Identical to now. Just like lowering the resolution on a monitor doesnt save electricity.

Different resolution.
Resolution is amount of pixels available, not amount of pixels powered.

In phone arena have 2% of battery percent, but for 3d have great increase

Ok, i understand that. for example if i watch a 2 hours movie at 720p.
then same movie at 1440p they will consume same amount of battery.

The article linked? Didn't really see a difference.

Does it need to be rooted? I'm on lollipop, will it work? Thanks

Disabling low fps in the UI. End result: The most fluid phone you will use.

First of I created this thread because it seemed like people where having success in getting rid of the lag and stutter they see. Ill explain why LG implements this in their phone later on. First of lets get to binness.
The option is hidden in the dailer menu. Its the last option called dynamic LCD refresh off/on.
Here is a pic:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When you press it, select screen fps and it should disable the dynamic fps system which reduces the UI frame rates and causes perceived mild stutters. Shut the phone off for 10 seconds and then turn it back on. The settings should stick.
60fps is smoother than any phone I have ever owned. This phone never lagged out of the box. LG implemented this feature that changes the screen refresh rate dynamicly. So while you are using your phone normally in the UI, it drops the animation FPS to 30 fps. This apperantly conserves battery.
It is kinda like the same thing that Nvidia does with their mobile gtx 800m GPU's. They give the user the option to set a target frame rate and then the cpu/gpu only works hard enough to meet the target fps, never working harder than it has to. This is basically bringing down CPU/GPU utilization and saving battery life.
Example: If I where to play Titan Fall on my PC and set the target frame rate to 60fps, my CPU/GPU avarage utilization will be 80%. If i set the target fps to 30fps the my CPU/GPU avarage utilization will be 60%, saving me battery life.
I hope this makes sense, and I created this thread to give some people awareness about this option. The 801 soc breezes through this QHD display.
Update: For people who are having sticking issues, try to enable both of these options. It is not a 100% though, but try your luck.
I'll give it a shot. I personally don't know how much better this phone could get for how I use it.
---------- Post added at 01:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 PM ----------
I followed the instructions but after boot it did not stick so I will see if it sticks by just switching off and just using the phone with a reboot.
My setting also did not stick after a reboot, but it seems smoother... doesn't make any sense unless I'm imagining things.
Sent from my LG G3
Is battery life the only downside to doing this or could it affect the life of the display over time?
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
Mine stuck for me after a reboot. Definitely feels quicker on its feet. I'll report back with any additional battery info or if I'm just imagining things.
Thanks op

I'm not brave enough to install that unsigned apk. I did score almost 58k in the standard antututu. Too be honest both these numbers are a lot lower then what I was thinking. Most of the results were on par with the exynos 5420 other then the mali gpu which scored nearly 20k (double the 5420 mali). Even the storage io numbers weren't radically different Despite their claims of high performance internal storage.
Anyways benchmarks usually only tell a small part of the story and there could be other things at play here that I have yet to discover. I'm hoping we see kernel source for this device soon.
I think this kind of benchmark is more useful and interesting as it correlates with something in real-life, like actual use of the device:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHb6IlmmV2o
Here's mine for those that care.
Do you have any battery temperature readings when running the Antutu?
Hehe, I see there was a typo in your original measurement

Throw Out Your Z5 Marshmallow SoT Screenshot

Hi all,
Lemme give you some of my information about my Z5 before we throw our SoT screenshot.
I bought it on UK amazon last October and it was international version. I checked it on Xperifirm and it said mine was taiwan version.
I was having battery drain problem and was guessing the problem was because different region might cause battery drain problem due to mobile data support. So I flashed it on US version and wanted to compare the battery life before and after update.
Due to new user policy I am not allowed to post the link to my SoT image, so i might just let you guys throw out screenshots. But for me I got 3h 43m screen on time when the battery is 16%. I unplugged the charge at 10am in the morning and record it at 1 am next day.
So here it is guys. If you updated your Z5 to 6.0 would you mind throwing out your SoT screenshot and give a comment about how you think about the battery performance for marshmallow so far.
Have a nice day!

I updated recently so haven't had the chance to check battery time yet, but back on 5.x I noticed a huge difference when I uninstalled the Facebook app. I replaced it with just the mobile version since its nearly just as good anyways.
I don't use snapchat, but Facebook is on mine with emails constantly using data. Mostly on WiFi except about an hour a day.
Yesterday was a day for testing and making sure it all work. Wasn't a normal day, but you should be getting a little more. If you have just updated leave it a few days. Could be just setting up.

New Battery Life Discussion

I know there are many like this. But some have very basic methods, that may or may not work. Since most/all threads are currently inactive, I thought of creating a new one. MOD: YOU CAN DELETE THIS THREAD IF YOU WISH
So let's start giving this 2 year old phone, a battery life. Every post claiming with tips/tricks should also provide a screenshot of their Screen On Time, and Time on Battery (since unplugged/ full charge)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...crypted-galaxy-s6-battery-life-t3120047/page2
The above is a link to an xda thread, where a person claimed to have some improvements in battery life due to encryption.
There is no tricks or adjustments. there is no way we are in the hands of Samsung for some we expect updates

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Huawei P20 Lite before depleting the battery.

Hallo hallo
You are comparing a Windows Phone with an Android XD
Not joking but they are 2 completely different Operating Systems, while Windows Phone OS is so much better in performance and will probably always be since Android is in Emulation forever on Linux... YIKES. Right now the Windows Phone OS lost too many apps, but for me will be best overall OS on a phone ever. With 1GB or 2GB of RAM and a Quad Core CPU and it has outstanding performance comparing to a 6GB of RAM and an Octa Core CPU smartphone(any) running Android LOLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!
This will always be the truth. IOS is the second one right now btw.
I also love Sailfish OS but I haven't really tested a device with it yet
I got 6h sot and still had 20% battery. Mostly watching youtube videos, searching the web, stuff like that. I think it ended up at 6h and 30min when I was about 13-14% and put it to charge.
You can compare them as phones... without OS. Is true Microsoft is far better as power management but they pulled out from the market. The 640XL was serious outdated. Also I had problems with apps like .. the one I use for my electric toothbrush Oral-B 9000 Genius, No app from my bank to use the NFC payment and so on.
I give up though not because the apps... but because the low RAM 1Gb compared with 4Gb...
If I can find a nice 950 XL I have no seconds thoughts, I buy it!
These results come after heavy use of the P20 Lite. Mostly YouTube, Mobile Games(resource intensive) and Music Streaming.
