Hi guys, don't know if this is the right place to post but you seem friendly. So I was previously on cloudy G3 and thought i would flash ressurection remix instead. I downloaded the rom an gapps as usual. When I was going to wipe my phone i wanted to do a total reset so I went in to twrp, went to wipe, then advanced and checked everything and swiped to wipe. Now the problem is that I can't boot. Could I have deleted the installed rom aswell? I can still enter recovery but I don't have a rom on the phone to flash. When I plug in my phone to the computer it was recognized with the windows beep but I cant find it in the explorer so there is no way To put the rom on the phone itself. Does anyone have a clue of what I can do? Help would be highly appriciated at this point!
Do a google search on adb sideload. By wiping internal storage, you've delete everything on your storage including rom and backup. Only way left is to side load or restore using Odin using PC.

Im trying to figure this adb out but i have a problem. When I type adb devices i get an empty list and my phone has a yellow triangle in windows device manager. I tried uninstalling the drivers and install new ones from lg:s webpage but that didn't help. Any idea what to do?

Just go back to stock using the "How to go back to stock Thread" Takes 5 minutes when you have all the files.

I'm trying to install Manta-JWR66V-Rooted_Odex_Busybox.zip. I've made a back up of my old data and then wiped data and did a factory reset. I tried installing the new rom from the sd card with CWM after that but get the message below. If anybody knows what the issue is please help me I've tried multiple times and haven't gotten anywhere. I'm running 4.2 on my tablet because I haven't been able to flash anything in the past.
/tmp/recovery.log was copied to /sdcard/clockworkmod/recovery.log please open rom manager to report issue.
Try twrp.

I think I really screwed up. I got TWRP on my tablet now, but the zip still wasn't loading. I decided to delete my other partitions which had my backup on it. So now I don't have an OS. Eh. I shouldn't be doing this as tired as I am right now. Hopefully there is a way to load an OS back onto it via USB.

Yes, you can use adb sideload inside twrp. For more info Google is your friend.

fastboot will save you in the end. Or adb sideload as well.

I tried to install the 4.4 Android update on my Nexus 4 but upon reboot my phone started at the "four circles" screen. I thought it was installing correctly so I let my phone sit while plugged in, but when I checked back in four hours it was still stuck. Every time I reboot it gets stuck at the same screen.
I can access Recovery Mode but I don't have any backups for the system before I tried to install this update (really bad planning on my part, I know). After searching on Google it appears the only solution is a factory reset and installing files found on this website, but before I do that I want to pull my data off my phone. When I connect my phone to my computer via USB it doesn't show up at all under Computer.
I have the following programs installed that I think are relevant:
Team Win Recovery Project
SuperSU
Titanium Backup (with paid key)
I've tried scouring Google for days but I must not be using the right key words because I can't find anything relevant to my specific issue. I've found mention of "ADB Sideload" but I don't understand how that factors in-- I haven't found anything in simple enough terms for me to understand (I'm extremely un-knowledgable of phone-related tech talk).
Please help! Thank you!

From what I'm reading after Googling "adb backup" you need your phone to be able to start up. My phone can't start up, it can only go in to recovery mode. Also, when I backed up my files with TWRP and restored it, it also restored the faulty installation of Android 4.4. As far as I'm reading on adb backup it will backup everything the same way, so it will also reinstall the faulty installation of Android 4.4, in my understanding.
Is that right? Or is there something I'm missing where the adb backup file can be modified while on a computer where the old system files (for the phone) can be removed so it only restores the data? Also, I've read that the adb backup does not save any SMS messages, will it still save the SMS backup files I have through Titanium Backup?

Hey guys,
I keep trying to get PA to work on my phone and every time i install TWRP i get a new issue. Can anyone help me get back to stock so i can go back to CWM and CM11 which seems to be so much better on the G2?
My issue is that after managing to restore the stock OS using download mode i rooted and flashed TWRP, now when i restarted into TWRP i cant seem to get back to the OS. I did do a backup before playing around but it seems i can restore everything apart form data but even then it does not boot it just goes to a blank screen after the LG logo and the notification light is on but nothing else. Download mode is not working it just has the loading download mode icon and that's it.
I managed to push PA and gapps to my phone using adb push and stupidly decided to try that without pushing some back up roms and now after wiping and trying to install PA and gapps anything further i try to push now tells me its read-only through adb, i have tried doing adb remount and that does not work.
When i try to install PA and Gapps they seem to work but when i restart i am just stuck on the LG boot screen.
Please can you help i really have no idea what do to and i have googled around without much help.
My phone is LG G2 int 32gb
Thanks!
You should try to wipe all but internal storage. Then try to restore.

Could you please elaborate a bit more? Im new to TWRP and dont know the options by the prompts i get are: Factory reset / Advanced Wipe / Format Data.
I was just worried that i might wipe too much so have always gone with factory reset on TWRP as it says on their site that should be enough:
teamw.in/whattowipe
Should i do an advanced wipe and try again?
Everything but internal. Pictures and your rom etc are on internal . Yes. Factory reset, too. Other options are in advanced wipe

Hey thanks for the help, I have done the advanced wipe and attempted a restore however the data part still fails. I tried to push stuff using ADB again and it is either coming up with a protocol failure and the phone is restarting or it still says read-only file system.
Any other options available? Also what was the advanced wipe supposed to achieve in comparison to the normal one? (just asking as I'm interested in learning about the whole process)
hmm..can you enter twrp ? Just install a new one.

Hey,
I'm in TWRP and that works but what do you mean by install a new one, the only Rom option i have is the PA rom i put on the phone that does not seem to do anything and the backup i had that again does not seem to do anything
Twrp 2.7? Wipe all except internal. Factory reset, too. Try downloading some other rom and push it via adb.

Yup its 2.7. Should i wipe then try adb push without restoring? (ill have to wait and give it a go on my lunch break) and i have CM11 to install which i have been trying to push using adb but i either get protocol failure and the phone is restarting or it still says read-only file system. Do you think just wiping all except internal and doing a factory reset will help me get past the whole read only file system issue?

lets say adb is in c:\adb
start, cmd (you run the cmd)
cd c:\adb
(copy your rom also somewhere with short path, let's say c:\adb\rom.zip)
adb push rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip
or
adb push c:\adb\rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip
adb sideload doesn't have to be enabled

Thanks for your continued assistance, however its still showing up as as a read only file system in cmd and thus it cannot copy. Do you have any other ideas? I have tried adb remount and it is still coming up with the read only error
The only thing i can think of is to use an microsdreader like meenova and put a rom on the microsd and put it in your phone but i dont know or your twrp supports otg.

I have an OTG cable and it is there as an option under TWRP and i tried putting the roms on my 32gb stick and plugged it into the phone using the OTG cable however when i clicked mount OTG it just stalled for a bit and the option was never ticked, also looking through file manager when the cable was connected i did not see anything or the blue light on my usb stick illuminate. If i was doing it wrong please let me know though

@usb - try formatting it through windows once again. I've also had some issues with my usb stick.
Just thought i would throw out and update to see if it helps you guys troubleshoot.
After doing an advanced wipe when i use the power off through TWRP it mentioned that i have no SU installed and asks me if i wish to install it. I click yes and it does something quickly then my phone restarts (so not sure if it worked or not) however every time i try and do and adb push to my device now it just comes up with protocol failure and restarts the phone. Just to note when i do a restore to the non-working backup i have when i try and turn it off using that it does not prompt that i do not have SU.
So i hope this helps in some way, nut sure if getting these protocol failure errors is better then the read only errors i was getting but the fact that it keeps restarting my phone does not seem promising when i do this.

Well i guess you now have SU but the best thing to do is try to update the SU.
Try to Enable Usb debugging if it wasn't on yet. (I never had your error)
And also try to execute this when pushing a rom:
Code:
adb /kill-server
adb usb
adb push (romname) /sdcard
Or
adb push (romname) /storage/sdcard0
I don't know really about the last part anymore with adb pushing or these sdcard locations I said are right. The last time I used it was when i still had my phone :/
I hope this could fix your problem when you maybe accidently formatted your internal storage. If my sdcard locations aren't right could you correct me then? so people who also have this issue can fix it easily.
Thankyou
Hey guys, I was using TWRP to install a custom rom, but I accidentally wiped EVERYTHING off the internal storage (Format Data) Now it's completely blank, nothing at all on it. My computer doesn't even detect the amount of space on the device, and I can't send any files to it. Did I just permanently destroy this phone? Can it be fixed?
Will TWRP be gone if I reboot the phone? Help please

I did that once on my ls980. I just downloaded a stock tot image and used lgflashtools to go back to stock. Worked like a charm.

Do not reboot your phone, 'cause as you say, you wipe everything, so there is no more Android on it. Plug to your PC and try use ADB command instead of Graphic Explorer. If "adb devices" return your device, then your good to go and push a ROM on your phone. Else, the only way is to go in Download Mode and restore your phone with .kdz or .tot file.
Thanks for the help guys, I found a solution.

how to recover wiped internal storage by mistake using TWRP
Hi
I have Samsung galaxy s5 SM-g900h
recently, I tried to fix the flickering display at low back light. but I was not to catch the goal. finally I tried to change the custom ROM into lineage-14.1-20180907-nightly-k3gxx-signed. I wiped the dalvik and cache and system and date. by mistake, I ticked the internal storage and it wiped the whole phone.
I installed the ROM. but it has been installed into SD card. now, when I power my phone on, IT does not start. when I connect it to the computer, It shows two memory, one for internal storage with a empty folder of TWRP and one for sd card.
when I tried to install TWRP and use Odine to install ROM again, the download page does not start. I have a black screen.
would you please help me?
