Baseband Version Stuck? - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to attempt to update to Lollipop via the method on this forum.
However my phone bricked and I had to factory reset all the way to NCG.
However after I installed NHA, the baseband version continues to say NHA, despite me flashing NI2 and NK2 right after.
Is there a problem or is this normal?

Any ideas?

Try reflashing the corresponding Firmware via Odin for the current Build you are on. The Firmware, not just the Kernel.
You can find Firmware files in the Odin back to stock thread.

Whoops

I was attempting to revert to stock from pac rom 4.4.2, and made the mistake of attempting to flash 4.3 stock fw via odin. Obviously it failed. Flashed my custom recovery back thru odin and recovered a nandroid. Everything is working, wifi, data, lte...but no sound. Zip. Not even in calls. Guessing maybe flashed old 4.3 modem or kernel over the 4.4.2 stuff. Anyway, I'm downloading 4.4.2 RWC firmware for my i337m (canadian), but has anyone had this happen to them before? I've read similar scenarios, however no actual fixes. Anyone out there recover from this?

Thanks. I downloaded the stock firmware from samsumg-updates.com , a little painful as the mirrors are slow. I was correct, it was failing on flashing the last step, modem.bin file before when running kitkat pac 4.2.2 with clockworkmod recovery and attempting to revert to stock 4.3. So used stock 4.4.2 firmware to flash with odin, and now getting a successful flash. Thanks for the help.
And I have sound!

[Q] Flash Stock Rooted NAE, now Baseband & Software Version are unknown. Need Help.
So I flashed Unknownforce's Stock Rooted NAE Rom, now my Baseband version, Software version, IMEI number, etc. are all unknown. I've tried using odin to flash the NAE Firmware again, and no luck yet. I tried to do some googling and didn't find anything. Any and all help is much appreciated.

Have you tried flashing the stock .zip?
Do you have a link to the stock zip?

Try going to the app store and get a program called device info and it will answer all your questions. Also not sure what you flashed but you flash the modem then you install the stock rom from Philz or CWM as in the instructions. Hope this helps...

Some phones don't like the NAE firmware for some reason. (Mine is one of them) I would try flashing the MF9 firmware via ODIN with auto reboot unchecked. Make sure you turn off your phone, then boot into download mode. Don't restart directly to Download mode. After flash pull battery, then boot back into download mode and flash again. Then start regularly and see if your baseband and software are MF9.
I am running an NAE rom (Negalite Wonderom) with MF9 firmware. Runs great!

It's weird, I have the exact same problem as the OP no matter what I do on stock NAE, but on a custom NAE such as Sac's or Nega's everything works. I'm gonna flash stock nae and see if odin'ing MF9 firmware will work (I'm also on MF9 bootloader).

downgrade lollipop to kitkat 4.4.2

Hello. Today I installed on my notes 3 SM-N9005 lollipop 5.0 version Poland but I found them a few problems: the first is that the vibration of the keyboard does not work. I found two of the slowdowns in the task manager. Now if I want to return to kitkat I can do fleshando firmware via Odin? ??
+1
I asked the same question with no accurate answer, i found a thread on how to downgrade from leaked ver. Of lolipop and not the official one and i won't risk trying this method, what I'm asking for is it possible to downgrade to official kitkat using odin specially that i have ticked update bootloader button when i flashed official Lolipop.
Will this work or we are risking our mobiles for a brick?
Appreciate if someone answered us with a proven record.
Regards,
however I have seen videos on youtube that have made the downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3 fleshando only the firmaware dacendo and then wipe data / cache. I think the same procedure also applies to switch lollipop kitkat.
It's safe to downgrade using odin. I did it myself from the leaked and the official release (both of them with the bootloader updated). In case odin complains about size just check my last posts and use the PIT file I provided.

Hi,
I have downgraded from the Polish Lollipop without using a PIT file - successfully. You will need to carry out a data wipe and factory reset, but it worked fine.
I couldn't... flashing ENC2 with Odin gave me size error, flashing with PIT solved that, but my IMEI and Baseband were gone. I gave up at that point, flashed Lolipop again and am back to normal now.

Will flashing an older firmware get me out of the bootloop?

My model number is the SM-N910P. I was on Android 5.0.1 when I first rooted and flashed CM12.1 on my phone. However, as I incrementally updated the CM nightlies, my signal seemed to get weaker over time even to the point where I simply have no service at all. I decided to snoop around and found that updating firmwares may fix these random signal drops since I was still on the Sprint 5.0.1 firmware while running the CM12.1 based on 5.1.1.
I managed to successfully flash the official 5.1.1 firmware from the Sammobile website and thought for some reason the cf auto root file (based on 4.4.4 according to the site) would work with the 5.1.1 firmware. Obviously, that wasn't the case and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. I assume there is no root method that works with the 5.1.1 firmware yet. Is that true? I do believe that was the reason for the bootloop, but I'm not 100% certain.
I'm currently downloading both the 4.4.4 and the 5.0.1 firmwares. Will flashing either of these firmwares via Odin get rid of the bootloop? Or will it fail?
Thank you for the answers in advanced!

So I'm pretty certain the "N910PVPU1BOB7_N910PSPT1BOB7_N910PVPU1BOB7_HOME.tar.md5" is the 5.0.1 firmware file. However, it kept failing so I reflashed the 5.1.1 firmware and it oddly enough succeeded. I believe it kept failing because I actually had it flashed on my phone. I was working on the bootloop fix last night so I didn't keep track of which firmware I was flashing.
I managed to successfully get out of the bootloop after reflashing the 5.1.1 firmware. I will try to flash the 5.0.1 firmware again and TWRP.
EDIT: The 5.0.1 firmware was never flashed. I simply just can't seem to flash an older STOCK firmware ever since getting 5.1.1.
UPDATE: Since I couldn't manually flash an older stock firmware via ODIN, I decided to just go ahead and flash TWRP via ODIN then delete all the dalvik cache/cache stuff via advanced wipe. I managed to successfully flash the latest version of the CM12.1 nightlies and gapps zip through the TWRP install option with the current 5.1.1 firmware: N910PVPU4COG5

Bootloop issues

Hello there. So, this is my actual situation: I have a galaxy s4 on stock Lollipop. Due a few issues, I decided to try to downgrade to kitkat I flashed via Odin a stock kk fw, but unluckyly I Haven't considered Knox bootloader, and now the phone stucks in bootloop. I tried to enter recovery, but it doesn't even work.
Is there any way to save it? Actually, I'm downloading stock lollipop firmware to flash it from Odin. Could it work ?

Yes, flash the latest stock ROM in Odin to get the phone back to stock.
