Battery Full Alert - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friends,
My device is GT-I9500 stock (non rooted) and I updated to stock Android 5.0.1 . Is there a way I can set some alarm sound when the charging of battery gets full?
I think I can use other Apps, may be like DU Battery or some. But looking for some out-of-box feature that I am missing?
Thanks.

I don't know about touchwiz lollipop but google's lollipop doesn't have anything like this.
Touchwiz kitkat had a notification which told you it was full. And the LED turned green at 100%.
Guess the only way is if you use apps. I use Battery Doctor to control my charging.

Hi GDReaper, Thank you. Yes 4.x was using LED and even the touchwiz lollipop used the green led for the purpose which goes unseen or unattended. So I was looking for a Sound/Alarm solution for this.
I heard about Battery Doctor but looks like so much advertisement, also looked at the DU Battery (not installed yet).
Thank you.

I used both. Didn't like DU.
Maybe with Tasker you can set an alert for when the battery is 100%.
Or there may be some other apps.

Notifications on full charge
Hey Prabhat,
You can try this app out: Battery Zen by Dwarka on the Google Play Store. It is a lightweight app ( Just 1.2 MB ) and provides customizable notifications to you when the battery is fully charged.
Cheers
Dwarka

[Q] Elelinux-7.0.0-RC2-Hero-v1.4

Hi everyone,
I am pretty new to this however thanks to this forum I was able to fairly easily flash my first custom rom onto my HTC Hero.
I went for Elelinux-7.0.0-RC2-Hero-v1.4... Works like a charm.
Just one question since 2.1 (official release), when switching the off button there is no longer an option to switch the internet off
Is there anyway this can be re-added as I find it quite useful when travelling through Europe (ability to quickly enable/disable)
can try use 2 methods:
1. Apps like Apndroid to toggle data off/on
2. create a data off/on toggle at notification status bar via, I think something like Menu/Setting/CM setting/Interface/notification power widget
Thanks puppyko, installed APN on/off Widget and it does the trick...
Does anybody however know how to get it r-eadded to the Phone Options menu? (off screen options)
Glad the suggestion served you well
Any options that is available under Phone Option Menu will supposely come together with the ROMs. So I think only the ROM developers can do it. But this will be of low priority for any developers as there are already few other ways of toggle data off/on.
Hi,
Battery question:
My battery is empty at ~3500mV/~5%. A Li-ion cell drained when its voltage is ~3000mV. I have tried wipe battery stats when battery fully charged, and drained it. It didn't helped.
Is there any solution to use the battery full capacity?
I had tried the aboved wipe battery stats method few times before..
It didn't help prolong my battery usage..it just performed battery calibration, that is wiped the battery statistic as to at what voltage the reading would be 100% (I think).
Of course, many others had tried the wipes and claimed it helped.
Nowadays, I just charged the phone to full 100% with phone turned on (instead of switched off and charge).
I found charging this way, the fully charged voltage can go higher at around 4.2V instead of just 4.05V when charging with phone turned off.
So with this higher charge, with no usage, my 100% can stay almost half my working day.
But with internet usage on 3G, wifi..such as using browser surfing net, the drainage would easily reduced 20% within an hour.

Spot on.
Add the widget, make sure you tick "Data Sync" and "2G/3G".
Also check out the Wifi options (further down the menu) where you can automatically disable OTA internet etc.

it could simply mean the the led still flashes when its charging. it does not flash for me because i am charging.
edit: i guess you could get a battery widget or something. if it has a notification... it will light up the led. might have to use that led app or have a rom with led functionality built in like aokp does and then assign a color to the battery deal.
I have no notification light when charging either.. maybe that's normal or bug?
use lightflow.

Since most of them are saying while charging there is no notification light .. i guess thats normal .
I have no notification LED on neither when charging. I think this is normal.

Correct...no light when charging. If you want that, get Lightflow from the market. Gives you full control of the light including different colors for different notifications which is absolutely a necessity as far as I'm concerned.
Same here, no light when charging/charged. Would have preferred it slowly flashing when charging, and being constant when charged, so you know to disconnect it when fully charged. Will check out the app mentioned above, but prefer these things from stock as having these various apps running in the background would contribute to battery drain I guess?

I know that by default, this phone does have a charging light. Mine worked right out of the box. But after a few days, it stopped working. I also have a friend who had the same issue. His solution was to also use Light Flow... It crushed his battery life. I'd rather avoid using a third party app and figure out why the stock setting is no longer working.
I think that is what many of you are attempting to do, correct?

I use lightflow and monitor my battery daily. It will not crush your battery life in my experience. Check out the thread in the apps section. The app creator posts there and will help with the app.

If I remember correctly the pc software will auto install when you first connect the phone to your PC
You will have to root your phone and have a custom recovery to install the 4.3.1 camera. You have to copy the zip file over to your phone and flash it using the recovery.
You will need a USB otg cable to connect peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, usb drive. USB dac

Yup had the proper software... New issue my battery life is dreadful.. got 2.5 hours screen time at 70% brightness and screen has only used 20% of the battery.. Android System has used 35% and Android OS 13% (its caused the phone to stay awake for 4 hours but its stopped now). I have google now enabled but have disabled the location services so that shouldn't be causing issues. Also I've only been using apps and not gaming at all. I have DS Battery Saver to force deepsleep.
Also wakelock detector is posting totally inaccurate stats. Isn't there any other app like it? HELPPPPPPPPPP!
Ok It seems the wakelocks are caused my the alarm_rtc and Power Management service. I've reduced syncing to a minimum and also turned off GPS... Additionally, does anyone know a app like Sony's Stamina Mode where wifi-data is auto off when the screen is off and no app needs it?

You shouldn't really need any of those things anymore. My advice is to just use it for a couple of days and see how it goes. Rooting it and freezing as much LG bloat as you can and using Lux to control the display is also a good advice.
WiFi uses minimal power, you can safely leave it on along with GPS and NFC and still make the phone last all day with intense usage (excluding sitting around flashing and modding your phone all day ofcourse )
You should try Better Battery Stats for getting good battery data.

That's exactly what I've used... I' managed to get 4 hours screen time which isn't bad but considering only 20% of my battery was used by the screen, I'm sure it will do much better... I'm charging it now again..
I wouldn't neccecarily interpret the battery stats that way. Whenever you have your screen on, you also increase battery consmption by associated services. I don't think the much-referenced screen on time is a good measurement as general usage pattern.
It also depends if you have WiFi where you are, and if your coverage is good. I use only a third the battery when at university with good LTE coverage and constant wifi than at work, with no wifi and poor reception.
If you don't actually have problems with the battery after removing all the LG cruft in the system, I'd recommend just being content with how it is. If the phone doesn't have enough battery to last two full days, then how much juice it has left after a day with intense usage shouldn't really matter much, providing it does last through it.

Well its much better now with the second recharge... Its about 16% Android System (Can't really do anything about this)... 12% Android OS with most of the wakelocks coming from the damm power management service... Google search was causing quite a bit of drain so turned off google now for now... Even Siri is better and musn't be causing so many damm ****ing wakelocks...

I have another general question. When you swipe up the home button to access google now and quick memo, is there a way to add more options to that swiping? I've seen a picture on Andoid Authority where you could also access voice mate etc...

[Q] Screen Render Rate Drops After Certain Battery Level

Hi,
I'm a Samsung Galaxy S4 user (I9500XXUGNF6). with rooted stock rom (4.4.2) installed.
After the battery level %25-%30; screen render rate drops dramatically (in app's like Candy Crush Saga)
When i plug the charger, it returns to normal. Or when the battery is full or nearly full.
This occurs almost two weeks on my device.
No background processes, wiped ram repeatedly.
Restarted the device and tried,
Wiped cache partition... But no solution.
I'm waiting for your advices.
Thanks all.
It's obviously some battery saving feature which activates at around 30%.
Plugging the charger deactivates the thing because it doesn't require battery anymore.

The rom has an in-built battery saver. I think it was called Power Save. It should be in the status bar on stock kitkat roms.

Thanks but i never use that option and checked again and it is still deactivated.
it may be related to DVFS. Dynamic Voltage something. It's basically a performance limiter. Try disabling that.

disabled dvfs..i was hopeful about that solution but not worked for me..
i will reflash the rom again i think..

Galaxy S5 Sucks On battery life!

Help Please!!
Battery is draining extremely FAST!!
Did everything including wipe system and wipe cache
Using TWRP
Refashed the ROM
But didnt solve the POOR battery drain issue.
Here is a story of the problem i am having
I charge the phone on a evening to 100%
I then go to sleep with 100%
Wifi Is off location is off
The only thing i have is my alarm clock to wake me up (Which works)
Wake up and realise that my battery had dropped to around 70% just on idle with alarm
I used the Wakelock Detector [ROOT] to detect any wakelock stuff
Then greenified pretty much every app except the google and some omni stuff because it said not hibernating.
Reflashed ROM, i have nothing at all installed,NOTHING,no app from the play store
Just stock Gapps.
Still the battery is draining like usual.
See Below For Photos
What does Mobile Network Mean and why is it soo red?
Can someone help me please or at least suggest a suggestion that could work.
I dont want to go to linegeOS as it is too plain.
Thanks for reading this
By the looks of it, it seems that you are running a custom Rom so I can see why you'd be confused. My question is are you still using a stock battery because I had a similar problem with mine running stock so I flashed Resurrection and I still had battery drain problems. I would recommend purchasing an aftermarket battery from Powerbear on Amazon. It's around $20 which is quite step compared to purchasing another stock battery but (speaking from experience) it's worth the purchase.
