The phone turns off randomly and i'm unable to turn it back on unless i'll take out the battery for a moment or connect it to a charger.
When using the charger method, the phone will display the empty battery animation but turns on when i hold the power button.
I can't point a specific scenario that cause the shut down, however, it seems like the phone uses more power than the battery can provide.
For example:
Happens in various battery percentage.
Happens more frequently when using navigation or Bluetooth.
Happened with stock kit kat rom.
Happened with cm12 (philz touch 6 recovery).

Sounds like a defect battery to me. Is there a bulge or bubbles on it?
Have you tried a new one?

at my 9005 work fine
CivZ-KK_Xplorer-Rev1.9-sm_n9005-4.4.2
it's very good
but i dont like cm 12
I want to try to replace the kernel, but since i'm using cm12 (5.0.2 lollipop) i can't determine by myself which one to install.
The n9005 kernels page here on xda show only kernel with kit-kat versions in the title or no info at all.
Ultimate kernel page for example doesn't say if it will work.
Olso, do i need to touch the rom or i can just install the kernel from the recovery and then reboot into my already installed cm12 rom.
Thanks for the advices.

The question is how do i put the original rom from tmobile germany back into my phone without odin , just with recovery mod ?
i coulndt find nothing on internet regarding this , just using odin , because when i try to start the phone i just pop the image with syah kernel and the guys from waranty will see this and my phone will be sended back as defect as i send it .

any answers ?
does not sound normal... I'm running modded stock 422 with faux kernal , screen turns on instantly, no lag with apps....
This should definitely not be happening.
Can you give us more details? What version ROM are you running? Have you done any modification to the device?

Try deleting apps that u installed recently. One of those apps might be causing this.

you should do a factory reset back to a clean phone , see if problems go away , then added your apps 1 at a time to see if a app is causing this.
in settings backup and reset i would uncheck automatic restore so it doesn't load all the apps you had downloaded to your phone prior to wipe
or you could use mskips tool kit to reflash stock rom , the tool kit can root, unlock, add custom recovery, reflash to stock to rma, it does a lot and is super easy to use...
wug's tool kit does the same things also, with a nicer looking interface
Hi,
I have an issue with my GT-i9505 on XXUAMF8.
When i bougth the phone, nfc worked perfectly and i used it occasionally.
Now, after a few update (always stock rom), the nfc seem to not work anymore.
I have the option to activate it, all is ok and green, but there is no action when i use tags or other device like s4 for S-beam fonction.
I just have the last Faux kernel, some nfc application to write tags...
Don't know the source of the problem !
Thanks.
No idea ?
Do you use wireless charging now? Because it could block the antenna which is in the battery.
No, i don't have that.
Stock rooted or pure TW stock?
Heard something somewhere about custom ROMs (rooted) or kernels blocks NFC or something like that.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
I just have custom kernel, custom recovery and root.
My dad have same phone, just rooted and his nfc works.
Try a different kernel. Perhaps the same one that your dad is using. If that doesn't work, try powering down and pulling the battery to reset the NFC circuit (located inside the battery).

I try to remove the battery, no effect...
My dad just have stock rom with cf-auto-root...
Then try the stock kernel. The custom kernel might be the problem.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
Even with stock kernel i have the issue... maybe hardware problem ?
I don't know what else to suggest besides returning to 100% stock to rule out a hardware failure.
Perhaps try clearing data from the NFC Service app in the application manager?

I think i'm gonna wait for a stable google edition 4.3 rom and do a full wipe...
Go to a service centre if you have warranty and they will do all the dirty work, figure out if it's hardware / software and fix it themselves, return to stock first.
I did a full wipe and nothing... Mybe the MF8 rom has issue with french s4...
When i put my phone and a Xperia Z back to back, my phone make the NFC sound so it's not a hardware problem ?!
No other idea ?

I'm on MF8 and I have no problem with NFC. (Stock kernel and pre-rooted MF8)
Ok so it's not related to the rom...
ive only heard of deodexed roms not being able to use nfc?
Hi,
I hope I made this in the right section but I've got myself into a really nasty problem and I know how to fix it after spending full 10 hours. Maybe this will help anybody.
I re-used my Arc after a while and learned about custom roms and all. I've updated to Stock 2.3.4 - Stock 4.0.4 - Ultrakitkat 2.0.1 - Stock 4.0.4 (back because of trying to compare performances between custom and stock) - Ultimate HD 5.0.1.
When going from Ultrakitkat to Stock 4.0.4, after a day I woke up and found my phone rebooting Android on a loop while in the wall-charger. Went to take a shower and the phone was dead.
Charger didn't work, put it on my laptop USB and went on, only to find the battery at 100%. When disconnecting the phone, it immediately went blank and didn't turned on. I've looked for this problem for so many hours and tried flashing my romand kernel for some time (including phone drops dead WHILE in flashing) and trying out different way's to connect and boot but nothing worked. Installed many battery tools and apps but still nothing.
I;ve searched a lot and didn't found any conclusion anywhere, but combining every information online I've solved it!!
Apperantly there is an error inbetween roms, that when you go from custom rom + certain kernels, back to stock rom, it stops recognizing the battery.
To solve this (for me it worked):
Flashtool stock TFT 4.0.4
Fastboot flash the LUPUSV16 kernel (the magic trick!)
Turn on phone, and put it on a charger for 15 minutes, it should start recharging somewhere and show the correct battery %
I wanted to use the Ultimate HD just for a try and when flashing (I use Advanced Stock Kernel) + Ultimate HD
DO NOT WIPE BATTERY STATS! This will recreate the problem.
This worked for me and I hope this will help someone too who's thinking there is a problem with the battery.
Mostly reflashing the kernel does the job

yes, it works flashing other kernel but i encountered a another problem. I lost some of the apps and keep geeting crashing report from diferent sistem apps Does some know how to extract those battery fix from those kernel am apllly it to stock kernel?
Ive been having issues with my d800, no matter what rom/kernel i use it randomly reboots i guessing because it over heats because it gets hot and then boot loops, i have to manually power off and let phone cool before powering on again. Also alot of the times i press the power but or double tap to turn the screen on and it doesn't come on, it is illuminated lightly but its still black I rooted using iroot25 and autorec for recovery. The most stable rom I've found was Candykat and i still get a reboot every once in a while but it boots right back up. I've tried re flashing tot/dll with lg flash tools a couple times now that works fine, and rooting works fine. its just about any rom i use it has issues, could this be a hardware issue? Also Ive tried cwm/twrp/philscwm recoveries and that didn't make a difference. i am using d800 roms just to clear that up. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Baseband version- M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190082

CandyKat version- Ck-v1.5.5 Official-20140711
This is my current setup and it seems to work the best, also im not using a kernel tuner right now.
Please ask if you need more info.Ill try to get a logcat if someone can help. im not new to this and it just has me stumped.

Hello, I'm having the exact same issues like you, I have my phone for over a year and started with this problem, I have the last Optimus for the AT&T version, do you find a solution?

Yes, well sort of. I sold the phone and they took it apart and apparently the person I bought it off of, had d800 factory covers and the internals were d802 and it also had an d800 ROM so I didn't know ant different. But I'm not sure if that's your issue or not

Sometime just cooldown the phone by Puting it in a plastig bag and in the freeze sova that.
Thermal don't load properly during boot.
