[Q] Working custom Roms? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have an AT&T Galaxy S4 i337, with the MK2 Firmware.
For the life of me, I can not find a 4.4.4 "google edition" ROM that works. Either the wifi won't turn on, there's a bunch of bloat, non-google apps, or it won't boot at all, or it won't shut down. I've tried about 10 different configurations so far, and it's driving me nuts. Why can't I get any non-stock ROM to work on my phone?
Can anyone point me to some known compatible ROMs to check out?
At this point I'm even willing to try a touchwiz based one if I can upgrade past 4.3

[Q] Convert I337M to real google edition

Is there a way to convert a Galaxy S4 I337M to a real google edition? I don't mean flahsing a ROM, etc....I mean, really converting it....to recieve OTAs, etc.
To my knowledge the answer to your question is no...
The GPE of the S4 is a separate device running a separate bootloader. Flashing a GPE Rom is the only way to get the experience of it on the I337M.
interesting question....i have seen posts about turning the i9505 variant but nothing for i337M
wonder if the the process applied to i9505 will work for i337M
Short answer no. At least not "pure" GPE.
Rom would be the way to go. I have Kangabean Google Edition rom which works great.
I agree with swagmiester, I've ran kangabean for a while as my daily driver and it seems to be the smoothest most stable version of 4.3 GE Roms. To me it was smoother than any ROM I've tried yet except for Graviton. But Graviton is a 4.2.2 Rom. But I don't know if you could convert to get OTA's if you would want to. OTA may make you loose root with no new root method, or lock boot loader (if that's possible. Don't really know much about the true GE S4). And may not get proper radios/modems for your carrier. To my understanding OTA's are carrier specific for that reason as well as all their other BS they want to flood your device with.

[Q] Wait... What? Kitkat on V-Note3?

So taking a look around the net today, I came across an article that states that you can flash Kitkat onto N900 (Galaxy Note 3) using Odin... Does/Would this also include the Verizon version of the Note 3? I was under the belief that Verizon's bootloader didn't allow for KitKat installations because of some kernel compatibility issue or something keeping it from working... But would this allow for a Kitkat working install on (non-dev-edition) Ver-Note3? And if so, would this allow lay the groundwork for devs to be able to create install-able kitkat roms for said device? Any and all info/help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I'm sure there's a great deal of want for people with the Verizon Note 3 to be able to have KitKat, myself included!

This applies to the international version only sm-900 witch has a unlocked bootloader. I'm almost positive someone here tried it and bricked their phone.

[Q] Need help... Flashed CM 11 to Galaxy s4.. Problems!!

Model: Galaxy S4 SCH-R970UK
Carrier: US Cellular
Problem: Cannot activate phone. No LTE/MMS
So I flashed the CM 11 Nightly Rom to my S4. It went well, The bootloader didn't put the brakes on me. It booted and I was loving the rom, I begin the *228 activation process and it doesn't go through successfully. I rebooted and removed the battery hoping it would remedy the situation.
Nope.
After many, MANY failed attempts, conversations with US Cellular Technical Support, A visit to the store.. I decided to factory reset and flash the stock firmware to the device. Did all that.. Still no activation.
I need help please, If anyone can give me a heads up where to go from here.
Currently looking at a different version (same model) of the Stock Firmware. Not sure if I should trust the source though.
Side question, Is Terafile.co, More specifically Samsung-updates.com ...?

[Q] Cyanogenmod on USCC S4 issue

I had an issue where when I installed Cyanogenmod that my S4 was stuck in roaming. USCC tried for two hours to get it working but then filed for a replacement under warranty. Well I got this one running after trying many things. I used ODIN to go back to kitkat and followed this post.
http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/topic/2592-last-attempt-to-fix-stuck-in-roaming-mode-for-the-sgs3/
It worked and fixed the roaming issue and now I can use my phone as like before.
I want to use Cyanogenmod but what can I do to avoid this issue again? Also, where can I find other ROMs compatible with my device?

[Q] Back in the Saddle....with a Sprint GS5

Hello everyone!
It has been a while since I have been on XDA and I am back in the saddle with a Sprint GS5.
Technically, I am going to purchase my GS5 today or tomorrow and I am interested in getting rid of the all the Bloat on the phone (Samsung stuff, etc). A few questions I have are as follows:
Using the Link below, I will be unlocking and rooting the phone, it appears to be pretty self explanatory, is this the best option to use?
Just in case, is there a default or stock Samsung Sprint ROM I can restore? For example, there were default roms your could restore on your phone to take back to the store for warranty work?
Are there any barebones Kit Kat 4.4.X roms that can be run on the GS5? I am coming off a MotoX which I loved the stock KitKat ROM
I see there are a few different recoveries to use, does one work better than the other? Easier to use?
The Galaxy ~S5~ All in one support thread!**NOOB FRIENDLY**
Thanks for any help and suggestions (Links, readying, etc.)
