Firefox OS from LG Fireweb on Optimus L5?

Hey guys. Not sure if you have seen this. Some information about a new LG phone with Firefox OS just came out, the phone is called LG Fireweb. I took a quick peek at the specifications and dimensions of the phone, and it seems almost identical to our good old Optimus L5. It basically has the same layout, only some minor design changes. Could it be possible that the new LG Fireweb borrowed L5's platform?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_7sTP7IRn4
Not sure about you guys, but I am very curious about this. If both phones have the same hardware, how possible would it be to extract Firefox OS from the new LG Fireweb and install it on our Optimus L5's?
Its not the same, because the cpu is different,it have 1ghz and we have 800mhz.
Maybe it can ported,maybe.
YOURE BORN AS A ORIGINAL,DONT DIE AS A COPY!!!!GREEEEETZ!!!
Well, google "boot2gecko" and will you know how it's made.
Maybe it can be ported, if the essential hardware is almost the same (FireWeb's CPU could be an overclocked version of the MSM7225A).
But since boot2gecko is open source, you can try to download all the sources and try to compile it for our devices (it will be hard, though  ).
don't know you guys know or not but l5 was official b2g device for quite some time
Didnt know this,thanx for info.

Hey guys. I am looking for one person or a few people to help me port Firefox OS on L5 II (e460). And I can help with porting on L5. So, if anyone is interested, let me know. I am currently stuck on some kind of error, but it's not the first one, so... I guess I'm gonna need more than five days to build alpha version of firefox OS for L5. Want help. Or TO help someone.
i would love to help u . i can help u with test builds and other small things . thanks for taking the initiative !

[Q&A][HELP]Questions & Help Thread. Noob-Friendly

Hello guys/gals, I am back this time bringing you a very useful thread for y'all newbs and noobs on the internets coming across this thread and seeking help. I will be trying to help you if possible, not only LG L3/L5/L7 but also on this thread you can ask, POLITELY for a stable or smooth kernel/rom. A part of my motivation for starting this thread is for helping people but also for trying to get the Recognised Contributor  . But the main goal of this thread is for HELPING.
Anyways, let's make the form that i want from you:
-device (L3/L5/L7/whatever)
-ROM name, Android version
-kernel name/version (if downladed from here)
-the issue that you are facing, with as many details as possible and some description of the steps you did and where you got stuck.
-if requested, Logcat
4 simple requirements and I or any other OptimaTeam member who knows will try to help you out. Good luck and have a good day. :highfive:

Hey Developers,
I have already built a CM ROM from source for my LG Optimus L7, which wasn't that hard. But now I want to build a ROM from Android Source (AOSP). So my question is: Can somebody give me a guide for the L7 or some advice for building an AOSP ROM?
Thanks:good:

From AOSP you will have to take almost exactly the same steps. Basically there is nothing different to building CM, AOSP, PAC, CarbonRom, etc., but the source of compilation is different and also the thing you will have to do is add the device specific libraries etc. into the AOSP rom sources on your PC and then compile.

[Q] [L5/L7] Android L 5.0 or 4.4 with features from 5.0

I want to ask all developers for L3, L5 and L7 devices @ALEX.IMER @Asce1062 @skyinfo @F4uzan @-CALIBAN666- I don't know others
Is there any L rom on xda to port for ours LG devices or that can build from sources?
We have good kernels IMER for L7, skyinfo for L5. Can you all do something incredible together?
Team work, all good developers can do the best rom for our devices
Why you have one hundred roms? Better idea is to do one and the best when you all work together, you can do all
I only give an advice
Best idea for now,we dont need ten KitKat roms,we need one, with good performance and without bugs and battery drain, but, only conflict will be donations, but, money is not what we need, there is more important thing, respect and friendship u know. Best wish for this idea,I love it.

But thats all if developers accept this.
That will be great
You forgot @PecanCM
Anyway, my internet connection is soooo 'awesome' that I cannot build ROMs (15-30GB).. Only Kernel.. (~150MB) since I have [email protected] limited plan..
As for L, we need to wait for Google to official release source, it has to be adapted by CyanogenMod then only someone can start building it. As for port, its impossible to port L from Nexus devices to our L series..

I don't think about that for porting.
Thanks for reply
Then can you all good developers use some good base for some new project
Users need rom with a lot features and with good performance and battery life
I believe in our developers, they can do everything
[This is a great idea. I support this. I hope that my l7 finally working properly. great suggestion. Regards for Paget96
+1 for this.
Right now we have great developers, from team-optima and on Imers side and to pecan.
These groups created roms after another and now we have a couple of them. With exception to pecan w/c have cm11.
Paget s suggestion is really good. At least each group should create one stable roms for daily use , which at least one member maintain it while others will create new roms.
As I understand it, the OP is suggesting only one ROM, that is created and maintained by all developers that find the Optimus L-series worth the trouble.
Which sounds like a really good idea to me.
the LG "L" series are not dead ,with our great devs ! cool !
for new android 5.0 "Lollipop" ,it's too early ! we have to wait many many months !!!
=> google "full" release ( but "pure" , for nexus ,no much parameters ,not interresting at all )
==> CM teams have to develop many things ( very hard work ! )
===> others known teams have to wait some CM features or develop themselves ( very hard work here too ! )...... for to build new gerrits ! it's long and hard work ! it's "alpha" at the begining and "beta" with some buggs after ...long to solve all isssus
====> and then ,LG "L" series developpers begin to build their rom with these sources (experimental ,alpha and beta ... ) BUT they have to rebuild a solid own phone three-source before !
by chance ,maybe some 4.4.4 parts of roms can work , but it need some work for to have a "stable" functioning ...
=====>and at the same time ,they have to develop a great and best new kernel as well as possible (the most important on the rom !!! )
it's a "titan" work and "L" seem to be not a KK evolution but a total new system because called 5.0 ( KK is a simple evolution of JB because 4.1.2 ,4.2.2 ,4.3.1...and 4.4.2, 4.4.3, 4.4.4 ) and google have anounced himself big changes too ...
And i begin to agree ! thousands roms is useless ...
A CM11 is essential !!! it's very popular ,is simple but functional ! impossible not to have it !it's vital ,essential ...
LiquidSmooth is a great idea but too many parameters ,complex ,charged ( not good for many people at all )
I would prefer a Dirty Unicorns ...
Carbon would be a better choise :good:
For my L7 ,i REALLY regrets that there are not an "unoficial" stock firmware ==> in KK 4.4.4 version...... built with last CM11 sources enought stable for example ( or others customs ,but without halo pie,hover,omni-switch..etc...all extra completely useless ,just useful parameters )..... and with all LG G3 apps + LG G3-Home + some widgets ported .......and full themed "LG-G3 !!!
Or full stable 4.3.1 variant ,with CM10.2.1.3 sources , because full finished .
I doubt if Pecan CM would ever team up
He is usually the lone soldier ..
But, from 4.2+, (I came to xda just a year back), he has done all the hard work, the kernel, the device tree upon which other ROMs are built!
It'll take some time, 1month at least, for L5/L7 to get L love.. Then CM have to update to L (lot of work)..
Unfortunately, this is my last year at school, and most important, so I won't be able to contribute anything much (no time, and an 'awesome' internet) but when I get time, I'll try bringing up SKernel for L
Which will include L7 too!
The benefit of that is, no matter for which (P700/705) L7 its built for, just flash it, and you'll get deep sleep
Keep this thread alive and kicking
"only" 1 month for to have a "Lollipop" ??? ,i don't think ........ "maybe" first correct alpha/beta on december by chance (or January 2015) ... no ?!
too many work ...
@PecanCM , it's sure that he have done a real titanic work ! he is a god ! one of the best dev that i have see ( all inclusive devises ) ...
it's a real pity that he didn't have a L7 P700 !
there are an another dev who really miss for L7 ,it's the other god "Tudorsirb" ! :crying:

If i would be back there,in 2008/2009 i would've seen the Mithical Three in action @Turdosirb
@Cybojenix(or whatever the name) @PecanCM
Go read the old topic, with that in mind think about what lays ahead.
I came too late, brought a F***ed Up phone and not the main phone(e610/e612)so lost the party.
Development will slowly die
As now with @ALEX.IMER @optimateam @C3pt @alltheotherfantasticdevs are making the best out of L5/L7.
But they forgot the little brother.
Arm v7 device, now older than ever, the little L3 has lost its battle for "survival" in xda.The only devs remaining are lost, without much help and WITHOUT SOURCES
@fergy @soraaj @hecatae @hecaex and the pure4team are working,but they're late. @linuxxx is very good,but still didn't provide official/stable CM and is currently focusing on MI devices.
And me,well i'm shifting device.
After much thinking,i decided i won't be working on L3 anymore.
I'm getting either Moto E(it needs devs) either Nexus 4(its a nexus=open source,very reliable,[colour:red]LG[coluor:red]
You decide,i farly won't abandon you,don't worry.
I think that once @optimateam will move out this forum section there won't be big activity as now.
I shall wait for pure4team to finish 3.x kernel and AOSP KK.

I know your desperation. I had the exact same desperation, when I got my Lenovo (MTK) as a gift.. All I could do was just root.. Not even CWM was possible..

I'd suggest you go for Moto E! Various reasons, can PM you that if you need it

Thanks buddy,i appreciate knowing that you know how i feel
For this project we shall need the "creme de la creme"of devs, cause porting stuff from Arm v8 shall be pretty difficult--->provide many headaches
But i think that, seeing this fantastic community all helping each other, maybe we can make it.
Even without device,i can build kernel(we shall see maybe with 32 bit you can't build new kernel, who knows)so count on me
For reasons @skyinfo i'd like to hear 'em buddy
Anyway i think i'll go for Moto E

@Loulou-13 i know how you feel too.I'd like to make my lil beloved L3 retire in a good way,but sincerely i think that
leaving it with a buggy CM9 is pretty damn horrible way to leave a 1 GHz Snapdragon S1 with Adreno 200 and a freak'in 381 MB RAM legacy (lets admit it guys, this is the best legacy device ever,it overcome SAMSUNG GALAXY CORE!!!!wich now is full of s**t in it's poor forum section)
device.
Anyway,my lil L3 shall retire with a very good custom GB rom, with 1 GHz OC and 1 GB system memory.
If one day i shall boot him,i shall smile

Lollypop porting

As some of you know i'm working on a N6 (because of the qhd screen) lollypop port since 1 month (really?^? sooo much to port 1 rom?) ^^
My last result is a half bricked device because of kernel incompatibility with L... (i'm lucky that i still can pull out the battery).. The only kernel source available is the Lg one.. some of you like @Tectas made an incredible job with their source (thank you.. you really helped me a lot for developing, and thanks to @sykopompos for his incredible help and friendship). Anyway main problem with L is not the rom itself...everything it's in place and surprisingly it's recognized by the bootloader in last_kmsg... the real problem is an error that i coulden't get rid of.. is a kernel panic due to the MODEM! Here the link to see what happened.. Googling for that error i found a lot of people with the same problem in old version of android but no one with a fix (aww c'mon!!) anyway... i tried every possibile fix cherry-picking and coding for bypass or avoid or to solve this problem...but it remains... any help would be appreciated but i'm afraid we'll all need to wait for LG to release the L source for G3.
If someone wants to help i'm really happy to work with everyone

If I were you I'd wait for a proper bring up of G3 + CM to 5.0, there are to many variables to this, I mean heck, even on 4.4.4 when i build I deal with a ton of build errors I need to solve.
IF you got LP to even boot on the G3 it would prob work very bad at this point.
just my 2 cents
i'm not sure at this point because all the hardware is recognized by the bootloader but at that point the modem get a fatal error that is not even described..

did you by chance check out the 4.4.4 kernels for lg g3 on the modem part. I know they're different, but maybe it might give you some clues on how to fix the code.
wich kernels?
Are you trying port 5.0 from the n6 system img? Probably never going to work bud
