is there any way to root galaxy note 3 running in android 5
without tripping the knox ?
I think all root will affect, but with me no need Knox
Root 4.4.2 using towel root and then buy and install mobile odin. Use it to install the 5.0 release with the options to keep root. After that flash the bootloader for 5.0 with normal odin on PC (mobile odin can't flash bootloaders. And that's it, 5.0 rooted with Knox 0x0

I have read that you can downgrade the SM-G900T to ANE6, use towelroot to root it, then flash back to BNF6 using Mobile Odin Pro. Will this void the knox status? I'm flashing back old official firmware.

No , flashing official firmware with Odin does not trip KNOX, also not when downgrading.

Oh, I updated my Note using MOP and still running Kitkat Bootloader.
and I guess, Once bootloader is updated to Lollipop, then downgrade to Kitkat isn't possible.
If you try to downgrade you may get stuck in bootloop or null IMEI.

Well,
Apart from Bootloader, it is possible to downgrade from lollipop to kitkat without issues. (I can confirm because i have done this before).
My question was if I updated to lollipop and downgrade to kit kat again will the new bootloader trip knox to 0x1 when trying to root ?

No it won't trip Knox unless you flash something which is not officially signed from Samsung. Or unless you play with kernel and recovery.
@tahim. Download Samsung Phone Info app from playstore which shows all details of Note 3.
Thanks to @vndnguyen for this app.

I don't mind trip my knox. So, can I use a chainfire file to root?

It's better that you don't update to lollipop atm:
1. Mobile ODIN isn't ready for Lollipop. You can take a look at the description of the APP in Google Play Store: IMPORTANT NOTICE: DO NOT USE ON RECENT 4.4 AND 5.0 FIRMWARES YET. WE ARE WORKING ON AN UPDATE.
2.. You will have to root your device again via ODIN/custom recovery and have KNOX 0x1 triggered. Wait to other methods to root your device in lollipop.
3. Downgrade is possible if you don't update the bootloader when you flash Lollipop firmware. You will have KNOX 0x1 if you try to downgrade having lollipop bootloader.
I know how to root S5 w/o tripping knox but it requires to install modded roms. Is there a way just to root an maintain stock rom(unmodded) while having knox 0x0? lets say I am using UK BOD3
Anyone knows any chance?

really? please send a link to some tutorial!
There is a way.
You need a specific kernel, but first you must be on a stock KitKat rom for your device.
Then you can root your phone with towelroot app.
Then you can use either mobile Odin or flashfire and update your stock rom to lollipop (sammobile again) with the option of keeping root.
Congratulations you should have a rooted lollipop device and not have tripped Knox.

Perhaps I shouldn't...
What samsung has shipped with BOD3?

Im using rooted android 5 with knox 0x0
first of all backup your files
downgrade your device to 4.4.2 (Some devices: NE2 and some devices: NF6) flash it with odin and wipe data/cache from recovery
root it with towelroot, install supersu from google play store and update binary
install flashfire to your device https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BySFnd9JR36VTDRRZDdndU9KMTg&authuser=0
download android 5 for your device from sammobile and copy it to your device
open flashfire grant root access, tap + and select firmware then select your android 5 firmware
check all boxes (You can't check Bootloader partitions) and press √ from top right and select No from new window
After that dont touch anything and tap flash botton from bot left side
and enjoy your rooted lollipop knox 0x0 rom
What firmware was your LP? The problem ist CFROOT seems not to work since BOD3. Flashing custom recoveries was reported as impossible either....
You wasn't able to download flashfire because it was private now i changed it
Im using BOC2

I read about root, but can't find infos about knox.
Just use cf auto root and odex, that's it ?
KNOX is Samsungs way of voiding your warranty, when their hardware is at fault, but you have flashed something custom
0x0 = valid
0x1 = void
Soon as you flash anything custom, 0x1 - and it's irreversible
If you don't care, root using CF Auto Root and ODIN
Or TWRP 2.8.7.0 & ODIN, then SuperSU zip from TWRP recovery
Like I say, everything is posted thousands of times over, if you'd checked the thread below this one, you'd have known what KNOX was

So there is no way to root without loosing knox/warranty?
If you have a pre June 2014 KitKat ROM running, you can root using Towelroot app, then upgrade to Lollipop using Flashfire to keep root / not trip KNOX
That's the only other method

Flashing a stock Samsung ROM will not trip KNOX, so you're safe to flash any stock ROM without worrying about KNOX, KNOX is only tripped by flashing custom stuff not signed by Samsung
But to upgrade to Lollipop without losing root or tripping KNOX, you have to use Flashfire after running Towelroot on KK, otherwise you'll lose root, and then have no other options than flashing back to KK or tripping KNOX by using CF Auto Root
