You should read this thread.
I went with the International version for several reasons, some of which may not apply in your case:
1. It was cheaper.
2. It has the FM radio, whereas U.S. versions do not.
3. I am using AT&T as my carrier via Straight Talk, which does not have LTE support, so while having an LTE model may result in potentially higher resale down the line, it offers no immediate benefits to me personally.
International.
$579 today.
HSPA+ is fast enough for Netflix HD streaming, which is fast enough for me. LTE is neat, but drains battery and you are at AT&T's mercy for updates. No thanks.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Samsung...nlocked-Android-Smartphone-/321014760193?var=
so, its tru that if i use a LTE phone, in an area where there is no LTE coverage, the batery drains faster?
also, i'm from mexico, and also i have a prepaid plan, and no carrier has LTE,
i has has used AT&T phones, (galaxy s2 skyrocket, the Galaxy note i717), but now, i'm not sure about geting the att note 2, or
the international....
and what about the T-mobile version? its good enough?
Go with the international one. No LTE means longer battery. No AT&T bloatware crap. FM radio. And it's cheaper.

+1 For all of the above. International version also receives updates from Samsung before the AT&T Note 2.

Hi guys! I've been reading lots of threads and specs from the different variants of note 3. After all of them, I ended worst because now I can't decide myself for the version, this is what happens:
I am from Argentina, LTE is being settled and it uses band 4 (1700 for upload, 2100 for download). So this are my options (I don't have too much money so I'm limited to top US $500, I'm buying it there in US).
- AT&T Version (SM - N900A) has the band 4 for my country's LTE. The thing is I see it does not come with headphones and the other matter is, if I buy it unlocked, is it FACTORY unlocked even though is AT&T?
- SM - N9005. I found in all the forum and different web sites that this is the best version (mainly because of hardware). I really would like to buy this one, because I think it would be possible to activate band 4 with modem changes. The only problem is I've seen in the forum no one could (YET, but.. do you see it possible? I don't mind waiting)
- SM - N9000 (International Exynos version). Here in my country they sell only this one. I am buying it in US though because it's really cheaper. If I get this one I know I won't get LTE, but it seems there ir far more support in the SM - N9005.
I want to buy SM-N9005, but if I buy an LTE version and cannot use LTE... is it worth it (due to the other specs)? I don't find AT&T convincing so I try not to buy it.
Which do you recommend me to buy? And I would also be grateful if you reccommend me where to do it. I only know ebay and amazon almost all sellers there have some negative feedback.
Thanks!

Buy note 4 mate. Better than note 3.
Thanks Fadhi, that's what i'll do!
From what I read about the Note 6 the device is going to be a beast. These are rumors but:
6-inch flexible display
Android 6.0.1
4K Resolution
16-Core processor
Exynos + Snapdragon Chipset
6 GB RAM
32, 64, 128 GB Internal Storage
Micro SD card support (200 GB)
20 MP Primary camera
4000 mAh Battery
Also I read it will come with a dock so this thing is going to replace some computers with these specs.
I need to get it when it comes out in August but obviously it's going to be locked down on Verizon. What do you guys think the best carrier to buy it from to have it work on the Verizon network, unlocked, and eventually rooted? I think Sprint is the only other carrier using CDMA technology so I'm thinking to buy the Note 6 from Sprint full price without a contract. Any thoughts?

US Cellular is CDMA. I to am tired of Verizon, but I just read an article that the S7 and S7 edge are locked down on T-Mobile and Sprint just like our Verizon Note 4's. That just leaves US Cellular but they might be dm-verity locked down too for all I know. No more Samsung phones for me. Nexus looks like the only way to go anymore.
I bought a USC Note 4 with the intent of having it unlocked and using it on Verizon. I was prepared for the only band incompatibility being that USC doesn't broadcast on band 13 LTE, so the phone didn't support that band. Band 4 LTE is supported... which is verizon's "XLTE" (the fast one)... and in most places I go, band 4 is prevalent. So... you should install LTE Discovery and see what bands you connect to everywhere to make sure you'll get LTE when you need it. In short... you won't get the most thorough LTE coverage with US Cellular... but it may be a non-issue to you if Band 4 is prevalent where you need it.
As far as my experience with that Note 4... I never got far enough to try. Turned out that the device I bought on Amazon was essentially "stolen" from the carrier because the device was still on a payment plan... which wasn't being paid on. And surprise! They wouldn't unlock a blacklisted phone. I filed a claim with Amazon, and I got a full refund. Better yet... I got to keep the device. I ended up buying a Developer Edition Note 4, and now my 2yr old son and I have the same phone. (It can't be used on ANY carrier now that it's blacklisted... but it's great for playing non-internet-connected games and episodes of PAW Patrol.)
PM me if you have questions about anything from above this line.
If they sell a Dev Edition of the Note 6... I'm buying one, even if I have to sell a kidney. But, I don't think I'll have to make that difficult decision. There's about as much chance of Samsung making (or should I say Verizon allowing Samung to make) another Developer Edition phone as there is a chance that I'll grow a spare 3rd kidney to sell.

I didn't look into the other variants of the S7... but I'm saddened at the notion that even T-Mo has locked it down. I was in a T-Mo store a few months ago, hoping that the coverage was going to get better in my area. I asked if T-Mo would ever lock the bootloaders like Verizon insists upon, and he said no. If the S7 is bootloader-locked in all variants (from Samsung, not by the carrier)... it's got to be because they want to push Samsung Pay, which shouldn't work if the phone is rooted. Ugh... what a shame. They should just do it like Nexus phones... Android Pay just doesn't work if you're rooted. If you restore to stock, it works again. No need to lock the device down just to make sure one feature will always work.
Also... don't forget about Motorola phones in addition to Nexi. These are the only mainstream "carrier-agnostic" phones being produced, but there are more like the Nextbit Robin, which just got TWRP. By "carrier-agnostic" I mean they are sold direct from the manufacturer with all carrier bands enabled by default. CDMA, GSM, etc.
So what do you think are we still gonna be stuck with a locked bootloader?
Straight Talk is my carrier and I have the ATT note 4. The coverage is amazing since it is a ATT phone and runs off the ATT towers.
I talked to straight talk today and they said I could get a T-Mobile Note 7 and it would run off the T-Mobile towers.
When I went to Canada last moth my AT&T Note 4 got me from Rochester NY to Toronto with no issues what so ever.
I feel like I will have to decided if I want to keep the better coverage on the AT&T towers and have no root option based on the locked bootloader or go with the T-Mobile to have a unlocked bootloader with crappie tower coverage.
What do you thing guys? Also what date is the release of the Note 7 with 6gb of RAM?
Thanks,
Shawna

Note 7 won't have 6GB Ram. That was a rumor, unfortunately. The Note 7 will have 4GB Ram, which is still quite a bit for a phone.
I'm thinking that the Note 7 will have a locked bootloader on ATT. There may be a way to bypass it though like the S6 and S7. The Note 4 was locked down extremely tight, but ATT also had a contract to supply Note 4's to US government workers, so it had to be extremely secure. AFAIK, the Note 7 doesn't have any such contract associated with it, so locked bootloader or not, we may at least be able to bypass it. It may not happen right away though.
All this is my personal, non-professional speculation.

I'm hoping we can use a modified version of the file that was used to root the s7 and s7 edge since the cpu is the same.
I originally got an ATT Note4, but quickly switched to a TMO Note4 as soon as they got root. I paid to have the TMO Note4 unlocked and use my ATT sim in it. My hope is...worst case scenario I can do the same thing with the Note7. I get great ATT reception from the TMO phone since they were both designed to work on the same frequencies.

Official confirmation from Samsung that puts an end to all those rumors you have been hearing about a new top-end variant of the just-launched Galaxy Note 7. The head of Samsung Mobile, Koh Dong-jin, has confirmed that a Galaxy Note 7 variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage does exist. Don’t get your hopes up too high just yet though, because that variant will be China-specific and is unlikely to see daylight in other markets.

So at this point I've got 2 nano sims for a Note 7 when I purchase it to use on straight talk. One is for the ATT towers on ST and the other is for T-Mobile. So now the debate is what one. Essentially I could get the T-Mobile note 7 unlocked and use it with the straight talk sim for the ATT towers right?

Buy International Version, T-Mobile or AT&T Version? (AT&T Member, Paying Full Price)
I'm going to be purchasing the Galaxy Note 7 outright, cash, no payment plan. My ATT Galaxy S4 has a locked bootloader to this very day and it sucks. This is the first time I'll be purchasing the phone outright, so I know I have more options. Here is what I want to know:
1. Can I purchase the T-Mobile Version of the phone and use my ATT sim without any issues? Don't they use the same frequencies and GSM network?
2. If I purchase the international version, does it support all carriers, or only those on the GSM network? I will be traveling to Europe about once a year, so the international version of this phone seems like the best way to go. I just don't know the differences are between it and the ATT version. I know once a phone is unlocked, it can be used internationally, like my Galaxy S4, so maybe the international version isn't that important? (Where can I buy the international version?)
3. Is it best to still buy the ATT version so I can use all of their technologies, such as HD voice and wifi-calling? I don't plan on leaving ATT anytime soon. I also heard that the Snapdragon processor is actually better this time around and the GPU as well if you go with the US version of the phone.
Here is how I plan to use this phone. I'm willing to wait for root, but at some point I want it.
1. I plan to root it and use xposed framework.
2. I want to be able to use samsung pay
3. I want to use the fingerprint reader and the iris scanner.
4. I eventually want to flash ROMs when they stop supporting the phone.
5. I must be able to use mobile hotspot no matter what.
So what do you all recommend I do? Thank you very much for your valuable input!

T-mobile has many compatible bands, to be very specific
T-Mobile
Quad Band GSM; UMTS: Band I (2100), Band II (1900), Band IV (1700/2100), Band V (850); LTE: 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17
AT&T
4G-LTE Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, and 29
3G - UMTS 850/1900/2100MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Wi-Fi connectivity 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/r
So the T-Mobile variant is missing 2 LTE bands that AT&T uses (20 and 29).
The international version will be able to use root, custom firmwares, unlocked bootloaders, and whatever else you want. the att version will be so locked down you'll see a 20k bounty begging someone to unlock it, and it may or may not ever get unlocked. I'm still holding my breath for someone to unlock my att note 4. (and that's unlock for root, we wouldn't even dream of an unlocked bootloader..)
any att features will be bundled with the first wave of custom roms, so don't worry.
the international model offers more color options, faster octacore processor, better battery life, far superior sound quality thanks to the dedicated DAC, and will support dolphin emulator, which t-mobile and att will not.
the international version will be the best phone no debate. the only reasons to consider getting the t-mobile or att one is convince of getting it in store, plus best buys sd card bundle.
I'm getting the sexy international gold one myself, uncompromised power, battery life, gonna sound great on my new speakers, finally be able to play some super smash on my phone again, just haven't found a place to buy it from yet.
I encourage more people to chime in on this, good luck!
You should check this link to ensure phone model works on whichever carrier before buying:
http://willmyphonework.net/
I wish I'd known about this link years ago!
So, no sd card bundle with international version? That sd card is the only reason it might be worth paying $900 for a phone...
Where can I get the International version of the phone? I don't need Dual Sims. I looked on Amazon and they only list the Dual Sim model.
I think what I need is the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 N930F. B&H Photo Video has it for preorder with a limited B&H warranty. Does the International Model still have a 1-year warranty from Samsung?

Do you have proof? The T-Mobile S7 shipped with a locked bootloader. All U.S. S7's did. So the international model is the only viable option for modders.
Does anyone know if the international version will work on Straight Talk? I currently have a ATT note 4 on my Straight Talk Sim? I just want to make sure I don't loose out on any features.
Im looking to buy this one:
