Nexus 4 Carbon Nightly Problems
Hi, so I have a Nexus 4 borrowed from a friend and he is running on it Carbon Nightly and yesterday I turned on the sync, and at some point asked me to reboot the phone to update, which I did. It turned on in recovery mode, showing that it is installing carbon. So far so good. As I rebooted the phone, it turned on but the screen is not working. Now the screen in either yellow and purple or half is black and the other half is enhanced forward. I must mention I have no experience with rooting Android. Mostly I am afraid that the personal data in the phone will be lost if I do a hard recover, although I have no idea at what point will that restore the phone. I really don't want to lose my friends data. Could I make a back up (save the data, picture, videos, documents) from the recovery mode?

At first exuse me for my poor english. My xt907 version is 4.4 cyanogen now. I wanted to flash this carbon rom. I copied the files to the phone and went to the recovery mod and tried to install the rom but install aborted and it said you need version 4.1 boot loader . what should i do??

Hi, I installed the latest JBBL rom on my XT905, and am loving the multi window feature. :highfive: However, the weird thing is that Chrome ALWAYS starts as a windowed application. Have I done something to cause this? all other apps start full screen until I specifically change the current running to windowed. I actually would like to set some apps to auto start windowed if it could be set, just not Chrome. Also, while I am here, is there anyway to resize a floating window?

I just install SlimLP Alpha 0.7, and it seems that my screen was too much contrast. My colors are totally different from slimkat.
Do you have the same impression ?

612 showing as 610?
First of all, GREAT ROM! been using it for a week now and runs very stable...
there's one thing that bugs me though. i know it's not a big deal and doesnt affect the propper functioning of the phone but it stills bugs me a little... I have a e612g but whenever i plug it to my computer, it shows as e610. also if i go to system information it displays e610 as phone model.. is this normal? is there any way to change it?
also, i want to be able to connect my phone via USB to my PC and be detected as Mass Storage, not as a portable device. i know this change has to be done somewhere deep within the kernel of the phone but i lack the knowledge and/or experience to mess up with my kenel, is there any fix for this that has already been made by someone else and can be directly flashed to the kernel?

Encryption under SlimKat (4.4.4) not working
Hey guys.
I've freshly installed SlimKat on my Nexus 7 (2012), it works very well. But if I want to encrypt my device, the encryption android shows up (not moving at all) for about five to ten seconds. Then, the device shuts down without any warning and reboots to the lockscreen. How can i fix this?

Hello - me again
I finally figured out to solve the problem. The issue was provocated by Orbot runnning in the background. But now, I'm having another issue. I'd really like to create a backup with CWM-Recovery, but as the storage is now encrypted, it can't be mounted to write the backup. Is there a alternative to create a full backup as there is no SD-slot, maybe by using a windows-pc?

New to Customizing Nexus 4 User Here.
Hi Guys,
This is my first smartphone Nexus 4 (Android Version 5.1.1) bought 2.5 years ago.
I liked the stock Android so did not experiment must on customizing my Nexus 4.
Now my phone shows some wear and tear. So i wanted to try something like different kernel and roms.
I am Noob right now in this customizing. I would like to go with DIRTY Unicorns V9.6.
Please help me get started.
Poor GPS performance
. few days ago, i had to use Maps, and i almost did not arive, the gps position was refreshing once every 2 minutes... ¬¬
It's just me or there is someone else experiencing that?
Should I change something? I'm using version 9.4, and there is no GPS fix listed in the change log.

Can I get a dependencies list to help me build cm for mako? I'm having trouble getting a working build going. Kinda asking around to try to get this issue resolved. The zip is too small so I know I missed something along the way somewhere
