[Q] Broken one GPS pin : how to fix it ? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
sorry for my bad English : I'm french and don't speak English very often
I recently fixed GPS issue on my LG G2 D802 using paper under connectors (following well known Youtube tutorial). Everything worked well for two weeks, but since friday GPS signal was really weak.
I checked hardware and saw that I broke one of the two pins used by GPS.
How can I fix this issue ? I tried to add aluminium paper on broken PIN, but GPS fix remains poor.
Note : I don't have soldering iron.
Thanks for your help

I buyed this phone 1 year ago , the seller changed display and display frame before!
Thanks :good:
you have the same problem as I do... does your wifi work well or there is also some minor problems (mine's reception is like 70% of what it should be).
experts said the problem was on the motherboard, but I don't know anything more as I'd like to avoid replacing it.

Lg spirit h420 gps issue

i have a seriuos issue with this device

i open gps status and toolbox, it recognizes 12 satellites but can't fixate on any of them.

could this be bad gps module on all of them?

Any, and I mean ANY Mediatek chipsed based phone has issues with GPS, at least in Europe.
This is the sole reason I avoid Mediatek like the plague.
Just Google "Mediatek GPS problem". There are possible fixes, but you have to try them out yourself.
I have the same problema whith my LG H420...
How can i fix it ?
I had the same problem minutes ago. The views may come from a-gps sinse it didin't detect any signal. The problem is that the 3 screws on the bottom of the phone, where the gps antenna is, get loose. I have tighten the screws and... it worked. Now it find singal and fix on sattelites indoor and outdoor.

Worked for me, on H440N.
When I Lollipop GPS was wrong , since I upgraded to MM GPS has improved a lot , however, often use the app " GPS Connected" to fix in a stable satellites
I tried everything but it does not set the satélites !
3 screws were tight !
But even then I squeezed more !
what can I do ?? :crying: :crying:
I have tried "EPO Tools free" by eben80 and the connection and stability of GPS is better
Rats, I have the same issue with my h440n ... it used to work now and then before ... like half the time. Recently it sorta worked 1 out of 10 times and now it seems dead completely. Maybe that's due to the fact that I dropped it seriously multiple times and recently even cracked the digitizer big time. I'm NOT with Mediatek so I should be fine, but I'm not. Has anyone else with the h440n had this issue and resolved it successfully? I'm trying to find sth on ebay but other than this

I cannot find anything else as a spare part. Not even sure if that one includes a gps module ... just says speaker and antenna ...

The trick with tightening the bottom 3 screws, close to the speaker, actually DID help me. I tightened them quite a bit and that seems to have resolved the issue for now. Big ups to whoever it was that came up with this super easy fix and damn LG ... poor build quality, still an ok phone though, for the bucks.
EDIT: After some testing - the fix worked, as I said, but GPS signal is still somewhat poor. It is enough to get you from point A to B, in a way, but the signal keeps on dropping. It simply won't lock to any satellite gps, constantly loses connection and reconnects again, and then the same again. I've read there are some apps that can help with that. Will try out some. If anyone has a solid one that fixes this, do mention it.
We need to fix it soon, or we forget Pokemon Go!
:crying::crying:
This did work for me

D802 - No GPS fix - Hardware issue - Which part(s) to change ?

Hello there,
I'm facing GPS issues for months now. Problem is that my GPS doesn't get lock.
I tried software fixes. It worked for several weeks but finally GPS issues wasn't gone.
I tried hardware fix (removing the back case and do the paper trick on the GPS plugs). It worked again for several weeks but GPS fix is now really really difficult (between 5-15 min) and I'm losing fix often.
Now, I'm wondering if there is a real hardware fix to definitively repair my GPS. I plan to buy new D802 parts. Which one will help recover my GPS ?
I saw :
- Antenna part (link) : I think it's only antenna for phone and maybe FM radio
- Back cover (link) : It's probably this part that helps GPS fix (since the GPS plugs are connected on this part)
Any idea to help fix my GPS ? Thanks

G900F - TWRP - LineageOS13 - No/Weak GPS and No LTE but Weak instable Edge

Hello,
I had to replace the Daugterboard of my G900F because the two touchbuttons got killed by replacing the display.
Now the Display and the buttons are working but my phone has nearly no GPS Signal (but with GPS Test it can see many Sats with lowest signal level)
Second problem, it has no LTE Signal but weak edge.
I noticed this small antenna wires on the daugterboard. (blue and white connecting from the daughterboard to the mainboard)
Does anyone know what they are used for ? Are they just for Wifi ?
The wifi Signal is good.
Just want to know where i need to search for the GPS/LTE Problem.
Perhaps i just got a faulty/faked daughterboard again. Because this is the second one i installed after getting a nonworking one from crap-bay :-/ (The touchbuttons didnt work and i didnt seat correctly)
A reflash didn´t solve the problem.
Greetings
Chris

I don't have this variant but, the following link has a step-by-step guide (with pictures) regarding the replacement of the Daughterboard.
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+S5+Micro-USB+Port+Daughterboard+Replacement/27077
It is very detailed and even shows what cable color goes where.
Good Luck!
