Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,
With this Thread I would like to introduce a new Thread in which all Questions regarding the Note 4 Echoe ROM and Kernels can be posted and we try to answer them as fast and accurate as possible. Please bookmark and use this Thread instead of the development one for any Questions to keep the dev Thread clean and give friedrich420 the time for what we are looking for...new updates and development.
The following part of OP is used for any new mods or themes for the Echoe ROM which are not included in the ROM and will be Updated whenever I have the time:

Thx my friend. A great idea indeed! :good:
@gerardo87 I'd do a clean flash and set everything up. I didn't look through the log yet cause for me that takes time...I don't have a schooled eye for IT stuff so I have to check line for line. So bottom line I think the fastest way would be a clean flash of Echoe ROM and then just flash the kernel on top.

Hi I have been a big fan of ael and dk for tmo for quite some time. I have about 3 of the last ael saved and they work awesome with my gear vr and gear s and the kernel is just a beauty. I was lucky enough to have dl 7.2 then the thread vanished and I was curious if it's because we at tmo n4 have probably the latest 4.4.4 until 5.1 releases. I notice on echo rom it requires a password. Can I donate to gave access or for now is it finished. I have no issue at all so I could run 7.2 and dk4 for along time. You and twisted Have been really awesome and I want you guys to know I appreciated everything you did , lol even if you could care less that I'm telling you this you two are really what every dev should strive to be. Thanks for your time .......goodbye from Arizona

I'm trying modules one by one, as suggested to me, and for now I've enabled only wanam xposed. I'll make the other in these days [emoji16]
Edit: In those days I've tried xposed with wanam and greenify and no single random reboot [emoji16]
How to flash echoe v3:
Without going stock (faster)
1.Backup your phone via titanium backup or through recovery
2. Download Echoe v3 and the modem and bootloader for Lollipop 5.0.1 found in echoe ROM OP.
3. Download Odin (I used 3.0.9 and 3.10)
4. Wipe your phone through recovery or do factory reset through recovery.
5. Turn your phone off and take out the battery now put it back in and boot to download mode by pressing home + volume down + power
6. Flash the modem and boot back to download mode after its done. Now flash the bootloader.
7. Now boot into recovery and wipe data. Next you can install the rom zip from Recovery
8. Be patient the boot can take between 5-25 minutes
With going stock (recommended only if the first gives any issues)
1.Backup your phone via titanium backup or through recovery
2. Download Echoe v3, the stock ROM (for example from sammobile.com) and the custom recovery of your choice (I recommend Philz and twrp)
3. Download Odin (I used 3.0.9 and 3.10)
4. Wipe your phone through recovery or do factory reset through recovery.
5. Turn your phone off and take out the battery now put it back in and boot to download mode by pressing home + volume down + power
6. Open Odin and flash the stock ROM tar by adding it to AP.
7. After your phone booted turn it off take out the battery and boot again into download mode. Flash the custom recovery tar through Odin in AP.
8. Now boot into recovery and wipe data. Next you can install the rom zip from Recovery
9. Be patient the boot can take between 5-25 minutes

You said in the ROM thread that you fixed it...did you or are you still facing issues?
Anybody ever encountered this wakelock:
com.samsung.android.securitylogagent/.services.FileZippingService
I have never seen it on kit-Kat so assuming it's a new lollipop thing, it's been killing my battery the last couple of days. I have tried rebooting but it still shows up I have also disabled Samsung's device tracking feature from security settings but that didn't help either.
For now I have disabled: SecurityLogAgent from titanium backup, I'll see how it goes.
Any information would be highly appreciated.

i see you most likely have an outdated kernel try flashing this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816087
tell me what happens
can somebody give me another link for download, i am unable to download the rom, have tried multiple times... it just stops in the middle.
thankyou.
My efs folder became blank after installing this ROM. I do have a backup but when I copy it to the root of the phone and restart it my IMEI stays unknown, and cant get service? Am I supposed to set some permissions or something?
I came from 4.1.2 MIUI ROM, now I flashed back to that ROM and everything is fine. This is really weird.

yeah that happens..
whenever you flash 4.3 over 4.1.2 or 4.0.4 then the IMEI no becomes invalid..
In your case you need to flash the rom again after you restored the files in the efs folder..
that is why your IMEI no got restored when you flashed back to MIUI....
I wont be able to do it for a while, but is it possible anyone can upload their own screenshots? i will post it on the OP, and give credit to you. thanks in advanced

It should support any boot animation as long as the resolution is 1080x1920 and the permissions are set to rw-r-r-. What folder did you put it in?

Yeah I do. Poweramp takes some trickery though. You have to go into Audio -> Advanced Tweaks and uncheck Direct volume control, and BT Direct Volume Control. I also check MusicFX. Normally with other ROMs I have to do that and then enable the switch in the Tone/Volume screen, but that switch doesn't appear on Liquid so you may not need to check that box.

Then plug in your headphones. That seems to kick start Poweramp/Viper. In Viper settings you may have to disable and renable it. Then it should process everywhere until a reboot. Then you gotta do the headphones thing again.

What variant do you have? And where did the modem come from? Most ROMs now need the stock modem. The actual one that came with the OTAs. If you're using one from dr87's thread that were patched to fix rotation, they won't work.

D802 Okhey thanks, I was convinced I was using the correct modem. I have download and install the one from Cloudyfa and its working perfectly. [emoji5]
i too have got v4a working with @JRJ442 's method on latest build...though the install part is much easier than before and standard audio across the board seems fixed...im still aiming at fixing v4a for good as its one of the best feautures built into the rom and greatest mods in android history when it works proper
I had a problem with the buttons when a change the rom from Galaxy S5 G900
because g900 there is no preseed back button and menu button
home button only works because both models have pressed
after several hours of different combinations I came to solve the problem
Install ROM complies with the letter of your phone model
if you have g870F is a need to install rom with g900F not 900A or another model, otherwise you can lose your IMEI and network signal
First your must FULL backup your ORYGINAL S5 ACTIVE rom via TWRP or CW
Then do wipe before installing rom Galaxy S5 G900 (not active)
Install zip your new custom rom g900
after installation, do not reboot your phone !!!!
in TWRP, select the Restore menu
Select partition to restore
select ONLY BOOT

}
Then swipe restore
and reboot the system
now preseed back button and menu button should work
only one bug key activity does not work because s5 g900 does not have such a key
Hit "thanks" if you find it helpful.
Does not work on my G870F. Did that and all I got after reboot is Samsung-logo and nothing after that.
I tried to install CM13 and CM12 with same results. Rom installs just fine, but back- and menu-buttons doesn't work. Any ideas?

I work, do not do according to my instructions.
my method works with stock rom
per cm will not work and I will not translate so because as you change the rom you should know .
Good advice - if you do not feed a clue about it, is not taken for that because damage the device.

I'll explain more... At the moment I have rooted stock rom installed (SM-G870F, 5.0, G870FXXU1BOB4). I took full backup with TWRP.
I made full format to phone (format, factory reset, caches,...) in TWRP. Installed CM13 (G900F-version). Rebooted => Starts fine, looks fine, everything is fine except back- and menu-buttons.
Back to TWRP, Full format..., installed CM13, restored BOOT from backup, rebooted => Phone hangs in startup.

@davidof which G900F-rom are you using, perhaps this is rom-based problem
Read my previous post with the understanding !
Oh, you meant that both, G870F and G900F -roms, must be stock versions... Oops, my bad. Sorry
I was just so anxious to see if we finally have some way to use custom roms on G870F

Rom is looking ok, only thing is that I cannot change default launcher. I want to use Nova, but everytime i boot my phone, TouchWiz is back If I get this one "bug" to work, this rom will be my new best friend
After year struggling with stock rom, you helped me to move on and I might stick with this phone a bit longer. HUGE THANX!

I had to re-flash Phoenix, but now everything runs smoothly and Nova stays as default Launcher. I used Nova-settings to make it default launcher, I used your tip, but nothing worked Nova was working nicely when I changed to it, but every time i rebooted the phone, TouchWiz was active launcher. Then I wiped the phone and flashed Phoenix with modified TouchWiz (first time I used stock TouchWiz) and now Nova stays as default launcher even if I reboot the phone. Don't know was it just a clitch in first flash or could it be case with modified vs stock TouchWiz, but it works now
Abd Phoenix seems awesome so far, battery life is better and you can modify your phone. Thx once again @davidof
Hi im tryin to install phoenix rom v12 on my g870f butit wont flash do i need to do something special ?
OTA won't work, I downloaded the ROM manually and flashed it, but it keeps stuck at boot logo, aparently Phoenix v12 won't work on G-870F
If anyone has a workaround that would be awesome, would love to finally have a cool Marshmallow ROM on our beloved S5 Active
I'd be interested to know if only phoenix 10.5 works...or can it be newer?
Phoenix V11.0 XXU1BPA2 works fine for me, but I'm hoping to get V12.5 to work, so if anyone has found a way
A simpler Stock-Based custom ROM.
Features
Stock ROM, but simpler.
<600MB download
Based on latest 6.0.1 ROM, debloated and deodexed
Only install-able apps, intrusive services and unused files are removed (which unfortunately includes SCloud services)
Suggestions are welcomed. Thanks are welcomed too ;p
Do give credit if you use this ROM as base.
Requirements
Marshmallow bootloader. If you're on a Marshmallow ROM before then you're good. Optionally, for LTE model, flash the MM modem as well.
TWRP
Install Instructions
1) Fulfill the requirements above
2) If you're coming from a non-Stock ROM or LL ROM, wipe data . If you're upgrading SimplerStock, wiping cache should be enough.
3) Flash zip file and gapps. (gapps NOT optional)

just to say that twrp supersu 2.78 works perfect... and yes pico gapps is ok
thanks

please add email and s planner, I think most people need it. At least as .zip installers
Awesome, just what i've been looking for. As much as I love the AOSP rom Schischu made, the volume/call/battery problems are too much for me to deal with.
Am planning on installing when my fourth month old daughter allows for it will be flashing superSU and xposed and will report back.
*edit* Flashed rom and used SuperSU 2.78 and now everything is working perfect so far! Great work and thanks! Will post back if I find any issues or problems.
One question though, is the stock weather app the same as Android 5.x? If so, is there any chance you might upload it also? I really like the stock weather app and haven't found anything quite like it
I'd like to see a t700 version please

Can you flash and give this a try? https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767100905
My reasoning of removing SPlanner and Email was that I use K9 Mail and Google Calendar. I have to say SPlanner is nice, but I own a another non-Samsung devices and I hate to be tied to an OEM app.
e mail and calendar working, thanks

Thank you for your prompt response to my request. I'm downloading the ROM now. Will report once I finish the installation process.
I updated the bootloader with odin and flashed the TWRP with flashify. Copied the rom to my sd card and wiped data.
When I attempt to flash the rom, I get the following error.
This package is for "klimwifi" devices; this is a "klimlte".
Updater process ended with Error: 7
Error installing zip file '.sdcard.....'
Updateing partition details...
..done
My device is klimwifi, I don't have a SIM card slot.
EDIT: I flashed the above version of TWRP, which is the lte version. I'll flash the correct one and try again. Here's the correct TWRP version for T700 which should be flashed via flashify app or odin: https://dl.twrp.me/klimtwifi/
Rom installed successfully. Will test for sometime and report if there are major issues.

Hi xda users,
I am very pleased to present OLD NOUGAT FTFs Google Drive Mirror + Patched Kernels.
I spend lots of time and bandwidth for you, so please hit Thanks :fingers-crossed: button and comment below..
Read First
This in NOT Backup TA Partition or Bootloader Unlock thread.
FTFs on this thread are original STOCK rom files.
If your device BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED, you can use Patched Kernel if you want.
If your device BOOTLOADER LOCKED, you can NOT use Patched Kernel.
You do NOT have to USE patched kernel, just flash FTF. Use like a stock ROM.
I build Patched Kernels for ROOT, TWRP, MAGISK users.
:fingers-crossed:

Thread has so many questions and answers, so I will not delete this thread.

Great, i will give it ago tonight happy for including supersu support

What do yo mean "Battery drain patched", it is stock FTF and patched kernel only has DM-Verity, Sony RIC, DRM fix patch.

-You can select FTF (single sim user select E6653, dual sim user select E6633)
*due to the kernel customizations, fingerprint may not work on E6603 and E6683*

Awesome work here! Everything feels smoother and battery life is *thank goodness* better.
Anyway, I noticed I cannot uninstall/remove apps thru uninstaller. What could be the problem?
Suppose I flash E6633 32.3.A.0.378 in my E6683 does it support VoLTE in India? Also does it support fingerprint?

DISCONNECT internet. Updated apps must be uninstalled twice (2 times). Once uninstall update, then original app. Uninstall "sony software update apk" then uninstall others.. You have to ROOT your device first..

Yes, E6633. No official update for E6683 yet E6633 works well. I dont know VoLTE support, sorry :/
You have to try and notify me. If you have LOCKED device Fingerprint might work.
@ sceryavuz some users reported bad battery on nougat, and offered solutions so i asked, if u know about this. Nevermind tried it ot for myself
So i managed to install it with flashtool but i did not get supersu to install binaries, reflashed 4 times, it just did not stick. (no su binaries)
I followed procedure and used files from the link.
So i tried rom for two days without root and it is very very smooth and polished, battery is great, waiting for weekend so i can repeat all once more.
Can i please make request to you if you can build flashable rooted.zip rom it makes life easier for users like me i would apreciate it
Greetings

What is the TWRP output(error) when you try to flash? SuperSU zip file works well for me. If you cant figured out. I can make supersu patched kernel for you!?
I will try couple of times this weekend and atach error outputs.
So you can see what happened.
If this helps, su binaries was installed combined with androplus kernel_v43 but then i had no cell signall. Your kernel works, but no su binaries.
If you made custom kernel for me it would be awesome, but first it is up to me to break some eggs

As far as supersu, now i know for next time, it makes sense if you repack kernel with supersu then there is no need to push it
Maybe i should mention that busybox pro settled after first reboot, now it shows it is installed.
Still, i need some files in /system, i will se how this goes. :highfive:
