So do you want to flash a 4.4.2 custom rom? If so just flash it in your custom recovery. Wipe system, data and cache first.

Then you're going to have to use Odin and flash the stock firmware in it. Go to sammobile.com for the stock firmware.

That's it. I thought there was problems reverting after upgrade.

I think you can on the i337m. Not totally sure. But the worst case is Odin will fail.

Hi mate ,If you flash a stock NA5 you can no longer downgrade to stock 4.3. but you can try to flash your 4.3 Nandroid back up via recovery. or You can atleast downgrade to any custom 4.3 roms even aosp rom as well.Have a nice day
If the official kitkat come and I flash. Then everryhing is okey. Or not.

If the official kk came out in the end of january . Yea you should be alright . But if your thinking to downgrade to 4.3 stock then its not possible. If your having any issue with the leak, just flash the kitkat rom again.

[Q] Upgrade to 4.4.2 after rooting with cf-autoroot?

Hi!
Got my N9005 with MJ7, so I went and rooted with cf auto-root.
As I'm on 4.3 stock, what are my options for upgrading?
What are the implications of the new 4.4.2 bootloader ?

I can live with that as I like the s-pen features.
Should I just flash any firmware?
I see on sammobile there isn't yet a Croatian rom with 4.4.2.
Should I just flash another one if so how to choose and what is the best way to flash?
Will my root survive or will I have to re-root?
Thanks!
Mine didn't survive and now I can't re root for some reason

Chainfire has a 4.4.2 version of CF auto-root out, did you try that?
Yeah that's the only one I tried. Seems to install fine but when booted back up supersu isn't even installed

I'm Looking For A Custom Kitkat 4.4.2 Rom For My S4

I am looking for a custom KitKat rom 4.4.2. All the ones I'm finding will not flash successfully. The one I did find was messing up my phone modem (radio) and it was causing dropped calls and EDGE connection problems so I flashed it back to stock. I want a new custom rom without this issue that is rooted with Wifi/tethering.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 model with AT&T.
I appreciate any help it I can get with this!

If you take the time to read like most of us have. You will find out that you can't flash custom rooms if you are on kit kat until devs find exploit, which is going to be very hard.

From what he says you could tell he is either on mk2, nb1 or NC1 which the bootloader is lock down and as most of us know we can only flash Tw roms.

I don't get that from his post. He wants to flash a kk custom rom and he seems to be able to flash roms which tells me he has a custom recovery.
Op, can you tell us what firmware version you're on?

[Q] Couple of Queries, plz help

I have acquired an S4 i337 from At&t, it's on the MF3 4.2.2, i have used towel root to root it and installed safestrap as well...
i wanted to upgrade to 4.4, should i just odin the firmware onto it by putting it into download mode? which 4.4 is best for it in terms of stability and stuff...? i think only stock touchwiz is recommended since i don't know whether it's bootloader is locked or not...
second
can i root the 4.4 through towel root easily or is there a problem with it... which in your opinion is the best for the i337? I won't be able to downgrade again yeah?
I would flash the nb1 tar file in Odin and then go from there. You can root everything including oc3. Read through this and you'll find ask your answers, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53758227

thank you for replying, that's very helpful. Also if i may, i need to flash 4.3 before 4.4 or just go directly towards 4.4?
since it says from any base... ?
it's just downloading the firmware (NB1) then putting the phone into download mode, start Odin and wait for the phone to reboot? that's it?

Yes it's as simple as that. Put the tar in PDA or AP slot depending on what version of Odin you're using. Only have f.reset and auto reboot checked.

Yes you can with Odin, but do your know the bootloader version of 4.2.2 you're on? If you're on mdb or mdl you probably don't want to update. On 4.2.2 you can use twrp or cwm custom recoveries and flash any roms your want. Once you're on 4.4.4 you'll be limited.

Go into setting, about device. Look at the last three characters build number. That's a good indication of what your bootloader is. If your rooted the best way is in a terminal emulator type
su
getprop ro.bootloader

Ok, mf3 already has a bootloader that you can't do much with. Definitely update to nb1 by flashing the tar file in Odin.

first of all, i wanted to thank you for your swift replies and help, you've been very generous, thank you ...
final question, is 4.4.2 a good upgrade from 4.2.2? is it worth it? i've read 4.4.2 had some issues with the S4... should i remain on 4.2 or upgrade to 4.4? what do you suggest? i've got the firmware (NB1) downloaded alongwith Odin... should i go for it?

I would. It has bug fixes and you can update to lollipop if you want. You can still have root and safestrap if you want. There really is no downside to it.

Jasmine is basically a stock ROM. Follow the directions. Flash 4.0, GAPPS, then 4.3. Ask me how I know.
Otherwise, go back to stone stock via Odin and re-root.
