Did you de-bloat using Titanium Backup?
I did.

It's a known issue when you remove Verizon "Support & Protection" using TiBu. If you remove it with another file explorer it won't break rotation.
To get it back, flash a KitKat kernel in Odin (in order to use Safe Strap again) then reflash OA8 in Safe Strap. You shouldn't loose data if you don't wipe, but it will restore factory apps/settings and fix rotation.
Great, will try that this weekend. Thanks.

I'm trying to unroot my phone & all that good stuff because I need to send it back to Verizon.
I cleared all the caches and backup, then I flashed http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30171389/Continuum-Stock-DL17.tar.md5.7z with odin, booted up my phone, updated it to froyo 2.2, deleted cache & data again. Then I downloaded ES Explorer and tried to remove superuser.apk and it won't let me. Can someone help me out please, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Flash the dl17 again, then remove what you need in this order BEFORE ota
1. System/app/superuser.apk
2. System/xbin/busybox
3. System/xbin/su
Reboot, then ota

Is there anyway to know for sure if I've gotten rid of any traces that I've altered my phone?

To be honest, all you really have to do is remove superuser.apk, then OTA. The OTA overwrites the system image, where busybox and su are held.
As for being sure, since we don't root at the kernel with this phone, that will remove all traces that anyone at verizon can see. I assume you are returning this on a warranty issue?
Yes, I am. What's OTA? lol

Yes, it is the update pushed out by your carrier.
Sorry if this is a repeat, I've attempted to search but it appears that that XDA's search is down atm, at least for me. I'd like to wipe all personal data and apps off my phone and my end goal is to remain on MF3, be rooted and have SS installed. I have frozen apps on my phone right now, SS is installed, I'm rooted and I'm on MF3 And I was curious what would be the easiest method to achieve this.
Would it make more sense to Odin the phone with the MF3 recovery files, reroot and SS it? Or will the factory reset in the phone maintain the root and SS? and if I were to use the second option (assuming it does work) should I unfreeze the apps and refreeze them using TiBu?
Thanks for your input!

Safestrap will be on your phone until you manually remove it, I can't remember if root will still be on after a factory reset but its easy to root so no worries.

you can uninstall towellroot like a normal app, then in Su, choose clean up for un-root. profit.

Does that process actually remove root?
It should. don't see why it wouldn't
why not just odin back to stock? that way it wipes all your personal data altogether?
Data isn't lost in odin flash...

I went from NC2 then used odin to upgrade to NC4. I lost root, custom rom status, and wifi tethering-wah:crying:! No big deal since I'm getting a warranty replacement tomorrow anyways (signal issue many are experiencing). However, all my apps and customizations were still intact after the odin flash(Nova launcher with L preview look, custom toggles bar). All of my data in the internal SD card was still intact as well. I suggest a factory reset with data erasing either in settings or in Vol-up, home, Power button recovery boot before or after the flash in odin.:good:
For some reason the OTA for 4.4.4 fails every time. Even after unrooting and resetting in to factory.
You may have modified the system or unistalled apps or bloat that the update is looking for. Flash the no wipe NE9 tar in Odin then try to update, worked for me perfectly

I bit the bullet and was willing to lose all data. I odined back to stock/clean wipe and went through the rooting process with no problems. TiBu didn't find my backup for some reason to restore my appz but not that big a deal. Just went to google dashboard and restored them from there. Phone is working fine. The update DID take quite a while to install though and I thought it was hung up. Left it be and it completed.
no wipe tar.
I have looked thru all threads and cannot find the no wipe tar. Could you plz point me in ther right direction.

I've removed root and reinstalled the official 4.4.2 rom on my i9505, but as i see some folders like "root" are still on the phone, how can i clean that?
If you flashed stock firmware via Odin, then you are automatically unrooted.

Thanks for reply, i mean how to delete folders from the root, they are still here after full wipe and reset
That's what I'm saying. The best way to unroot your phone is by installing the stock firmware via Odin. If you did this then maybe the folders are supposed to be there.

A folder called root too?
I guess. I never tried to unroot a phone before. So I don't know exactly.
You could try and delete it. But if the folder is supposed to be there then deleting it might brick your phone.

Ok! thanks. :good:
Actually after flashing the stock one you can simply make a factory reset and then you have a clean unrooted phone except for knox of course
