Hi I can't seem to roomt my device. I have spent the last day or so following guides that seem to work, but after I run through them, Root Checker tells me I am not rooted.
I have got Odin3, Kies3, in usb debug mode, and in download mode.
I tried towelroot (not supported).
I tried this awesome guide by "TheSmokingAndroid" - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283918 - everything seem to work with this tutorial but in the end root checker says Im not rooted
I've also tried using Odin3 throuigh this another guide, installed a custom rom "n2" rebooted, and wasnt rooted.
No idea what I am doing wrong or if I am following an old guide? Any advice or links would be appreciated?
Install this APP and add some screenshots pls.

Hi everyone, I'm having some issues trying to root my Note 3 SM-N900V on MJE. Here are the methods I have tried thus far:
-Installed/Ran Kingo
*Result: Device not supported (Multiple attempts, tried USB 2.0/3.0, uninstall/reinstall drivers and applications, flashed stock MJE rom then ran - same result)
-URDLV
*Result: Odin FAILED (used MJE from provided link to create .tar in terminal window, made second .tar in terminal using MJE from sammobile - same result, had to flash stock rom with Odin to get phone working again)
Is there a way to root this phone?
Same problem.....can't root this phone
I have tried everything.... anyone have a solution????

Use vroot. It will and it will not trip Knox. I soft bricked mine this morning after screwing around. I used Odin to get back to stock MJE then I rooted with vroot. It a simple one click root but you have to search for the method of removing the Chinese superuser

For this device you need Kingo 1.1.8. (Found on there Facebook page) If you downloaded Kingo from there site, it is the newest version witch may not work properly. Uninstall the version you have, reboot your PC and install 1.1.8. You may need to run Kingo more than one time before it takes. I had to run it 3 time before it took.
Good luck

Thank you for the reply, this is what I ended up using and it worked flawlessly. Installed app, clicked root, and I was rooted.
For those who don't know: Only drawback to Vroot is that it installs Chinese SU. For fix, type 'Replace Chinese Superuser' into google and follow first, or second link (first is video). (can't provide link because I haven't posted 10 times :/ ) The fix is easy and works instantaneously.

As far as Kingo 1.1.8 goes I was never able to find it... I read that people had success with that version but every time I followed links to obtain it I just got the same ole 1.2.0. (went to FB page and installed version was 1.2)
Thanks again for all the help everyone, Vroot did it for me
Cool, glad it worked out for ya.

I've tried with Kingo and Vroot and that was a no go so I tried Root de la Vega and that did not work. It would start downloading onto the phone and then about 30 seconds in I would keep getting a secure check fail (cache) what does that mean and how can i get around it. Every time that happens it soft bricks and I would have to Odin back to stock. I just bought my phone on Friday the 28th of March. Is is possible that they have patched that way of rooting in later phones like mine.??
Even though Kingo says its not successful, check your apps for superuser and then use a root checker. It told me it failed until I unplugged it. And root checker said that I was rooted. Halfway through the process make sure you accept the app for a camera. Dan
I used this method and it worked 1st try

I just rooted on my MJE Verizon Note 3
I tried the latest version from the site and that did not work...
You need to do the following:
1. Load the latest driver from samsung for your phone... The Mobile Drivers...
2. Make sure you restart your computer after drivers install
3. Then plug in your N3 and let windows do its stuff and you may need to restart again after its done installing
4. Make sure you are in debug mode and unknown sources is checked
5. Then you need to download this file (older ver of kingo) (THANKS to BluPhant)
6. This is what worked for me and now i have a rooted phone...
Also thanks to bajasur for the BAJA ROM and Support....

Thank you so much for that info! I followed it step by step and finally got root!!!!!
I tried follow 2 separate quick or auto-root guides for this phone, but after performing the room, I am no longer able to access the device via USB or use the WI-FI on the device. The Wi-Fi gives an invalid sim card as the excuse (I don't have an active one right now), and the USB isn't working even after installing drivers and software from Samsungs site, and messing with the usb menu numbers. USB works in order to root the device, and it worked prior to rooting. HELP?!
Or you flashed the wrong version of CF auto-root or you need to remove Knox.

Thanks, finally got the phone rooted, what is the easiest way to unlock the phone from this point? It's at 4.4.4 model M919. I can only find guides for 4.4.2, but those do not work. Is the best option to flash to an older version? How is that done?
I'm following this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068

You probably need to temporarily flash an old modem. Then apply that procedure and then flash back a correct modem.
Just got my s5 a couple weeks ago and looked into rooting it recently but I for the life of me can't get towelroot to work. I have followed the guides in both http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53447942&postcount=1 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784860 with no success. Whenever I get to the part where they say install/run towelroot I open it, hit make it rain and it says my phone isn't supported. What do.

Read a lot more before going any further. If you are running the latest update you need to roll back the firmware before rooting it. Look and see if you are running NI2 firmware. If so then read this.

If you are on NI2 and followed my guide under How to Root NI2 and use the files I have linked there it will work. If are not on NI2 download the full NI2 tar, flash it in Odin and follow the instructions posted. Again make sure you use the files in my post, I've used them many times on miltiple phones and they work.

Just out of curiosity have you checked to see if you have root? I thought I was in the same boat as you until I checked with root checker and found out Towel root had already rooted my phone. Towel root doesn't do anything spectacular to let you know when it roots you and you'll get the unsupported device if you already have root.
I have gone through the rooting process for a couple days no luck. Can the rooting be done without a pc /Odin ? When I tried to root it says that the SuperSu binary needs to be installed manually I am still having trouble. ANYBODY.....?? Thanks
