Apparently Google released the 5.1 Lollipop update yesterday to the Nexus devices. Hopefully it will come soon to our LG G3s. I am hoping that they will release it in the USA instead of the 5.0 update that has been delayed.

They released it for the Android One and testing it on the nexus`s. I guess OEMS have it too and they are testing it.
I think that going by how fast we got the 5.0 update, we will get 5.1 update as well. Sooner rather than later.

Yes, I agree
I read somewhere that you can gain double the performance in some circumstances with the 5.1 update. If that's true, I'm really excited about this release. I really liked lollipop on both my Nexus 7 and my Moto G. It's a great update, probably the best one Google has ever done. The ART runtime is amazing and it sounds like they've made it even better, faster, and more memory efficient in the 5.1 update.

Unless of course you live in the US. We still don't have it. But it's okay. We all use the bloatware carriers put on our devices and in no way root immediately and remove any of it. It's a good thing it's delayed for months because I don't know what we would do if we didn't have access to AT&T Remote Support, Mobile Locate, AT&T Live and AT&T Locker. Those apps are lifesavers. -.-
Cant wait to see if there will be any leaked pictures of 5.1. Hope lg is working on it... How does everything think it would run on this device. Slow? Same? Better?

None.
You all can ask them on twitter so we can get some answers.
If you guys ask for the official release then i think it will take a while. Lg g4 is rolling out in 20 days so taht will delay the official 5.1 for our device.
I ll stick with custom 5.1 roms and surely i ll wait for the blisspop 5.1

So, im not rooted, dont thinking anyway to root my phone to lose my warranty.
My Question is, will we receive Android 4.4.4 ? Is it already confirmed that we will get Android L ?

4.4.4 had only changes made mainly for Nexus devices. These changes are likely already added in our 4.4.2 firmware so my guess is we will jump straight to L

True. At least we have something to enjoy thanks to these wonderful developers. But I believe android L on G2 will be more smoother and will have better battery life and ART enabled by default. Fingers crossed. Always love to have LG updates but sadly they take ages to release updates compared to other manufacturers.
LG actually doesn't like the minor updates, that's why we don't get 4.4.4, but they do update their phones when major changes appear.

Yeah, all of us speaking about L update according to Italian blog.
A reader of italian site(Androidworld.it) ,write an email to Sony Italy for lollipop update for his xperia z1. They respond to tell him that update is coming for all z series in half of Febbruary. I don't know if they change their plans about the update of xperia z3 and z2 (they will be update first...according by Sony ) but i think we have a good information now link here:http://www.androidworld.it/2015/01/30/sony-italia-conferma-aggiornamento-lollipop-270760/ sorry for the english

Also, if that is true, im surprised because wouldn't it be easier for sony to release 5.0.2 straight away instead of going to 5.0 first?
We should get 5.0.2. So, if we wouldn't wait longer, we had 5.0 allready.

No, we probably getting 5.0.2(or 5.0.1)... infact in official site of sony , they don't say we have android 4.4.4 in xperia z2 or z3...but android 4.4 kitkat(and the differecence between 4.4 and 4.4.4 are important). They put a generic version... but the update is probably last And if it is really android 5.0...they're always work hard to make a very stable firmware..they can make a really good firmware with 5.0 base too..it explains the lot of time to roll out the firmware and android lollipop from the base is very buggy.... samsung galaxy s5 for example have android 5.0 base for the last firmware...but is more bugless than a nexus flagship with android 5.0.1

Again a comparison against 2 different devices, a good friend of mine had an S4 and update and that phone was totally dead and wont start anymore, she had mine in hands (my Z2) and she sold her S4 immidiatly and buyed a Sony and she is very happy now.. Enough said

Crapsung, I used to own an XPERIA x10, I upgraded to and S3 after a long while of owning that phone. I must say, it was an upgrade in speed and battery, but everyone with a decent brain should udnerstand that. I was not really happy with the phone, alot of problems, not only me, alot of others too. After my S3 I bought a Sony again, the XPERIA z2. Not even ONE problem with my phone anymore. No lags, nothing, everything is perfect. Never buying a Samsung again, overrated plastic. But my S3 is not out of service by the way. It still works, not smooth and perfect though as my Z2, my mom is using it with sometimes complaints.

http://officialandroid.blogspot.de/2015/03/android-51-unwrapping-new-lollipop.html
edit: It's true! It's rolling out after more than 3 month of waiting
Well someone mentioned it in another topic. I think we'll have to wait a few days (or weeks). Mostlikely we'll see a custom 5.1 first, as the source code is already published.
Anyways, I look forward and hope that the did something with the memory management. I looked at their changelog and saw that ~20 memory leaks was found and fixed. That is the major issue for me at the moment. Multitaksing with two tabs in Chrome and spotify playing along with FB+messenger is really horrible. Also I'm planning to run custom ROM/Kernel after they have been updated to 5.1.

Ugh well this is taking way too long. The memory leaks are making my Nexus 9 almost unusable at this point. Not exactly something I expected when I paid $600+ shipped to Canada for the 32 GB at launch.

If I downgrade, I think there is some sort of counter that tells Sky Go that I have rooted and Sky Go won't work. At least that's what I heard!

As long as it's not a very well made scam it seems Motorola just made official that the Android 8 update is ready: https://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/Solution/MS126318. I can't verify it since it always takes a bit till everyone gets the OTA, but the website seems to be the official one.
Has anyone received it yet and can shed some light on it like have they finally made it 64 bit (I know, good joke) or if they finally have a working F2FS implementation so Magisk can be installed without some workaround?
And how is battery life looking? I mean it's already great but was Google able to make it even better?
EDIT: was too good to be true. They just removed that website. They really know how to hold the tension

If Motorola shares the information about the update, it's definately coming soon (maybe this week).
I don't care if someone has "different information" that can't be discussed.
Can't wait for it, i might go back to stock (+ xposed) or look for a 8.1 custom rom, i think after the official update there will pop up many updated ones soon.
