just got a zenwatch this week and I can't figure how to control my nest with it. I've got the google now integration turned on, and when I tell my phone to "set the temperature to 70 degrees" it changes it, but when I tell my watch it just brings up web results. am I missing something?
nobody has an answer?
could be that the android wear commands aren't being fed to google now on the phone.
if you are on kitkat, try using xposed, google now api and autovoice to send android wear commands to google now on the phone.
latest google now api can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-google-search-api-t2554173/page42
when setting up my home automation system, i could not get voice commands via android wear to trigger events; commands via the phone worked fine. the above is what worked and is why i'm not upgrading to lollipop just yet (no xposed support for ART).
only option right now that i know of to feed android wear commands to google now on the phone on lollipop is via autowear and autovoice. works, but requires a few extra steps (as oppose to just "ok google, close garage door").
thanks, I've got 5.0.1. it just seems odd that there's no integration

I went to Google I/O 2014, and got the LG G watch. I also got an email with links to enable my google account as a tester of a few apps (google play services, and a couple of others) (a requirement to get the watch working immediately.)
Here's part of the emailSpeaking of 'what's next', you may recall that we've secured a watch powered by Android Wear for you to take home. You can choose either the LG G Watch or the Samsung Gear Live. To get the most out of your Android Wear device during Google I/O, follow these instructions to get the latest Google Play services and supporting apps for your devices running Android 4.3 or higher. Starting tomorrow, you'll be able to download the SDK and begin exploring here. Please pick up your watch from the Device Pickup stand on the 1st floor between 7am-5pm tomorrow, June 26.
Everything worked fine, but now I've seen Google Play Services crash on my phone several times over the last week, so I want to get off the beta/test track.
Problem is, the link in the email now just points to regular Wear documentation. Anyone know how I can see the list of apps I'm beta on, and how to change it?
I've googled everything I can think of.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I recently got a Moto 360 as a present. But sadly, I soon came to the realization that you can't run Android Wear without GAPPS installed (I'm running CM10.2). I'm not going to install Google's spyware just so I can use a watch.
Are there other Apps that work with AndroIid Wear Devices? My smartphone does support Bluethooth 4 and BLE. A little bit digging showed me that some dedicated people got some functionality to work on their Iphone without Google Services. Alos when I install the Pebble App it recognzes my phone (but can not connect)
I really just want to get notifications to my watch, control music , set an alarm and maybe get my pulse data on my phone. Are there third party apps that can do that?
The person who ported the Android Wear functionality to Iphone has a Github repository of his Iphone app under shiitakeo/android_wear_for_ios . If there is no option I will have to write my own app and I'm going to orient myself on what he did there.
So you are looking for an app to connect your android phone to the iOS wear connect app on moto360? And not android wear app?
I'm looking for a third party android app that lets me connect my Moto 360 with my Phone aCyanogenmod 10.2 without gapps installed.
Without gapps I can't install the offical Android Wear app. Taking a peak in the IOS world shows me that it' s possible to do that with a device that supports Bluethooth 4.0 and BLE. The Pebbles app also recognizes my watch but does not let me connect it, this tells me that they must use a similiar protocol or maybe even the same. My question is, if someebody already did write such an App, that lets you connect your Android phone with your smart watch (without installing gapps!), or if I have to do this on my own. (I'm a software developer but never did anything with Bluethooth or much in Android.)
I'd also like to find a non-gapps solution for this. Have you found one?
Apple spies for Facebook. You'll sell your integrity no matter what.
I have an android wear watch, huawei watch, is there a way to get commands taken by google now on the watch passed to your phone? On my phone i can use google now voice commands to change the temperature on my nest thermostat, when I try the same command on my watch I just get google search results. I also have multiple tasker tasks set to run from google now commands, through auto voice. is there a way to use those same commands on my watch, have it pass the command to my phone, and have my phone run the task?
Thanks in advance!
I don't really like GMS, it is battery consuming and my device runs faster without it. But the problem is Android Wear client requires GMS. And the 'this app will run without Google Play Services' xposed hack doesn't work. I know there is possibilities to run Android Wear without GMS, Android Wear for China doesn't require one. But it doesn't pair with my watch saying incompatible software. So as described above, any ideas? Thanks.
Hi all,
I needed to do a reinstall of my phone in order to clean up data. (don't worry, this is indeef about Android Wear).
I couldn't set my watch up and it is syncing with my phone. However, the Android Wear app is insisting that I do not have a sufficiently updated Google App.
It is wrong as I even tried a Google App with a release date of 16-Jan-2018 from Apk Mirror, and yet the Wear app still gives this error in the screenshot, even after reboot.
I mean generally it's okay not to use Android Wear, but, that app has some functionality that I need. (eg Screenshot, Bluetooth Debugging from my phone needs to be enabled from that app, etc).
Anyone know what is up with this?
