Samsung Pass API - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone test the Samsung Pass API to access to the fingerprint sensor ?
Is it possible to retrieve raw fingerprint data (finger template) or is it only providing access to the fingerprint verifying system of the S5 ?
Thx

Permanent Save flash API

Does anyone know how the Permanent Save feature in the settings>System panel works? Is there an accessible API for writing/reading to this flash storage area?
Thanks,

Using VPN or WiFi Certs and the need to use pin/pass

Setting up a vpn connection or installing wifi certificates is forcing to use a pin or a password.
And there are some ways to edit the lockscreen.db in dada/system...
BUT now with the s5 we have fingerprint sensor, which is quite nice to use and I'd like to know
if there is a way to remove the restrictions of using a pin/pass as mentioned above
to setup fingerprint after installing all the certs.
Of course the first thing "not beeing forced to use a different locking method" would be prefered.
I tried to set the lockscreen.password.type to the number of the fingerprint sensor, but this did not work, and it deleted the wifi-certificates.
Any ideas?
I tried to backup the folders
/data/misc/keychain
/data/misc/keystore
with a root explorer and wiped the certs from the device.
Set fingerprint as a locking methode and copied the mentioned folders back there.
Now I see my wifi with the certs, but it seems not to be installed correctly, since I can't see it in "security/trusted user certs".
Anyone with another hint on how to solve that?

[FIX] Disable Fingerprint Sensor & Wake Up Completely

I see so many questions in threads. Even if you don't set a fingerprint password, sensor still works and screen opens up. This can be annoying. So if you're not using fingerprint at all you can delete (or temporarily disable) it from your ROM.
This will completely disable all fingerprint settings, fingerprint sensor, fingerprint wake-up
● For all MIUI ROMs delete or rename these files:
Code:
/system/priv-app/FingerprintExtensionService.apk
/system/lib/hw/fingerprint.searchf.so
/system/lib/libcom_fingerprints_service.so
/system/lib64/libcom_fingerprints_service.so
/system/lib64/hw/fingerprint.goodix.so
/system/lib64/hw/fingerprint.searchf.so
/system/lib64/hw/gxfingerprint.default.so
● For all Nougat & Oreo ROMs delete or rename these files:
Code:
/system/lib/hw/fingerprint.searchf.so
/system/lib64/hw/fingerprint.goodix.so
/system/lib64/hw/fingerprint.searchf.so
/system/lib64/hw/gxfingerprint.default.so
Any idea for rootless rom? Im using stock rom miui 9.2.10
I rename /system/bin/fingerprint file to any name and reboot... to me works like a charm
Great... I did it with successful.
Great!
Worked for "Redmi 4X"
Another solution for rooted device here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-3/how-to/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-completely-disable-t3915208
does this method work on redmi note 8 ? (miui 11 and 12)
