I got a samsung galaxy SM-E500H phone which asks for network unlock code.
I dont know the network its locked to and its a dual sim. If there is anybody who knows how i can get it unlocked pleae let me know. How can i tell which network its locked to also will be very useful.

Did you buy phone from some Contact Company. .? If it's so then It's LOCKED. Or It has been stolen from somewhere and they have got it Locked by Security Agencies. In both conditions you need to contact your local security company & verify your status.

Flashing the sustom rom to a model which has been NETWORK LOCKED will render it unusable.. Give a try & regret the moment. .

the only way is take your device to the shop from were you purchased it other than that dont do anything

I bough this phone online thinking that i will unlock and keep using on different carriers even outside the US (GSM)
I have done a lot of researches online and i cannot find any solution. The imei is only 14 Digits and almost all online unlocking services doesn't have this model.
The usually codes like *#0011#, *#27663368378# they doesn't work at all.
I have tried to go to unlock stores or guys who knows to unlock phones and he said that this phone cannot be unlocked.
phone has a sim card slot so it should be CDMA&GSM
When i insert a different sim card provider it says Invalid Sim Card so i cannot enter any unlock code
ANY IDEA or i will lose 500$ for bad phone
Uscc is not a gsm phone the sim card slot is used for thw 4g service the phone itself is cdma

you are wrong..when samsung fixed/made the phone give the phone all the feuatures..like thisphone can bee gsm and cdma phone..but uscc lock the gsm and they only want to use cdma..i contact samsung and they told me..all s4 models in every counrtys are same..but uscc lock the gsm network..now we have to 'brake' their lock or give us the unlock code..thatt all.. i also have the same promble..no solution yet..

Check this ##366633# the first code in dial app that works..even imei code dont work this code is going in one dm mode any ideas what is this?

Samsung has told me this phone will work either gsm or cdma. Cdma is the way cricket first sold it. It cannot be unlocked. It is cdma. It has to be flashed to a new carrier after it is rooted. The sim is locked via software. Not many codes and all the unlock codes you read about are for gsm. The ##366633# code you mention gets you to a disable or enable developer mode.
i also have the same issue. Not resolved yet. but I did find out this that might help: if i pull up a website that checks the MEID number it gives me the whole description of my phone plus an extra digit on the IMEI number. I wonder if this is why third party unlock sites cant help me

Same problem. Cricket said they cannot find the unlock code if the phone was never activated. So this was never activated.
I have rooted it to OptimizedCM-12-1-20151130. Is it now unlocked?

I just repaired my USC s4 LCD digitizer and now that I am no longer a USC customer wanted to unlock it so I did some checking, if you go to US cellular they will unlock the phone for you, I got my unlock code, but they said they couldn't complete the process if the phone was rooted (Which mine is), you would have to reinstall the USC original firmware, or the latest firmware, to get it to unlock, then root it. I am doing some research now to find out if there is indeed an alternative to unlock a rooted phone...
I just left US CELLULAR where I was told nothing below the s5 could be unlocked,and the only suggestion from any one employed there was to call customer service.

As i don't have the code, i don't know what to do, and as i'm contractly connected with my original operator, i cannot request free sim unlock. However, i don't want to pay for the code either. i cannot get over service mode menu after i enter 1. it's not doing anything, and as i see, this only works on 4.3 androids. So my is 4.4.2 and i'm unable to enter that mode.

You have to unlock ur phone by IMEI. Unique way of make it free is buying a unlock code. Good luck :highfive:

Check your phone's active CSC, they usually have the same lock status for every phone.
Easiest method is to use another carrier sim card and test it on your unit.

No, updating the software doesn't change the carrier lock status. If it was previously locked and was unlocked, it will stay unlocked. If you will update through flashing, just be sure that you are flashing the correct software intended for your unit to avoid problems. If you flash your phone with a different firmware with locked csc, your phone will be locked.

This appears to be an unlocked International version for the EU. But the Forum Moderators checking into the update issue.
You can check http://samfirmware.com/ to find what country your CSC code was built for. This is the CSC for Austria (A1) : G900FVFG1ANE1
This senior member says the towelroot works for the G900F

That's what you have to know yourself. If the network you are using has a history of locking the sim, then it's almost 100% sure that your S5 is locked. S5 was well-prepared for its distribution so the CSC of the network is surely fully configured. Look around here on XDA and take note of the firmwares they are using for modding their custom roms, that'll give you a good idea which firmware is easy to configure. You can start reading with gridflash's suggestion.
No...the s3 initialy was locked on VODAFONE UK!i UNLOCKED AND THEN,WHEN I MADE FIRST UPDATE THE PHONE RELOCKED HIMSELF.
THE S5 I BUY FROM A GUY...AND HE TELL ME THAT THE PHONE IS NEVERLOCK.

I'm getting very confused which info you really want to know. If you want to know the original and/or current carrier, Phone Info will give you that info as previously stated. Every other details, Phone Info will provide, only exception is the network/carrier lock status.
How can I tell which carrier to unlock my Samsung Galaxy 5 for? I thought it was unlocked but it wasn't, and the guy who gave it to me won't get back in touch with me. Please let me know. Also, is there is a good way to return to stock without a windows pc (aka a mac). It is a G900F

Check the SIM Lock status by this secret code: *#7465625#
You need (to buy) the unlock code to unlock.
Hello guys, i have an s7 edge smg935a the att one, i bought it with no contract at all, but i cant get it to work with other networks, the code that att gave me wont unlock the phone, ive tryed buying from internet, and the code its the same than the one att provided, but it wont unlock the phone, can any1 help with this? i dont know what to do, tryed contacting att, but they dont know how to unlock my phone, they said they cant give me a different one and that it should work, tryed factory reset and all that stuff, but cant unlock the sim, as far as i know, the root for att s7 edge, wont unlock it right?

take the sim out turn it on enter code to bring uo sim unlock option using the dial pad, enter unlock code. turn off phone put sim back in turn phone back on.

Had this experience before. Purchased an S4. Then tried to unlock through the service menu based on a XDA tutorial. Didn't work and it could not be unlocked with a right unlock code later on. Eventually, I returned it and get another S4.
This happened to me on galaxy s4 but it was my mistake. My s4 was rooted and I had attempted to unlock using region lock away for unlocking region lock. But when I received the unlock code(sim unlock) i forgot i had left my region lock away on. So i had to reverse that region lock away (or just restored my phone) and retried the code, which then worked fine.

The certain carriers are Cricket / ATT. If your NCK is not working, you have to get the MCK code. I have a special hotline you can call about the issue since normal att tech support cant help. check your pms
