Hi,
I'm very desperate and I know I should've backed up everything but now I'm in a situation where I'm wondering if there's any way to mount the block and recover my photos. Please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
I'm on stock Lollipop with root.
Thanks in advance.
I've tried this but I can't tell what I'm doing wrong; I know I'm getting warmer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705

I got pretty far but still aren't able to recovery anything from DCIM. Is that separate from userdata partition? Does anyone know?
Trying new route via:
http://www.df.lth.se/~jokke/androidfilerecovery/
Well, you could try some "deleted files recovery app" from google play.
The photos might still be there somewhere. If not overwritten by some other file that needed that space.

Right now, it appears that DCIM is not on the same partition as "userdata". On my i9505G, the userdata partition is mmcblk0p28. I was able to restore other photos on the /sdcard but none of the DCIM files. I feel like these files might be stored on a different partition but unable to find any reference online. Anyone have ideas?
All I know is that the s4 uses its internal storage to emulate an sdcard.
And this causes problems with some apps, like apps2sd. Maybe it also causes your issue.

What is the best way to roganise my phone?
I plug in my phone and all i see are folder's after folder's and file's after file's
totally, unorganised it looks a complete mess and to be honest i dont even know what most of the files are for as well as folders.
102 items in the root of my phone & Sd-Card, am trying to tidy it up,
I want all my music in a Music folder as apposed to 3 which I have Music, Music Junk & Music_online , its really unorganised. Photo's and Video's need to be organised as well.
So i have applications that create folders in the root. , can i not add a folder called Applications, and then the apps will create folders in their or somthing?
Anybody got any idea's and will i be ok to delete most of these folders and files?
Thanks
I too find it a complete mess, although I have organised my media folder. Here's what mine looks like right now...

Thanks for the reply, I had a LOT more than that in my list haha, so what i decided to do was just backup my music / photos / apps (.apk) / video's and format my card, then place the backup back .
looks alot tidyier now =D

I've rooted mine so think some of what's on there will be needed, so I'll just have to put up with it. I've had to flash it 5 or 6 times already by tinkering, only had it a week too lol.
Hello
My girlfriend borrowed her dads HD2, and now it stopped working. She talked to him and most likely it requires an update of Android.
I'm usually pretty tech-savvy, but the language spoken on this forum is beyond my comprehension.
So, I have a HD2 with both win & Android installed. To boot into Android i need to go into windows and press two files on the SD-card: "CLRCAD" & "HARET".
The files look like this in Windows (pc):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Her dad mentioned Boxmax 6.5, so I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1100560
The files I downloaded from there looks pretty similar, aside from a few additions on the phone.
Downloaded the SD-one, but now i'm lost.
How do I update the phone? Just overwrite the files with the new ones or clean install? If it's a clean install, how do i do it? Do i need to backup something?
Backup all files on the SD card to a safe place (pc).
Delete folder Android on the card.
Copy the Android folder from the archive you downloaded.
Pop the SD card back into HD2, and start Android from winMo (clrcad, haret) or better yet install the exceller autoboot.
Thanks alot, sounds easy enough
When i pop the things back on the SD-card from the backup-folder, I still need to install all the apps and widgets again right?
Edit: Oh, and what about all her messages? Are they stored on the phone?

Nevermind, found Quickboot
Hello, everyone!
1. I have duplicated all the pics (in the stock Gallery) and music (in the stock app "Music").
BUT in app Quickpics - all right. In PowerAmp - are also fine, no repeats files.
Please see the screenshot 2. This is the stock Gallery.

2. In addition, I see an unusual … something in the folder sdcard (mount point)
Please see the screenshot 1.
What is it? It is normal for LG? I never see the same on Smasung.
I think that these two bags/feature related.
Please tell me how I can fix it.
Advance - thank you

Hi Guys, I have problems with my \system partition, it's almost filled for 90% and I moved almost everything out of that partition by converting it to user apps...
My current Note 3 (32gb) config is:
/System : 2,21
/Data : 26,36
I want to use 1 gb from my /data partition to be part of my System partition so that I have 3,21gb and my data partition 25,36
I found these two articles for other samsung phones:
http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/79112/resize-system-partition-of-galaxy-s-2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765846
But I was wondering if there is some other way for the Note 3 ?
Help?
No ideas?

Wrong forum. Q&A - here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help
On a side note...
DON'T GODDAMN PLAY WITH PARTITIONS ON A DEVICE YOU PAID 600$ FOR.
Do like normal people - a factory reset, a new ROM, easy squeazy peazy smooth fast stable phone.
Partitionning is not magic or sorcery
I do it all the time with devices of 2000+ euro
It's just that with android it's a bit new to me, but everybody that has used a pit file to flash their custom rom also has partitioned, so it's not really a biggie and it is done frequently.
In my case I have 650 apps and nothing is on the system partition but for some reason I still get up to 2gb of the system partition...
I therefore suspect that each app has maybe some cache or configuration that is anyway stored on the \system partition, or maybe it's the photo app , i know that the thumbnail cache can also grow enormously
Partitionning is not magic or sorcery
Maybe not but flashing PIT files is probably the easiest way to end up with a brick ,
Have a look at Philz Recover .

You could start by removing all the languages and csc's you don't need, also all tts files, etc.. i could easily have 900mb+ free in my system partition if i removed some more stuff i didn't need. For example i added the Samsung UK high quality tts voice files into my system partition, it was around 120mb.
Messing with your device's partition table is entirely unnecessary, and just asking for a brick. But hey, if you want to go for it, more power to you. Just don't come crying back here when you're left with a paperweight.
I've been looking into the "factory" partitions of the Nooks I have in my family and on 3 out of 5 units I have noticed one folder (testogossamer) and one file (mfg_update.zip) more, that on the rest of the units. If I understand correctly, this is a quality control leftover. Am I right? Is it a common and well known thing? Or should I upload those files somewhere for others to see if there is something useful there?
This is a gallery of the .pgm (converted to jpeg for the online gallery) and .jpeg files that I found there and a screenshot of some of the others: http://imgur.com/a/Q05ca#0

You can, for example, prepare the Noogie microsd card (burn the image on the card, however I am not quite sure that the term "burn" is proper in English for that). Then power on the Nook with that microsd inside and plug it into your PC. With a properly prepared Noogie microsd you should see a "Rooted Forever" screen on the Nook, and all the partitions on your PC available to see.
One of recent topics reminded me about this, and I finally got to upload those unusual files. For everyone interested, they can be found here: https://mega.co.nz/#F!bxRmEbwC!DK3iJWyFfwBTwa-SEv0DzQ If anyone know how to run tests connected with all those result message pictures, I would be very grateful for an explanation.
