I have read from other forums of devices that use armv6 that it's possible if ART runtime is compiled on ARMv6 architecture. If it is ever done, will Galaxy Y have the requirements to run Lollipop / CM12?

Who knows - at this moment in time no bootable version has been made
No point in creating threads for this - you can see any progress yourself on the Android for armv6 website

Hi all, Sailfish OS is out:
https://sailfishos.org/
It is a new fully open source OS based on Meego and Mer.
It would be fantastic if someone could start to port that OS to Xperia phones..I've asked to JollaHQ first to know if it could be possible and they told me that is possible! But sadly I don't have the knowledge to do that do someone have the required knowledge? Consider that Sailfish OS can run almost all android apps at full speed, so no problem about this.
Here's a little demo:

I have an Xperia Mini Pro SK17i and I won't be only a tester, I want also to study and learn how to port an OS to a phone by looking at an expert developer.

Same here really wish someone would port it to our phones
Hello ! Please tell me if
Your XPERIA phone can have an unlocked bootloader or boot from SD
What is their GPU and if there is drivers for them
No much Android phones will get the port at first I think, due to the lack of drivers
I have an Xperia Mini Pro and yes, I have a unlocked bootloader don't know if it could boot from sd but I don't see any problem about (I had an N900 before and I had the possibility to boot between Maemo and Android)
About the GPU is a Adreno 205

Well, having an unlocked bootloader do not mean it can boot other OS than Android. Well, it should, but I'm rather a noob with Android.
About your GPU, there is http://freedreno.github.com/ so well, there is hope.
Any hope for the xperia u?
Sorry for off topic.
It has unlocked bootloader.
It doesn't have an sdcard slot so Idk about boot from sd.
The GPU is Mali 400.

Hello,
I would be interested on running Sailfish on my Xperia Pro.
I could also test development images, and would probably also donate to help
Cheers.

I know that there are a lot of threads for compiling cm for many other phones but are there any dev available to make a guide for our beloved S4 i9500. The more people compiling cm for this device would be better and possibility of more bug fixes if we learn enough to do that. Been reading up a lot on this but was still wondering if a build guide can be posted please.

asking for a 'best' of or 'bugless' something is against xda rules
please look in the dev section
all kernel features are listed on the op
to change kernel simple download it and follow the instructions on the op
in most cases its
go into cwm recovery
mount system
flash zip
restart
I would start by reading the following kernel threads
For Galay Y Duos
[ROM][KERNEL] XDuosV3 2.0 for Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102[STABLE]new release version!!!
For Galaxy Y PRO Duos Device
[5-5-2013][KERNEL][GT-B5512] Compact V 1.3 for Samsung Galaxy Y PRO DUOS
in feature please do not go please tell me best this or bugless that and read the threads to avoid breaking xda rules

they all use the same samsung stock source code for custom kernels so there isnt really a latest as such - the thread date is just the date that custom kernel was built/uploaded
if you want the latest stock build of kernel flash the latest stock rom firmware for your region via odin - search sammfirware for firmware but you will need to use splitfus2 to split it to flash via odin
however custom kernels have more features such as ext4 support and more freqencies/govs - all these are listed on the op of the kernel thread
I use a kernel (not for duos) that was built ages ago but it works and does what I want so why change

1.Don't compare Micromax from SGY.They both have different hardware specs.
2.Yes!

dont think you quite understand what a kernel is/does - changing your kernel wont make games play any better to the extent you can play hd games
you cant play candy crush on galaxy y because it requires an armv7 processor as do most games with hd graphics - galaxy y is armv6
If you want to play games the only option is to get a better phone

a kernel wont make your phone look any better - its for battery performance and smoothness and running of the rom - visually there is no difference
I think you have a kernel confused with something else
if you want to change how the phone looks - eg different status bar and icons and so on you want to flash a custom rom

its a rom and a custom kernel - if you like the look of it and it has features you require then use it by following the instruction on the op
it will not however allow you to play candy crush if thats what you are hoping for as iv already said the galaxy y is only armv6 and you need an armv7 processor

should do although you might want to update your stock firmware first or use the one the rom is based on - see op of rom thread for details
the only way to know it to try it

I was thinking about Cyanogenmod 11 for Galaxy Y. I know it hasn't been possible because lack of source code but now when the source has been released, is this possible?

Let me clear your concept.
Even if source is available, CM11 cannot be made stable. (like Wi-Fi, BT, 2G, 3G, Audio do not work)
Because Broadcom does not give required drivers i.e. libraries.
No way! We don't even have stable CyanogenMod 10.
Broadcom is not giving drivers.
They gave drivers after 1.5 years and now we have CM9. CM11 is long way............
Also Galaxy y has separate forum. Post your questions and things there.

Hello everyone,
I am currently working with @adfree on getting a port of android wear on the tizen ecosystem. We are currently looking to root the device, we have engineering roms and i think it will be not long before we will have a root on the device. PS: we are able to downgrade sboot on Tizen Gear S2 watch thanks to adree for his hard work.
I am currently researching on how to make a custom kernel i.e android wear kernel for the watch. The gear s3 has an exynos chipset and there is an android wear kernel available on the exynos chipset here: https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/exynos/
I have tried to contact developers from previous tizen development threads but it all went in vain. I have not heard from anyone. If someone has more knowledge or atleast put me in the right direction on how to make changes to the kernel or add configs from tizen kernel source to android kernel. I have both the sources downloaded. Android opensource for the exynos and opensource for the watch.
Please. Thanks.
It would be very helpfull.
If somebody could check if files and instructions are complete to build Kernel successfully.
Open Source for Gear S3
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=SM-R760
And if somebody want help me... Gear S2 related:
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=SM-R732
1 visible difference...
Gear S2 use filename:
Code:
zImage
Gear S3 has:
Code:
[COLOR="Red"][B]d[/B][/COLOR]zImage
If we have compiled Kernel from these Samsung Sources... we could test/confirm if Security allows custom Kernel.
Thanx in advance.
Best Regards
