Connectivity issue when using Comcast WiFi - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friends,
My device is GT-I9500 stock (non rooted) and I updated to stock Android 5.0.1 . I have both Data and WiFi enabled and Wifi connects to Comcast Xfinity Wifi router. Also the Smart Network Switch is enabled. The device get connected only few times but most of time that connects to Data.
If I switch off data then the WiFi does not work most of the time.
I can access the same Wifi from my laptop and no issues. Any help or anything that I am missing here?
Thanks.

Wifi tethering need help

Hy i need help here. I have GN3 LTE kitkat version, rooted and installed vpn apps. But somehow i cannot tether/hotspot my vpn through samsung hotspot or any other wifi tether router apps. Before, i can share the connection but i have to open iswat app so other people can connect through my hotspot. If i dont open the iswat app they will got stuck on obtaining when connecting through my hotspot. Before it was working fine but until now, whenever i share my vpn connection through hotspot, after i clicked iswat app, my data connection on my phone cannot receive or upload any data. Before there were no problem at all. I think iswat app was causing the problem because whenever i clicked the app, i cannot receive any data eventho my connection which is 3G is still there. Any fixes for this? Please i need help.

[Q] Please help with mobile hotspot

My problem is that my Lenovo A3000-H does not allow devices to access 2g internet neither through WiFi hotspot or USB modem. 2g internet works on its own, I can connect to WiFi hotspot and ping the Tab, however there is no internet no matter witch device I am using. Interesting thing is that if I connect A3000-H to the internet via WiFi and then connect it to my laptop via USB and use it as modem, my laptop has internet, but as soon as I disconnect WiFi on the Pad, 2g kicks in, but internet connection on my laptop dies.
Any help will be much appreciated.

WIFI & Mobile Data Simultaneously?

Hi, New poster so if I've posted in the wrong area please don't bite
I've been connecting my phone to a smart device (miracast-ing 'direct') but as of late the connection has become unstable and generally unusable. I had the brainstorm of using an old router to stabilize the connection, this seems to have done the trick but now I'm unable to access the mobile data as WIFI has assumed priority. Please bear in mind I don't have home internet so the router is being used solely as a go between for phone and smart device. Is there any possibility of WiFi connection whilst have access to mobile data or is this just a pipedream?
Thanks in advance
You can just start a wifi network from your phone, connect the smart devices to your phones wifi and use mobile data normal as internet connection (this is standard if you start a wifi network from phone). You wouldnt even need the router with this szenario, if the wifi signal of your phone isnt strong enough you can connect your router to the phone and extend the wifi with the router.

But creating a mobile hotspot won't help because it doesn't solve the faulty (actually non-existent) miracast connection, plus I don't need a hotspot because only the phone needs internet access. My earlier explanation was probably a bit vague.
My goal is to mirror my phone's screen but to also have internet access solely on my phone.
Phone➡Smart Device➡Display - Can't connect (used to work faultless).
Phone➡Router➡Smart Device➡Display - Connects but no mobile data available because the phone thinks the router has internet access covered.

Creating a hotspot is not for giving the other devices in your network internet access, this is the only way you can use the wifi on your phone with using mobile data at the same time. I dont know why but android devices never use mobile data when they are connected to a wifi network and there is no internet access available. So if you configure your router as a wifi repeater and setup the phone as base station, your wifi signal from phone to router should be good and you can connect your other devices to the router, the phone should see all devices in the same network if you stop the dhcp server in your router and only use the one from your phones hotspot. Should look like this :
Phone (with DHCP) <----Router---->Smart Device---> Display

Cheers will try it out.
Hopefully that sort of config is available on my router as it is loaded with a custom firmware from my old ISP provider.
Thanks

Router ISP custom firmware seems restrictive (no advanced wireless settings) plus WDS is not officially supported.
Possibly achievable but beyond my technical savvy
Thanks for the advice anyways.

Do not use WiFi 5Gz , use only 2,4Gz, and wifi 5Gz off for router and smartphone

Use LTE while connected to WiFi Camera

So, I recently got a camera that connects to my phone via WiFi to use as viewer. When connected to the WiFi camera, I can't surf the internet. I figured when the phone didn't detect internet connection through the WiFi it would use the mobile/LTE connection for internet. This seems to not be the case. Does anybody know of a way to force using the mobile/LTE connection while the phone thinks it's connected to a WiFi network? Thanks in advance.
