it is stock. 100% factory stock, locked bootloader and all. just booted from the packaging and entered gmail info. the thing is, when i go to factory reset it maybe 90% of the time it can't complete it because of the rebooting

Actually use this. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369) This is ATT specific.
But I doubt it will help.
I am in same boat but unlike you my phone starting doing RR 7 days after my warranty expired.
I was feeling bad but looking at your video I guess it would not have mattered even if mine was under warranty.
I tried reverting to stock etc but no dice. Most likely HW issue .
Let me know if you find a solution. I like this phone and it worked fine for a year.

yep, same result. keeps rebooting. so after trying safe mode and this i've concluded it's a hardware issue. and i have no recourse from the mfr. even with it under warranty. good times

Atrix will not boot

I am returning the Atrix back to factory so I did a factory reset from the phone, but it's not booting into the phone now. It stays stuck at the AT&T rethink possible logo.
Im pretty sure this was caused by the root. Anyway to get it to boot again?
Returning the phone back to AT&T, not liking the phone. I will never buy another AT&T branded phone.
EDIT: I forgot to unroot the phone, that's what caused it..
Anyone? 10-chars
so you rooted it incorrectly and blame it on ATT ?
You did un-root it didn't you?

to me it sounds like he bricked the phone because he didnt root it right
and he didnt like the phone because its now a brick
shoot, i wouldnt like a brick either ....
I think there is a post in dev section listing possible key combinations for "extra" boot menu/options. Maybe one of them can help. I havent tried any of them so I can be sure. Try plugging it in to a wall for a while powered off. Maybe pull the battery and charge it for a few minutes and try again. I am having trouble getting mine to boot at all because the battery drained.

i "think" he just didn't read instructions right, bricked his phone, and now just doesnt like the phone, and hes done with ATT. that was my interpretation.
Yea. sounds like he rooted the phone and didn't un-root. Bricked the phone and now hates ATT because he has a brick.,
I am not blaming AT&T. I simply don't like the phone and forgot to unroot the phone before I did a factory reset. Now I hate it more that its bricked Maybe I should just bring it to a store and return it since they don't usually check to see if the phone is working.

FYI. I rooted and it was working fine. Removed everything possible with root explorer. But still not liking the phone simply because of not having hsupa.

How hard can 1 button root be? I just forgot to click the "un-root" button before I did a factory reset.....and now I have a brick... Just need to return it to stock so I can return it to AT&T.
I don't like the phone because it's crippled not only by Motorola, but also by AT&T....This is the reason why I'm never going to buy an AT&T branded phone again...
you must have done something else, because i did a factory reset without unrooting mine. and it's just fine.
I'm betting you screwed something up with this bit

edit: and this is the least crippled phone from AT&T yet. Just about everything was removable without root, which is unheard of on an AT&T phone.

Could be....I didn't really delete them, but actually renamed them to *.bak.
I agree with you on the phone being the least crippled by AT&T......but crippling the HSUPA on a "4G" (HSPA+) phone? Really?
Did AT&T charge you for restocking fee? I'm tempted to get this phone but just want to be sure I can return it if I don't like the performance.

I didn't return it yet. Trying to fix it first. I think they charge you a $35 restocking fee.
I'm in the same boat as the op. Did you change the /system folder to r/w in root explorer? I think that may be the commonality.
Clueless as to how to unbrick this thing.
Edit: To clarify, I did not do a factory reset. I rooted yesterday and it was working fine, and then I rebooted it today and got stuck at rethink possible.

Yes. I did change the system/apps folder to r/w in order to rename/delete things that I want to get rid of. I might just ship it back this way :x

Atrix Warranty work? (GPS not locking)

I think my GPS is fubar... I've reinstalled my custom rom and from fresh the GPS is still having problems locking to satellites. It sees them, but can't lock for a long time, then it only locks 4/5 my xoom and my gf's atrix gets to lock on within seconds and 9/10 and i'll be at 4/9
sooo, I'm gonna put a stock ROM on and see what happens... if still problems, I want to take it back and have them try to replace it or something...
but here is the problem. it's unlocked boot, and also got CWM and stuff...
how can I bring the phone back to it's factory setting? just like how I got it from AT&T...
I want to see if I can have AT&T just replace it with warranty or something...
Before you get into any of that, here's a fix that worked for me. I was experiencing the same problem, until about a week ago when I tried this:
Go to settings --> Location and security --> uncheck "Use Wireless Networks".
Now, just turn on GPS like normal and see if it locks.
My guess is that the phone should override using wireless networks while locking on GPS, but it doesn't.

You can flash the stock gingerbread SBF and you'll be 100% back to stock. I've done this on two different phones (coming from cm7) and was able to warranty. You'll only hard brick if you flash a froyo SBF once you've upgraded to gingerbread. Gingerbread to gingerbread is OK.
I have the same issue and I just started the warranty exchange process (second time, first time was due to the phone rebooting constantly). I tried all sorts of things to troubleshoot - wifi on/off, removing battery for 15 minutes, running GPS utility apps, etc. Nothing worked - the GPS does not provide a fix.

Even if it is unlocked? I'm afraid they might see the "unlocked" message on boot and reject my warranty. I have muffled sound issue so I need to do an exchange.

After all sorts of Magic, it still wont work.
Is there an sbf file you can link me to?
iirc its done via RSD
If anything ill do it and see how the gps acts.
I do have an sbf file but honestly i dont know if its ginger or froyo, so imdont wanna risk it. Lol
my GPS takes forever to lock now when it used to only take a few seconds.
But after a few minutes it locks on. still though..annoying. Ive gone back to using my old garmin
Thank you for your kind comment. Lol
But does anyone have link to gb sbf? And i think I need radio along with it?

If you have to send it in, I don't think they care about it unless it is liquid or physical damage. I've sent in two unlocked and rooted phones no prob. Even told them I had done it to make sure that I didn't get the replacement charge.
Would they give me a replacement at att store? I assume not. They probably do t have them anyways...
There is no way I'm paying that deductible either far as I know rooting does void the warranty so...

crap.
No. They have to send it out, and they send out a refurbished phone, but at least it works. Just call and try it. They never charged me any fee. They told me all that they we're concerned about was liquid and physical damage. Just tell them up front. You might be surprised.

So there is a DSC in certain areas (Device Support Center) and what they do is, if they can't fix your phone on the spot, they give you a new one. which is what they did for me.
sweet!

Is this in reference to the thread I posted as well? If so at what point did you get stuck with the reflash to stock? or did you not want to have to go back to stock?
no flashing...just rooting then stuck....then I used LG tool to put the original firmware and it worked and it says phone is unrooted now and touchscreen is still not working. I will send it to warranty i think.

Ya I just did some digging to see what other options there were and came up short... if attempting warranty doesn't work, (they won't honor) you can try a screen replacement. It is fairly easy on these phones. You can always claim insurance if you have it as well though depending on your plan it may still be a better option to attempt it yourself. I gave up on insurance after best buy stopped covering phones they didn't sell to you directly so I'm not sure what the plans look like today. If you do go the warranty route let me know how it turns out.

Camera Error Please Restart?

2 Weeks ago a friend received his droid turbo exact same problem from Motorola.. someone tell me my camera didn't go bad.
Did any of you had same problems?
PS. my bootloader is unlocked but if this is hardware issue motorola has to take care of it.
EDIT: did a nandroid.. camera still does not work.. perfect 1 month old phone and already camera is dead.

EDIT: booted into safe mode and still same thing this makes me 100% sure even if I restore to stock it will do nothing for me. I will do restore it anyways b4 sending it to motorola.
EDIT2: ok I can't explain how this helps but.. I read this guys response to switch user to guest or any other and camera works again lol wow..

Wifi causing crashes?

So, I just got myself a brand new Nexus 6P today, and I'm in love. However, after unlocking the bootloader, connecting to my Wifi network (haven't gotten to test others yet) seems to cause my device to slow down and lock up. This happens on both the stock rom and on cyanogenmod. Has anybody else experienced this, or know how to fix it without RMAing my phone?

I never faced any such problem, ever. Which Android version and build number are you currently running on your 6P?
Also did you try re-locking and then checking if it works fine?

I'm on Android 6.0.1 and my build number is rather large because I'm on cyanogenmod right now, you can see a screenshot of my about page if you go to imgur slash 1b8VtH7 and yes, it did persist when I re-locked it
EDIT: If you want, I can make a video of the behavior so you can see it for yourself.

I could see in the screenshot that your radio version is latest, so my doubts are clear, and everything is fine there. To rule out the software aspect completely, you could give a try to a factory reset by flashing the factory image.
If that doesn't work, I would advise you to re-lock bootloader, and take your phone to the service centre.
Yeah, I was gonna give re-flashing stock a try in the morning. As far as bringing it to a service center, I've got no idea what to do, since I bought the phone through Amazon. Hopefully there should be some sort of RMA procedure available through them

Good luck. :good:
Even I brought my Nexus 6P through Amazon India. I had an issue with a misplaced volume key, so what I did was, I restored stock, relocked and took the phone to the nearest Huawei service centre. Took the phone, box, and all accessories, and also a copy of invoice from Amazon itself.
