Hi,
Just wanted to ask before I get the note 4.
-my carrier has the exynos 5433, i wanted the s805 is exynos good enough? in terms of gaming and battery life?
-Does 5433 support quick charging?
-Is it a 64 bit chip already?
-how long does it last compared to sd805 variant?
Many thanks guys
Yes its 64 bit chip but not enabled. Its ahead in gaming as compared to sd.A little less battery life as compared to sd.It supports quick charge

By how many % is it less compared to SD? I mean can it last a whole day with internet use and games? Lets say SD can last 8 hours. How about exynos?

The Exynos version performs better than the Snapdragon 805 version. Plus, it doesn't overheat/throttle.
BUT, it lasts 2 hours shorter than the Snapdragon variant. I get about 5.5-6 hours SOT on my N910C (4.4.4)
That's way more than long enough for me - between driving and lunches, I wouldn't even get 5 hours of use out of the house.

It's definitely 64-bit: SBL is compiled as AArch64.
But the OS isn't built for 64-bit - 5.0.1 is built for 32 bit. Maybe an XDA dev can port 64 bit Android to it in the future, but I'm not sure we'll need to have 64-bit within the lifetime of the phone.
Thanks for the reply mate. So 2 hours really is significant. But the charging time is it also 2hrs? Which is the same as the sd variant?
I thought 5.0 will start utilizing the 64bit architecture. Im planning to get the n4 this weekend. I mean should I wait for s6 or this will do? This will be my first sammy phone after using xperia flagships since 2010. X8,ZL and Z1
Wait and get the s6 so u will have latest and greatest from samsung

The N910C charges (0-100) in about 1 hour 30 minutes (But it charges fastest from 30-80% - that's done in 30 minutes)
The Note 4's plenty fast, though IMO you should wait for the S6/Note 5 to really blow you away.
I came from a Galaxy S2, and was thoroughly impressed by how far we've come in 3 years!

Hello everyone, first of all, I am galaxy S4 user, I have both octa core and snapdragon. I am pretty sad about the poor battery life of Exynos S4(I play a lot of game) and the lack of custom developpement in the i9500 section.
I am pretty happy with the i9505 even if it "lacks" performance(I know, even if it is already a beast with snapdragon 600) compared to the octa core and the future "Snapdragon 800" which will be rumoured to be integrated in the Galaxy Note 3.
I don't care if this device has 1 inch larger screen or something else. All I need in a phone is the absolute performance and the perfect fluidity when using. The only problem is that I am not somebody patient. I have to wait 4 or 5 month until the Note 3 being released. So does this device really provide enough performance that I should wait for it?
(if it uses the octa core, I am sure to not buy it). Thank you for your advice.
Even when the note 3 is out, there will be another beast coming on the way. It's a continous run given the rapped technology progress! If you are always seeking the ultimate best, then you'll have to change your device every +/- 6 months! Maybe even more frequent in the near future!

Be happy with what you have.
There wont be much noticeable performance again.

Yes, but this time, we will got the fresh new Snapdragon 800, I cannot imagin how gaming will be cool on the big screen fast device. It can be good to take note too.
Hey guys finally the day has come when i will upgrade to a new smartphone and luckily as i am not short on budget i have decided to buy Galaxy Note 3 which i think is the best Android smartphone nowadays......the problem is that in my country both versions are available and i am not sure which version is better so thought what place would be better than XDA to ask this question......i hope you guys will help me in taking the right decision.
Btw N9000($605) is about 30 usd cheaper than N9005($635) which though doesn't matter but i thought i should share this as well with you guys.
(Both are 32 gb variants)
Regards..!!!
Just watch the N9005, trick little prick if the service provider you're using is on bands 7/17, however the 9005 is a little better hardware wise! I personally don't think you'll noticed the difference!
Go 9005.
Firstly, Exynos only excels more in graphics department and its barely any better then what Snapdragon offers. Also the SD model is more widely available & the carrier choice due to FDD-LTE, Which means better longterm rom support between the two models.

n900 exynos doesn't support 4g LTE, hardware issue.
dont worry about the ram difference....they both have 3GB...its how each of the 2 versions reserves certain amounts for the gpu & other systems processes....(not sure of the EXACT things that do this....but i read it here in xda while deciding on the note 3 version myself).... but in my opinion i would suggest you go for the n9005....its a little better in terms of performance...as far as battery is concerned the snapdragon is better as my cousin owns a octa version & mine does considerably better....it has LTE & it has 4k video recording & playback support...something the octa version doesnt....so that means the n9005 is a bit more futureproof than the 9000 PLUS the n9005 has a more active developer support....
N900 is Exynos Variant which means the processor is developed by Samsung. The N9005 is Snapdragon Variant which means the processor is developed by Qualcomm. Overall I would prefer the Snapdragon 800 Variant as performance is much more excellent than Samsung's own Exynos.

The last line can be a deal breaker in favor of N9005 as it would be very difficult for me to go for the variant which has considerably less developer support.......so as of now i am leaning towards N9005!
Btw i read somewhere that Samsung might release a patch which will enable all the 8 cores on N9000......is this true can anyone please confirm this?
Most Exynos users including me are suffering from poor battery life. N9005 users seem to enjoy 9 hours of screen on time, while me and some other N900 users get 4-5 hours maximum. So I'd say go with N9005.

And i thought that due to those 4 power saving A7 cores N9000 will have the better battery life lol...........thanks mate for telling me about battery life coz this is one of the primary things which i look for when choosing a smartphone..!!!
On my personal usage I had both snapdragon and exynos and eventually end up with keeping exynos for myself and gave snapdragon to my sis as exynos felt a bit snappier overall to me but in few games snapdragon had a slight advantage but the exynos was no less in some games exynos was better, and yes battery sucks with latest firmware update was excellent before so you can expect battery to be fixed with updates and if you have LTE in your country go with snapdragon, exynos makes no sense if you got LTE in your region and better development also goes to snapdragon, also today Samsung might announce something about their exynos processor @Ces and my guess is they will release the hmp which enables all 8 cores, though nothing sure keep an eye, so decide what you need, but in terms of performance pick either of them you wouldn't regret
sorry but the HMP patch to run all 8cores have been scraped a while back...so performance wise snapdragon is better...plus i have 2 exynos variants of samsung products at home...an s4 octa & a note 3 octa....dont know the reason why...but they started to bog down after a few weeks of usage....there arent many apps installed on either device, both rooted by me & debloated & running almost the same setup as my n9005...but mine is still as snappy as it was the day i got it :/ ....the current 5410 & 20 were experiments if you ask me.... i'd say the n9005 is the nobrainer choice when buying note 3
The devil's advocate
I'm surprised No one's mentioned how hot the snapdragon version gets under stress! I've never had a handheld device get so hot! No exaggeration, I sometimes worry if I should stop what im doing to allow the phone to cool. My friends exynos note 2 doesnt even get warm. I can attest to the battery life, atm I get 10hrs screen on time which includes reading rss feeds, music and light to medium web browsing. I was always under the impression the exynos version was better on battery, but some users seem to suggest otherwise. I bought the n9005 instead of n9000 because: 1. It was cheaper in my region.
2. To use LTE.
I dont regret buying the snapdragon version, but the performance difference between the two is negligible and the heat
issue really bothers me, so i must vote for the exynos, providing that the battery life isnt noticeably worse.
oh one more thing.. 3g+ is still quite fast and 4g lte is a battery hog, though the speeds are impressive.

Go and have a [email protected] on Twitter, and you'll find something as #UnlockExynos which as assumed can be related to HMP, also if there's no HMP I wouldn't really care, I find the 5420 still great, and yeah galaxy s4 5410 that was a serious fail, I threw it out in 2 days of usage coz that 5410 processor was such a bullshi* but that isn't the case with 5420 but still it's own preference and way to think which is good or bad.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4_and_note_3_wont_get_true_octacore_update-news-6908.php there mate....that unlockexynos thing that you speak of is probably the processor teaser for S5 which could be 64bit processor.....& S4 octa processor is the absolute pits.....the note 3's octa is a slight improvement...but i would still say the snapdragon is a better overall package....& thus a slightly better choice

Hello.. I am planning too buy the note 4... In our country lebanon we have both variants.. The exynos and snapdragon... But it really confuses me.. Every benchmark site says something different.. Some says sd is better.. Some of them says exynos is better... I would really have a full review of users opinion.
What i really need from a note 4.
1. Camera are they both the same.
2. Gpu is there a really different in real life?
3. Ram.. If u have snapdragon you will have 1.5 gb left free ram.. On exynos. Only 200-400 mb.
4. Battery.. Most sites says onscreen time 8-12 hour .. Here on xda barely few could get 7 hours and under.
5. Sound chip.. Is really wolfon so much better than the one in snapdragon?
6. I am planning to order the gear vr.. So does exynos really lagg?
Lte really doesn't bother me at all.. Since 3g is enough for me. And i only use whats app and heavy games like modern combat... Nova 3..asphalt.
Could anyone plz give me a true and helpful advice
Thx in advance.
Ana help would be appreciated

1. Camera is the same in both versions.
2. Depends on your usage. The Snapdragon version has a better GPU, but some say the difference is not noticable in gaming. Since it is of interest to you, the Gear VR is supposed to be working optimally with the Snapdragon GPU.
3. I don't know about that, but it doesn't sound legit.
4. Battery life appears to be the same. 8-12 hours of screen on and doing nothing is pretty much the same as 7 hours with screen on while you actually use the phone.
5. I don't know, it's supposed to be better but I can't comment on how noticable that would be in real life conditions.
6. See point #2.
I hope I was somewhat helpful.
3. I wonder where this information comes from. On snapdragon version, after most bloatwares have been removed, you can reach 1.2 GB free, without user applications running. Should be the same on exynos one I guess.

exynos is far superior and also future proof with 64 bit capability. go for a 910U. best model is taiwanese.
exynos has wolfson DAC for superior audio, better more efficient CPU with less power usage, better GPU.

1. Is correct. Both have the same sensor.
2. Apparently the Mali GPU performs better than the Adreno in real world usage, but I'm not sure about that.
3. I did have slightly more free RAM on the Snapdragon than on the Exynos, even after a fresh reboot.
It was probably a coincidence though.
4. The battery life was a lot better on the Snapdragon on 3G.
About 7.5 hours on the SD compared to only 5 hours on the Exynos. On WiFi the battery life was almost the same.
5. The difference is noticeable.
Especially the heights sound a lot clearer on the Exynos. You won't notice it when you only listen to low quality 128 kbit MP3s or YouTube rips.
6. I fail to see why the preformance would be different with GearVR when it's the same on regular games.
The only reason I could think of is that 3D requires a ton of GPU bandwidth which the Snapdragon has compared to the already quite bandwidth starved Exynos and Mali SoC.

Nothing's for sure yet, but I would say it's going to be 32 bit as well. I have my reasons which I wont bore you with right now. But the bottom line is, if you want a Snapdragon Note 4, don't let the distinct possibility of having a 64 bit device in the future alter your thinking process.

What I would love is a 64 bit device from Samsung and my plan was for Galaxy S6.
But, I also need a device with removable battery as this can help me in recovering from most Custom Rom flash problems. And after seeing the latest Unibody leaks of S6, I have decided for Note 4 if this is going to be true since Note 5 will also be a unibody if S6 is.
Also, I dont rate the Samsung Battery to be as good as Apple and sure would cause battery drain problems in 2 years and I am not one who buy a new phone for every year.
Actually, I am still living with my Galaxy S1 and is nearly 4 years old right now. I would really appreciate if someone can upgrade my GS1 with latest hardware as it is already running Kitkat CM11 ..

If you're changing your phone every 4 years, you should wait for a SD 810 device for sure. It's much more future-proof.

It's not that the Snapdragon 805 doesn't perform as well as the Exynos 5433 SOC. They both are excellent performing SOCs. It's just that the Snapdragon 805 has a bad habit of overheating very easily, which is a common problem among Qualcomm's Snapdragon series of SOCs.

Yeah, I'd recommend the Exynos variant too. As it much more stable than the Snapdragon variant.

OK thanks guys but is real that adreno is better than mali gpu in gaming? Does the exynos lag with heavy games? And what about rom support? Do u think the exynos will ever get a stable nougat with working fingerprint and irblaster?
go snapdragon if you gonna treat the phone as a glorified psp.. Go Exynos if you want cpu power with economy.. cant get it all...

I've been happily using the Snapdragon 805 variant since launch week and it runs just fine. Battery is great, I get around 6.5h SOT if I do try push it (usually going to bed by the time it hits 4h).
Both variants are great, and you should have a similar experience on both on Android 6.0.1.

Exynos plays games like iPhone. See YouTube videos of Real Racing 3 & Nova 3 on N4 Exynos, N4 Spapdragon and then iPhone 6s.
That'll show you the difference right there.
My Exynos is super smooth and does not overheat ever + gets 7 hour screen on time
What more can you ask for?

The Mali T-760MP6 is a excellent GPU and will run any game you throw it's way like nothing. While the Adreno maybe slightly better. The Mali T-760 isn't a slouch in the gaming department either. I use my N910C for gaming all the time and I can literally play any game I want on it. Even République, which is quite a heavy 3D intensive game and my N910C runs it like it was nothing!

ROM Support seems good.
Check out the Exynos Development Section
Snapdragon for gaming, media, and vr. Exynos for multitasking and background processing. From what I've read, both are fairly comparable but exynos may have better chance of seeing nougat update since it's more widely used internationally.
Actually, I have used both of them.
The Exynos wins, at least in terms of a battery life (+30 min of SoT compared to the SnapDragon) and earbuds sound quality. Moreover, it heats up less than the Snap.
the n910c seems to be better in every aspect
Guys I had the snapdragon variant and I just got the exynos model now... Huge difference! The exynos hands down wins! By far better...

Lol I have 2 phone right now i i say that exinos in way back after snapdragon. Snap is better in every way. More powerfull cpu, ram., all test win snapdragon
Actually if you care about performance, go with snapdragon, but if you use it as daily phone and you concern about battery life, heating problem then exynos. BTW, exynos on galaxy note 4 has 64 bit processor, which means, it is a newer version of processor!!
