Sorry if this is I'm the wrong section but i couldn't locate the q&a section from the tapatalk app.
I have a Windows 8.1 pre-installed on my Toshiba satellite c75d-a7102. My mouse keeps freezing into one spot and sticking, sometimes only letting me scroll the page but the mouse stays still. I've done the f5 button. I've pulled the battery abs booted from the splash screen with f2 and reset those settings. Still nothing. When I reboot the mouse works for a minute then freezes again. Please help.

Hi,
I just installed firefirefire and TWRP then CM7, it boots fine but as soon as it gets to the home menu it stops responding completly and not always consistently in the same position, sometime none of the apps load and other times they do, but always on the home screen it becomes unresponsive, has anyone else had this problem?
EDIT:
also have a log .... but i cant post it -_-

I've just installed the 4.4.2 update on my Advent-branded Tegra Note and the first boot was painfully slow. The "Optimizing Apps" stage of the boot took more than an hour for 161 apps and when the boot was complete the device was lagging to a ridiculous degree. Swiping left or right on the home screen resulted in a jittery page change after maybe 6 or 7 seconds. I eventually had to force a shutdown. Subsequent boots have started OK but with periodic lag for 20-30 seconds at a time. Has anyone else had issues like this?

Oh, yeah. Got frustrated enough that I rooted it and downgraded back to 4.3... That said, try going into recovery (if you're not rooted) and clear the cache from there to see if that helps.

I have seen this randomly, not on the first reboot of Kitkat for me, which worked fine. But just randomly on reboots after the update to 4.4.2. The slowness starts at the initial boot screen because the animated splash screen with the green swirling around the Nvidia logo is super sluggish and slow-mo, almost like the tablet is running on one core or something. If this occurs, I normally hold in the power button to force a hard reboot, then its fine again. Done it maybe a handful of times, but I don't restart my tablet that often. Only started happening after the 4.4 update tho.
workaround

This is not a solution, but instead a workaround that seems to work.
a) Firstly you need to turn on the 'developers options' in the settings menu.
Go into 'Settings' > 'About tablet' then tap the 'Build number' seven times.
You will get a message telling you that you are now a developer.
Return to the main settings page and a new option 'Developers options' will be visible.
B)Click on 'Developers options' > 'Select runtime'. Then click 'Art'. This cause android to rebuild the runtime system & libraries. When its finished optimising apps, use the tablet as normal for 10-15 minutes, note some apps will NOT function properly.
Restart tablet by powering off and turning back on.
C)Goto main 'Settings' page click 'Developers options' > 'Select runtime'. Then click 'Dalvik'. Android will rebuild the runtime system & libraries and return the tablet to its original state. When its finished optimising the apps, Power off the tablet then restart.
I hope this helps… (does not require unlocking or rooting)
After a while the top part of my screen will completely stop responding to touch. I can't pull down the notification area or press anything on the upper portion of the phone. After, I reboot it works for about 30 seconds and then the top part of the screen will stop working again. The only thing that will fix it is to wait it out. Maybe a few hours later it will start working again. Then a couple days later and the same thing happens. I think maybe my phone is overheating from some app or something and then it causes this to happen for some reason. That would I guess explain why it starts working after while, because the phone had a chance to cool off
Anybody else experience this?
Yes your not alone with this issue.
This happened to my galaxy S8 plus after using twitter.
I uninstalled the app but I hadn't regained the ability of touch response.
I don't have a backup device but have ordered an older model so that I can further diagnose.
In the meantime I found an app to help counteract the problem. ie. Rotation - Orientation Manager
To be clear this is the top portion of the screen from Very top to about a half inch down.
I verified by using a touch sensor test app. ie. Yet Another MultiTouch Test
I've also did the soft reset, clear cache, and since I use a third party Home Launcher reinstalled it. ie. Nova Launcher Prime
Good luck!
Last week, I took my phone off the charger and noticed that the home button was not working. Did multiple reboots, clean wipes and also reinstalled the stock ROM, nothing worked. Did the *#808# fingerprint test and found that the figerprint sensor was not responding which led me to believe this could be a hardware issue. I did not have the time to go to the service center so I turned on the on-screen navigation bar and used it like this for a few days.
Today, I thought I'd try to sort this out one more time before I take it to the service center. The *#808# fingerprint test still showed the sensor not available. Rebooted the phone and turned the on-screen nav bar off. Lo and behold the home key started working. I do not know how this happened, I'm just glad that it did.
Just thought I'll post here so that if anyone has issues they could try this out and it might help someone.
Cheers.:good:

Hi. I have the same issue on my op3t, Oxygeos Version 9.05. My home and recents buttons do not work but fingerprint works fine. I turned on the on-screen nav bar and the home and recents buttons don't work there as well. Turning it off didn't solve anything. Any idea? Thanks
Facing exactly the same issue after upgrade to 9.0.5. home and recent buttons are not working, but fingerprint is working fine. Did you resolve this issue by any chance? if yes, please let me know as well how it was resolved. thanks. -ramesh
Try doing a factory reset, but take a backup before doing that.
Sent from my OnePlus 3T using XDA Labs
I am also facing this issue. It started off with a boot loop into the recovery every time i try to start the phone. It stopped after i cleared cache from recovery, but the default launcher doesnt work properly, no notifications in my drawer, and many other issues. the hardware buttons are responding (it lights up when i tap on it) but the OS doesn't do anything with it. I have tried with switching to the soft keys and it behaves the same way as well. the fingerprint scanner and back button works so far.
i'm having this problem too Got a OP3T, i found out a bit of info, it has to do with the screen, i'm still facing this problem so im gonna buy a replacement screen and see how it goes, ive already replaced the earphone jack board that houses most the flex cable connections and i also replaced the speaker, home button, and the usb c flex cable to no avail. what i haven't tried was to replace the battery and the main/sub flex cable inside. i'd really like a fix for this.
go to Settings -> Apps -> All Apps (ie including System apps)
look for com.android.fingerprint... or com.oneplus.fingerprint...
"Force Stop" it. and go to its storage and "Clear Cache" , "Delete Data" .
Now restart the Phone.
Worked for me on OnePlus3T running OxygenOS 9.0.5.
Phone was also on charging through out the procedure .. I doubt if it would have any significance though.
Good Luck.
I could not force stop this app.
MY SOLUTION
this is what it worked for me with OP5
I deactivated fingerprint, reboot to recovery, wipe cache+dalvik, restart (without fingerprint anymore) and it seems to be working just fine again.
I have observed this issue too in my oneplus 3 with oxygen os 9.0.6 and also in previous releases. The only thing that works for me is just to reboot the phone.

Hi xda, I am fedup now, I have rooted my S10+ with Magisk and TWRP as recovery. I have done the passcode and FP. But the problem is if I only press power off and restart without pressing 3 magic buttons and enter the passcode then it shows black screen for 2-3 secs and it ask me again to enter passcode. Keeps repeating. Anyone you guys face the same issue?
Thanks and Regards
Yep, i have the same issue with ASF3.
The only semi-working workaround i found, is to not type the pin for few minutes, and then open quick menu, hit settings (enter pin), the settings will be empty, and then quickly hit Search and pray. Most often it will "unbug" itself, and allow the ui to load/continue.
My bet its probably combination of versions of everything.
I have even more interesting followup, after a while, the webview component completly gets broken, and all apps that relly on it, stops working or lag. Google Chrome just cant open any pages, including chrome:// ones.

Mine fixed with ASF3, just do a clean flash with the latest TWRP. This works for me.
