http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...o-analyse-your-apks-now-released-open-source/
