Hello, I bought the AT&T Variant not looking into the Developer Forums and not Knowing AT&T also Locks bootloaders, Coming from Verizon on the GS4 (Rooted/Safetrap/Hyperdrive Rom) i should of known better and did a little more research on the device but it was a quick decision since i was already in the AT&T store and this just dropped that week, i had to have it. Fell in love, compared with the N4.. Eh wasn't that impressive i wanted something no one had and to make my iPhone drones friends envy. So i was gonna activate with AT&T but i remembered that Straight Talk uses the same Towers as AT&T i decided just to buy a kit and run a few tests myself, quickly learning how to get the best APN and doing multiple tests with different APN's i finally hit that sweet spot. and im glad to share my results on how to have a massive power horse at the tip of your fingers for a fraction of that high ugly contract bill from AT&T.

I totally agree with you.
Coming from a Verizon Note 2 and using it on Straight Talk, H+ wasn't doing it for me.
And since it also has a locked bootloader, I kind of killed it with the new root.
I need the phone for work so I took the dive and bought the phone yesterday from AT&T.
Today I find out that it also has a locked bootloader but I'm not going down the root path anymore so no big deal there.
I inserted the 4G LTE Straight Talk Sim card, set up the APN and it's AWESOME. I finally know how it feels to have LTE speeds.

thats right you are! keep being impressed. last year i did a very extensive testing of all 4 major networks. i did the tests just like this in three different markets. elizabethtown kentucky=rural indianapolis=metro louisville kentucky=mid way
and in the 30 days i tested the carriers sprint destroyed the other. i never lost 1 call with sprint, i lost 6 with att. 4 with tmo. and 1 with verizon. data speeds, sprint beat them all with verizon in second. and data while traveling (75 mph on I 65) i had data 100% with sprint, i hit a dead spot with verizon and att and tmo i didnt have it 30% of the time.
but anyways i ended up choosing sprint again. no one comes close to them IMHO.
thats my rant. i cant wait to get some developing on with the evo when i get it.
In your case it worked well, but I live in San Diego in a quite popular area and sprint service is mediocre at my house and my wife's workplace. In fact, at her workplace it is terrible. At&t was much better
Hi everyone. I've had a nexus one since Jan. when it came out, and I was still back with T-Mobile. Skip to June, the iPhone4 comes out, and I get drawn in by all the hype. I signed a 2-year contract (unfortunately), and now I'm stuck with AT&T.
Problem is, iOS is just really not for me. I really miss Android and my Nexus One. I miss it so much that I bought a microSIM adapter and I use my Nexus One instead of my iPhone4 even though I can only use the edge network.
So yeah, I'm basically looking for someone who is looking to switch over to T-Mobile (Their prices are great! I would if I could!) and also has a Nexus One that they would like to swap. My Nexus has signs of wear, but it still looks beautiful. Nothing is broken, it still works exactly as if it were new.
If nobody wants to do the trade, can someone at least tell me where I would be able to find someone who does?

I would but how can we do this I got shafted on my last trade

Oh God, I didn't think about how tough it would be to exchange phones online.
I'm not sure how well Norton Security "locks" the phone, but we could both use the app to lock the phones until we've received the other phone. It lets us GPS track it and everything, so if anyone tries anything funny, we would at least have an address.

Don't know if that's over dramatic, not enough safety for you, or what, but send me a private message if you're interested.
Does Norton stay on the phone after a wipe from recovery?

Not unless you move the app to /system/app
All,

Samsung says "sometime in august". Hope I can continue waiting. Been off contract on my 3gs for 1 month and it's killing me.
Yes I read a similar article at mobile burn website that the GSII will be released most likely on the three major carriers (sorry four), not sure.
Your best bet is to buy the international version of the Galaxy SII b/c it comes completly unlock and you will take advantage of all, I mean all of its features then to buy the at&t or other American Telecom variant b/c they will mess them up very bad.
They giant telecoms will install their own software and firmware that they'll even disable the most menial features the Galaxy SII can perform and in order to fully enjoy it you'll have to end up rooting it and having to install custom ROMs (nothing wrong with that if your'll willing to take the dive), but I love my unlocked Galaxy SII.
Normally I'd know who you're talking about, except all signs have pointed towards Sprint getting one so now I'm not sure who you mean!

Well pao23 which carrier are you on now? I'm on at&t and it was convenient for me to get the unlocked Galaxy SII b/c it is compatible with at&t's HSPA+ network on frequencies of 1900/850 Mhz (which are the ones here in America on at&t), but if you have Sprint, then it uses a different technology (CDMA) not GSM/HSPA+ so you'll have to wait until the CDMA version is released by Sprint.
HEY AMERICA! I'll probably have a quad core phone by the time the SGS 2 gets onto your soil!

Okay so im still sort of new to this whole forum and so far I've talked to some great people who have helped me understand how to root, and theme haha thanks.
But this is a serious matter. My mother has Verizon wireless their tech support can't figure out whats going on with her phone and shes getting death threats and lawsuits.
She has switched out her phone 2 times, changed her number twice and it still sends out messages of spam, like to random numbers, Pretty much she's spoof'd. I have looked at her phone and I've yet to see any strange apps, I've ran scans, she doesn't even have an SD card anymore. While she was transitioning to a new phone tho, they gave her a loaner phone, before she got out of the store she had 13 new messages sent out to random people.
I'm stumped, Verizon is stumped my moms freaking out etc.
I have also updated her phone to 5.0 here are the screen shots and the actual model of the device.

Make a new account and set up 2 step
I'd like to get one and my easiest way of acquiring one is through a local carrier, but I'm worried if it will have some kind of pitfall. Will I stop getting updates? Will they be slow to arrive? Can it be turned to a stock pure version without the bloatware via a stock rom? Is it worth it? Keep in mind it's the XT1563 latin american version. And the carrier is Nextel.
I bought mine from Mercadolibre (XT1563), I wasnt aware I got the double sim version until I opened it, it seem mine runs with the iusacell rom.
I have been asking my self the same questions.
Updates may be a bit slower to come out. As for bloatware, the only one I found on my Koodo device was the Koodo Self Serve app.
I got mine through Telus, it doesn't have anything extra (Telus bloatware). Updates come in not to bad from them (timely).

Do you try 4g LTE networks with other carriers like Telcel?

Yup, 4G works really nice, at least on Telcel network in my area.
