There's still some sort of memory management issues at play. After 3-4 days of uptime, chrome will become extremely swappy even with very few pages loaded.

FYI, if you read the bug report and the -2 (will not accept the change) submitted to aosp, you'll see that boot animation is optimized for not too many frames with not too much on them. This is a constraint that animation designers should take into account as it optimizes boot speed.
This is only affecting people using custom animations. CM has a custom animation which caused problems for a few days but for which a couple of different patches were submitted and then accepted.

Mike's ICS ROM

Before I say anything, I know this is probably in the wrong place, but it wouldnt let me post in the development forums because of my low post count, I also know this ROM is in a pre-alpha stage and will have many broken features and bugs, this is not what I am asking about.
I just want to know if anyone knows how big the ROM is, I want to try it out to see what it could be like, the download is 167MB, but is that how big the installed rom is? I have resized partitions in my flash memory, therefore if its bigger than 150MB I will need to resize again.
Also (I know basic question) will I still beable to boot to CWM to restore a nandroid backup of Swiftdroid? I know that atleast Wifi and GSM dont work, as long as the info on Mike's web page is up to date, this alone will mean I will need to roll back after I have had a look around, so a nandroid backup will be the best way.
I only ask the last question because I have only used swiftdroid so I need to make sure.
the download contain the recovery version and fastboot version in the one zip the system is about 140MB
Thanks, my system partition is just big enough, do you have any sugestions on a reasonable size for my system partition? Mainly for when more is working and I upgrade perminantly 10MB isnt enough for any updates imo.

I dont get any rebooting on my phone, and barely any force closes except things confirmed not to work.
If you have resized system and data partitions, I changed my system partition to 170MB because there is alot to come to the rom and it could get alot bigger, I can always lower it if needed.

how do you partition the system to 180MB? I also have the same problem of restarting .. however there are problems with the keyboard and I found the official ICS only by the number of posts I am unable to post it on the official post .. so if anyone wants to take this job I can ask in PM the link (because of the number of posts I'm not insert link) (PS: this keyboard would solve many problems; D)

[CWM] Precise Volume Control, Smooth Scrolling and Battery Drain Fix

Precise Volume Control, Smooth Scrolling and Battery Drain Fix

This is a modified framework.jar and framework.odex based on the tutorial here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411317
This mod is tested working on ICS Final by Jusada. I don't know if this mod is isn't working for others. One thing for sure, this works for CyanogenMod 7.2. I haven't try flash it on other ROMs, so, if this works for you, do tell me. I'll let the others know.

After 3 days using this mod, i can say it's amazing for my phone. My battery life increased almost twice. I used my phone as usual - always 3G and wi-fi on, few 5-6 mins phone calls and a lot of browsing in market and browser. Few minutes of Angry Birds Rio (I'm not a fan of games, my girlfriend plays) and almost 45 mins of watching online TV. My battery last more than two and a half days!!! This is something unthinkable until now. The volume steps are 30 and smooth scolling is working well for me too.
Thank you for this mod!!!

Basically, this a patch of :
A more precise volume control (Volume steps mod)
A smoother overall scrolling (Smooth scroll mod)
Fixed a CyanogenMod 7.2 battery drain issue
Volume steps mod
- People who use Android may complain about the big jump of the volume control.
- By using this mod, the volume steps are changed to 30 steps instead of the default 15 so the volume control becomes more precise.
Smooth scroll mod
- Some application developers recommend disable 'scrollingcache' in app's internal config as it can cause problem to the system, but not all applications have disabled scrollingcache.
- You will experience better overall scrolling after flashing this mod.
Battery Drain Issue
- Some people report that CyanogenMod 7.2 has a battery drain issue on SGA, and till now the problem hasn't been resolved yet.
- In my experience, this mod gives ENORMOUS battery saving, even when my SGA is overclocked at 883 MHz. But then, this is only from my own experience. I won't promise you anything.
Installing method:
Download the frameworkmod.zip from the attachment.
Mount /system.
Flash it via ClockWorkMod.
Enjoy.
Just in case of failure, make sure you have a NANDROID backup before flashing. If you have boot problems, use advance restore>restore system to revert it back.
Don't blame me if your SGA won't boot if you're using deodexed roms or stock rom.
CREDITS
Thanks to AndroidON for his great tutorial in making this mod working. Also to everybody who help me as testers and who share ideas with me.
P.S: This mod takes no effect for some people, but it works if added manually though. I think it's a script problem. Try flashing this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436367&page=6 (Thanks kevinlekiller )
Please click the thanks button, if this works.

Great News for Deodexed ROMs users, I have made the deodexed version of this mod, but yet to be tested due to no deodex roms at my disposal. So, this is a BIG WARNING!! Try, and report. Make sure you make a NANDROID backup first in case of boot failure. Anybody who use deodex roms, and want to contribute something in this modding, please PM me.
NEWThis is the working deodexed frameworkmod based on TheMyth ICS beta 2 framework.jar. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21247921&postcount=104 Try and report.
NEWThere are some people who report InfinityROM works with the deodexed version, the one that you can download below despite the rom itself is a odexed rom. Ask Mr Google why.
Can you explain what you did on the "Battery Drain Issue". Thanks.
Honestly, I totally had no idea why this would fix the battery issue, but to my experience this makes my battery lasts longer than before the modding. So, I just make a premature conclusion that MAYBE the modding itself repairs the issue. I don't know.
The volume control it's great but i'm not sure if fix the battery issue and the scrolling its great
Good work!
Glad it's working for you since this is my first post here.
thx for the mod will test it later!!
I assume it's capable of working with other mods like slaid's, gadgetcheck's and others, cause the files won't be placed in init.d?

Sorry, please read again at the post. This is not a init.d script mod, this is a modified /system/framework/framework.jar and framework.odex files. Of course this mod completely compatible with those scripts, I suppose.
I know this isn't an init.d mod. That's why I mentioned it in my previous post to justify my statement. I asked just to be sure, it's the first question of this kind here so I think it's ok. Thanks for the answer.

I never use stock roms, so, there will be no mods for stock roms from me. Quite a disappointing news to stock roms fans.

[any android version]lag reduced after this!

so i have android hd 3.0 installed and i realized that even after the update of lollipop, it still had a lil animation lag (oh LG, y u do dis)... i tried installing performance control and busy box but i think it didn't change the values at all..
searching for alternatives, i was browsing android script section and found this :

did flash it (after a backup of course). i dint had any idea whether script will work for lollipop, but i feel ui a bit better to be true with lags reduced( CAN BE PLACEBO EFFECT)
just try it as there is no harm in trying and uninstaller flashable is provided too.
and DO READ FULL OP as zip for CM based roms is different than of stock based roms.
PS-All work is by that dev , am just sharing for those who haven't tried it
PS2- do take nandroid backup(in case)

Interesting. My AnTuTu score went down by about 5000 but the actual phone seems to be much quicker.
On my D851 it did speed up the device quite a bit, but it disabled my ad blocking so I uninstalled it.. Too bad.

leak memory issue all roms 5.0.1

What is the point of develop and release a Rom with memory leak??
I see this issue when I open webpages on Facebook or consult content via Play Kiosco,
also the battery drains faster and also it heats up
as I see no matter how much they work on that ROM. the problem still will remain
if Im wrong please tell me, because I'm thinking of downgrade my smartphone to 4.4.2

Workarounds have been found for the memory leak. There's even an Xposed module that's supposed to fix the issue.
The memory leak is old news.
And it's google who messed up, not the guys here at XDA.

my comment wasn't for the guys of XDA at all, I mean why Samsung keep releasing updates of a ROM with that issues, I read about that fix with exposed, but until yesterday there was not any method for installing it on touchwiz ROMs
I already did the downgrade, but if the exposed fix works, that would be great, I like the lollipop experience, but stability is more important

Touchwiz doesn't have the memory leak issue. The memory leak was caused by the boot animation. Samsung uses a different boot animation format (qmg) for their animation. That's probably why.

which one are you using??? does it comes with spanish language?
The memory leak was caused by the boot animation.

eXistenZ v10 port for locked bootloader, plus mods

Port is not my work. It's by @kavatzas7, originally posted here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69580000&postcount=214. That one only works on unlocked bootloader, so I swapped the boot img with stock Sony one, for use on locked. I also made many framework and system app mods, (shown in screensshot), including menus, toast, backgrounds and scrolling navbar, by @Ticklefish. If you want the rom and don't like my mods, just download both and replace boot img.
Notes...
- Flashing rom with stock boot img will remove your recovery, so you'll have to reflash recovery.
- Attempting to flash kavatsaz7's rom with locked bootloader will result in black screen, with no boot, even to recovery. You'll have to use Flashtool to get kernel/rom back on your phone.

It's been posted about this port that you will get reboots at first, but they will stop. I didn't port it, so can't help with technical stuff.
For notifications you can try LPThemer from Xposed, or replace your system ui with stock one, (you will also lose other systemui mods) or decompile systemui apk, and search xml files for color b32c3539, and change it to ff2c3539.
BTW, if anyone wants to try, I made a similar mod with some improvements for latest Dstrikersz1 build.

Ah, I see.. But it will start restart by itself if you click certain settings.
Thanks for answering. I found another problems tho, the internet speed seems so slow, it takes minutes to download small files from Play Store, even restoring things from WhatsApp took ages. And it seems killed app in the background because, once I open a messenger, it will flood by notifications.

It's a port, so not surprising to find bugs. The best part about eXistenZ is probably the customization, which is all there. Overall, it's a solid ROM, and the bugs are, for the most part, in the realm of extras, (although slow Internet is more of a real problem, but I haven't experienced that). If you want more of stability and less of extras, go for dstrikersZ1 ROM.
BTW - I never did quite finish modding this one, it's kind of messy looking. I got sidetracked with dstriker... I'll probably revamp this one and re-post.

So it is just me who have the problem with internet, is it because "doze" mode or something because I find that my phone will go to its deep sleep often, it does save battery but I don't quite like it, I keep missing phone calls or texts from people. Guess I will go back to DstrikersZ.
