While connecting to a peer using WiFi Direct, user's permission is required. I know that connection can't be made without user never giving the permission. So I would like a way to ask the user for permission only once at the first start of the application.
Thanks for the help

Hello All,
I apologize if this has already been discussed. If it has, could you direct me to the thread?
We have a WIFI hotspot at my work. But, it requires the user to open the internet and either create a new user or log in with an existing one, which I have. I use it with my laptop fine.
But I want to use the standard IExplorer on my wm5 8125 (wizard) and auto login and not log out until I kill the connection. Is there a setting in the phone or software that allows for this? I know that there are a couple of different internet explorers like opera etc that allow for multi tabbing but I don't want to deviate from the standard IE.
Please let me know if or how this is possible.
Thanks,
CG
Does any one know if there is a way to use your WM6 device on a secured WPA, TKIP, PEAP network when you have your own user name and password to access regular pc.
I'm trying to use my TILT at work and everytime i try to log in it tells me that i need "personal certificate" to positively identify me.
Would it possible to retreive my personal certificate from my work loptop and transfering it somehow to my Tilt?
I really need some help with that, i've been trying this forever.
THanks in advnace

That personal certificate is linked to your work computer name and how it is registered on the AD domain. I don't know how or if it's possible but thats the sorta technicle rundown.
marcini, you should contact your company's IT services and inquire whether it's allowed and whether they will provide support. Most companies are very particular about network access, and rightfully so.
If they use certificate-based authentification for their wpa network, they obviously want to control who gains access to their network, and unauthorized probing might risk your job.
Have fun!
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, and was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have an Acer S200, and due to restrictions at work, we need to disable internet access from our mobile devices.
I have read various posts that state that this can be achieved by disabling wifi access by altering the registry keys, however none of the methods that i have come accross seem to apply to my Acer S200 mobile 6.5.
Sorry to be a pain, but does anyone know how i can do this?
Thanks in advance everyone.
alan
What are you talking about? Disable wifi? Why do you start it at the first place?
Internet access on mobiles can be done by active synch, data connection, wifi. It 's up to you to disable them by comm manager and active synch.
Maybe I get you wrong. What exactly do you need to stop?
Hi fresco,
thanks for the reply. Well, the organisation wants to prevent the devices from having the ability to connect to the internet.
I understand that there may not be a complete solution, but at the very least I would definitely like to disable wifi completely, since this is what I've read others have done. The devices do not have data connection plans, hence this option isn't a problem.
Apparently I can disable the wifi by altering the registry keys? Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
hiya...
any ideas guys?
can anyone direct me to anything that could be remotely useful to the above?
Thanks
Hi alan,
let me get this straight. You work at an organization that has unencrypted wifi access
but doesn`t want it`s employees using it?
If your company`s wi-fi network gives access to the internet to anyone that connects to it why doesn`t the IT manager set a password to the network or enable mac filtering (prevents unauthorized devices-mac addresses from connecting to the network)?
I don`t know how you would disable the wifi chip from the registry
but if i were you i would buy a second phone for work use only.
SKTools
Try SKTools maybe there is a solution in the app.
You can disable the WiFi in registry:
Go to "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware]" and change the WiFi string to 0.
In the Comm. Manager the WiFI is disappeared and you are not able to connect.
thanks brainmaster.
the method that you suggested only removes the wifi display from comm manager, however that can easily be bypassed using the windows menu, to open wifi.
thanks...
then delete that one from the windows menu from Device > Windows > Start Menu
Hi,
I'm working to get reverse tethering (internet passthrough) working through a Linux pc. The app that comes with the phone is for Windows only. I have got to the stage where I can bridge the interfaces on the pc, get a dhcp address on the phone's usb interface, set the route and access the internet (from some apps). However, other apps don't even bother to try to connect if the phone tells them it has no access. This must be set in a property somewhere, but I don't know where? Can anybody help find it and tell me how to set it?
Cheers!
They probably only ask this class, directly or automatically when creating a connection :
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/net/ConnectivityManager.html
You will probably need to browse the Android SDK sources, but looking at this class, this will not help you much as the connectivity itself is hidden behind a IDL interface :
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=pl...ore/java/android/net/ConnectivityManager.java
Thanks for the reply faugusztin.
Sounds too complex for me to set, unless there are ways to do this indirectly.
Hello Gent and Lady SATV Enthusiasts,
I need a little assistance setting up a VPN on my beloved SATV. Searching through various forums, I understand that a number of users have had success using either OpenVPN for Android or Open VPN Client "Free" installed via sideloading.
I would like to get either up and running if possible with the VPN service Pirvate Internet Access. When using OpenVPN the program, I am able to create a new profile and select username/password authentication. However, when I attempt to "select" my CA Certificate, I get an error pop-up that says, "You don't have an app that can do this." A bit curious, as I thought that OpenVPN for Android would be able to do it itself. For those of you who were able to select your CA Certificate, did you have some other program also installed on your SATV? Or was there another trick to it?
As for OpenVPN Client "Free" I was able to complete the setup. However, when connecting, it would briefly connect, then go through a loop of reconnecting, authenticating, reconnecting, authenticating, etc.
If anyone can offer some help on the matter, I would be greatly obliged. Thank you!
For the openvpn client free, are you using Ethernet by chance? It will continually connect and reconnect if you do. It only works right on Wi-Fi, I think the app was built assuming there would be no wired connection.
With openvpn for Android, I haven't used it, but someone else said they used es file explorer to select the cert and selected the app to open with.
