4.16.401.10 maximus.
Sound OFF/Wibrate OFF: Messenger works as intended
Sound OFF/Wibrate ON: Messenger works as intended
Sound ON: Messenger freezes.
Also: turning of application sounds (in messenger settings) solves the problem just as if you have it on wibrate/sound off.
Conclusion: Sounds in messenger (sound of sending, recieving etc) makes the software freeze.

Thanks for testing! Weird that the bug only occurs on HTC Lollipop builds.

I'm on 5.0.1 Lollipop and software version 4.19.61.2
I've not encountered any issues with Facebook Messenger.

@chriz_c81 - could you at least provide feedback in the required format? I've had many people say they have no issues with Messenger until they tested it for me.

I didn't encountered any freezes with the last beta version 20.0.0.19.13. I'm on 4.16.401.10. I had problems with earlier versions of messenger but with this i don't have any, yet...
Edit: A new version of Fb Messenger is out guys v21.0.0.1.13

4.16.401.10
Sound OFF/Vibrate OFF: Messenger works
Sound OFF/Vibrate ON: Messenger works
Sound ON: Messenger freezes for 4-5 sec after each send message
Messenger version: 19.0.0.19.42

EDIT: I forgot I turned in-app sounds off. Same issue on newest beta (21.0.0.1.13).

Yes, same for me 21.0.0.1.13 same issue.

Just wipe cache partition. All problems solved...
I had no problems, except for the Music player, my friend had problems with Messenger. After wiping the cache partition, everything works like a charm.

@Niiceg - thanks for your input.
I just wiped cache using these commands in recovery (commands taken from lyapota):
Code:
rm -r /data/dalvik-cache
rm -r /data/resource-cache
No change. Messenger still freezes.

I did these steps, they helped. I don't know why they wouldn't help:
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Down key.
Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
Continue holding the Volume Down.
Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.
Press the Volume Down key once to move the cursor from FASTBOOT to RECOVERY.
Press the Power key to begin the wipe.
The device displays the bootup screen followed by a phone with a red triangle.
Press the Up Volume key and Power key at the same time.
Press the Down Volume key three times to select Wipe cache partition.
Press the Power key to initiate the wipe.
Wait until the phone displays Cache wipe complete.
Press the Power key to select Reboot system now.

@Niiceg - Have you tried using Messenger? If you are on 4.16.401.x or 4.16.1540.x then I guarantee you have the issue. Try the steps from 1st post to check and post results.

[03 JAN]Rajko's CM 6.1[RMNET]

Almost stock CM6.1 with some usability apps
Kernel from latest git standard
Download: Link removed pending warez removal from ROM
This is the way to customize an official build to a hd2 nand build
No hackery, no tricks, the way its meant to be done
You can extract it alongside CM 6.1 for desire and do a folder diff to see how to adapt a desire ROM for the HD2
Basically what i used since 03. Oct for testing Magldr, continuously updated when a new CM release is out
Readme:
Code:
Rajko's CM 6.1 NAND ROM for HTC HD2
===========================
Based on CM 6.1 official stable for the HTC Desire.
This is a continuation of the NAND ROM i was making for earlier MAGLDR builds.
Very close to CM 6.1 stock, but added additional applications for convenience, these are:
- Wifi Manager
- Quadrant Benchmark Advanced
- TasKiller
- Network Speed
- Current Widget
- Market Enabler
All applications should be up to date as of 03.01.2010.
1. Installation
===============
MAGLDR 1.10 or newer is required on the device.
Before starting the installation process, enter "USB Flasher" mode on the device
by using the Volume rocker switch to select items and the green "Call" button as the Enter key.
2. Known issues
==============
Magnetometer left/right doesn't seem to be working. Don't know what broke this. Investigating.
Due to old QDSP, camera is still the stock 800x480 of HD2.
3. Post installation notes
==============
You can change the kernel to a newer/custom version by doing the following:
Connect via USB to your HD2 while Android is running.
Spawn an ADB shell
Do the following commands as superuser:
mkdir /tmp/boot
mount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock0 /tmp/boot
After that, you can replace the zImage that's located in /tmp/boot
When you're done, you have to unmount the boot partition, like so:
umount /tmp/boot
Restart your device to use the new kernel.
well done Rajko, will try your build.
thanks!
please Screenshot Thanks
great! will try!
Oh, first one build for Jan 3
Downloading ....
I have try a bit.
Very fast build indeed
230 mb free storage
Mobile data ok
Wifi ok
Just see until now a issue, the phone dial, dont like i typing the numbers very fast, if i do that the dial freeze for a second and the call slow to start.
Aparte of that i like the build and Tomorrow will test more this baby.
awesome..will test it
but umm..hush..hush..you might wanna take out quadrant advance =P
the normal quadrant is useless because the cpu score varies so much, so the total score isnt really indicative of anything
with advanced people can compare the individual scores, the ones that matter like IO and 2D/3D
does this kernel include WiFi fix (dynamic mac address). what governer does it use?. What about after call 60mA issue?
just FYI, if you put quadrant advanced, the mods will remove links.
it's commit 4c31f2fb265ae68b82ed5e8ea4bec91208837011 so yes
60mA is because of too recent toolchain, that was never a problem with this as i used 2010q1 since forever
60mA may happen if GPS is on, turn it off using the power control widget when you don't need it
camcorder force close
anyone else having random force closes when running camcorder? camera itself runs ok when taking pictures though...
aside from above issue, the nand/build is running great
Also,
i seem to have forgotten how to enable volume control (when playing music) even when the screen is locked/turned off? I can't find it under cyanogenmod settings
thanks

Step 3 is for changing the kernel. This step is not required unless you are swapping kernels.
Upload is awfully slow compared to other nand build....I was getting avg of 1.5mbps.....with this build I get 400kbps...

DISCONTINUED - [ROM][25-feb-11][v1.3] Dexter's Froyo 2.2.1 for XT720

so here is the new edition with uk kernel, basically pretty much the same as before with correct sensor drivers now.
Changelog v1.3 (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid image here or mirror
- xavwanted's libOMX and MediaGallery.apk which seems to fix HD recording and playback
- Riley600's interactive governor fix
- callwaiting fix
- kousik's mount-o typo fix
- Mioze7Ae move /oc to /system/oc
- bootanim by helmi666
- Email.apk replacement
Changelog v1.2b (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download patch here
- fixes problems with callwaiting functionality.
Changelog v1.2a (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid image here
- 720P recording fix
- re-added old MediaGallery as Camera app requires it.
- there can be possible hickups with mediascanning (so you know)If you do see many FC's its a symptom of not having done factory reset, so this should indicate whether you need to do it or not.
Changelog v1.2 (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid image here
- fixed mediascanner issue
- removed old mediagallery (not supported) , now only Gallery3D available.
- removed VoiceCommands app, cpu intensive and taking much storage.
Note, due to the bug in mediascanner and decoding and on top ext2sd support, quadrant benchmarks drastically drops when ext2 is enabled, if the sdcard is not a class6 or higher.. but media decoding bug alone caused incorrect reportings, so dont be surprised when you test now.
Its a full nandroid for new and existing users. if you're using 1.1+ you do not need to WIPE settings, just restore nandroid and reboot, signatures will be recalculated and bootup takes maybe little more, but it works fine.
Patch update Changelog v1.1b (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download patch here
- HDMI added to settings menu, let me know how it works (not tested)
- different proximity sensor module (tested with z-devicetester seems better)
- facebook fix still included.
- Support for loading overclock module at startup.
- apps2ext partition support , will mount at startup if a 2nd partition is found.
its not advanced, so you need ext2/ext3 partition for now.
NOTE: Patches goes into /OpenRecovery/updates and is applied in openrecovery menu "apply update".
Changelog v1.1a (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid v1.1a link
- Based on 2.2.1 milestone framework leak
- Sync facebook is working
- Lockscreen is new (Blur like)
- see this link for framework theme's.
Changelog v1.1 (Android v2.2 edition) Download v1.1 link
- fixed: OCR camera function currently FC (crash) (Mobireader.apk added)
- fixed: Contacts apk will be replaced in next update.
- fixed: HDMI through media player
- fixed: /mnt/sdcard mount issue
If you want stock korean 2.2 with just english language and working sensors, download this nandroid dump, if you will probably need the 1.1 including recovery.apk to install this the easy way.
but else follow instructions in my other releases, and put nandroid backup into the /nandroid/openrecovery folder and restore using OpenRecovery.
See this post, if you wish to restore a stock rom, or to enable apps2sd filesystem on sdcard
Install instructions:
Make sure sdcard is visible, when you get to step 6 of instructions, or it all fails, same with restore..
A: users with stock 2.1 can proceed to step 1 in instructions.
B: users with stock SBF korean 2.2 rom , need to flash stock 2.1 and goto step 1
C: Users with 1.1+ of rom with OpenRecovery , can skip WIPE and factory reset, and a restore of the new nandroid backup included in the download link, and goto step 8 (and skip step 9 for factory reset)
root it (SuperOneClick ) - included with zip
install OpenRecovery , use included apk.
reboot phone once
copy the folder "nandroid" to root directory of your sdcard.
Make sure sdcard is not attached to pc using "mass storage share" to pc.
Run OpenRecovery app and "install Recovery".
Press Boot recovery
restore the backup "stock22xxxx"
wipe / factory reset in OpenRecovery
reboot
Issues reported by users in v1.2a:
- Radio FM volume cannot change.
- MediaGallery does not do videoplayback
Issues reported by users in v1.0:
- Radio FM volume cannot change.
- Sync account option for facebook / Twitter is not added in settings when account is configured.
- Camera language not going to change (its korean app, so not support for other langs)
- LEDS do work, its sensors that makes them go off/on (no need to report this anymore)
STATEMENT:
Please don't keep asking the following question directed to me, public or via PM;
- Can you include language XXXXXXXX .
Answer: NO
- Can you teach me how to do custom roms
Answer: NO
- will you include RTL for hebrew
Answer: NO
- will you make other roms like cyanogen, htc etc..
Answer: NO
for new users unable to write in public forums, i cannot answer all your PM's personally, as that gets to be a quite a few per day and many monthly...i am not a support central for xt720 community..i simply don't have that kind of time available.
Dexter_nlb said:
if i press camera button here (1-2 sec) it opens?
media button (the small one becide the cam button?) ? yes i see its not doing any action
from what i read now, the known accelerator driver issue + led, hdmi is 2 majors, im not sure about other issues becides the extra languages which for some seem to cause issue..
the way the launcher works is a matter of taste (seeing like 20+ android devices)
- if you're coming from stock 2.1 there is differences and more functions, but if you tweaked alot maybe less features are here, like dalvik.
- rotation is a problem if you plan alot of games with acc. functionality..
- I personally dont experience problems, except the buttons which personally i would love to fix now..
I think overall there is a positive feel about the first working release.

In the facebook app if you tap on "Facebook" at the top you go to the page to navigate to news feeds, friends, etc. If you hit your options button there there is a settings screen that includes preferences for how contacts are sync'd.

I think smurfb deserve a little thanks, for pushing the request/idea just to try loading the old uk kernel once more, so i did and this time i fixed the problems with loading the old kernel and lib/bin required, its not much and most (2.2) korean state is kept intact..
ill do some testing after the new nandroid backup and start uploading v1.0

yes, 3d is fully functional now. I dont think it will work, but i will find a way to add the functionality..
the korean rom has only english, which im sure not many appreciate, although camera as one is used from that rom so only english is enabled.

I got FMRadio app added, does it help?
Thank you so much for making this, Dexter. We are hungry of froyo, asking for more. But you deserve to take a break

I will install it soon. can someone upload a video of it?

I have htc hd2, but my home and back buttons does not work.
Is there any program that can change menu button to home button?
p.s anyone knows why doesnt work? i have change the keybord... but this buttuns still dont work? anyone?
Use button savior from the market...it won't change button mapping, however it gives you onscreen buttons..
There's an app in the market that changes hardware keys but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me... Go try soft keys (in the market) though it'll give you home, menu and other buttons on your screen

I have downloaded the ROM from original site and flashed as per your recommendations in STALLION thread. It's great. I have some queries.
1. There were five patches whereas you have given seven.
2. How do you lock the screen? Is it only to be locked with POWER button. I use third party screen lock app tied up with long press search button which is not working here as this function is tagged with camera. Any alternative for screen lock?

1. Sorry, i made a mistake, there are only 6 of them, not 7. I dont know why u have only 5, and it doesnt realy matter.
2. I dont use any buttons to lock, screen timeout locks itself, or i use power button, but if u want, u can use search button, by doing this:
System Settings>System>Button>MI button>Trigger Toggle>Lock

I installed this rom yesterday from the chinese sources, you don't need all the 6 patches. There are 5 update patches and the 6th is the one you need, this is the final patch that includes ALL the other ones (20130101_U8800Pro-MIUI2.3.7 by FCS fix 20130104-12_update.zip)
to OP:There are 4 other files that came with the rom and i don't see them in the post. They are Sakura's Atmel screen fix, geno's gapps, flash player for this rom and the new miui compass that was not included in the original rom.If you don't have them tell me to upload them
If you want to put power button to search button go with root explorer to system/usr/keylayout open qwerty.kl with text editor, find key 217 and change it from ''CAMERA'' to ''POWER' and in the same line from ''WAKE DROPPED'' to ''WAKE'' .Save and reboot. Now pressing the search button closes the screen, long pressing it brings up the power menu.
People this is the best MIUI so far and the latest one with final release date 14/1/2013,Everything works. This is a special rom started by Geno, then Hay modded it,then Ry09iu modded it farther and lastly Sakura combined the mods of all of them together with his own and released this amazing rom.you got to try it

No worries about ram unless you have 200apps installed like all roms
installation:
be sure you are on official gingerbread or gb based custom rom.
boot into recovery,reboot recovery
wipe data/factory
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
wipe battery stats
format system
reboot into recovery
Do the same wipes again for a second time

reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install atmel fix zip (if you are on atmel)
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install geno's gapps
reboot normally play a bit with the new rom
reboot normally again
THIS IS THE BEST WAY
You also need to replace some chinese system apps with the english ones,i will upload them later with instructions
and also replace some files like hosts, gps etc.i will upload them too.
please OP add these to the first post because there will be confusion!

To korekore.
Great post. Very supportive.
I agree to you with first point. Five patches replaced by one single patch and I am using the same.
I will surely try your method OF search key lock /power button. I will surely try that.
Lately there are four more files of which I am using the gapps lite. My touch screen send to be working ok and I have not flashed the atmel kernel mod. BTW how to know whether I have a ATMEL or SYNAPTICS hardware?
Lastly waiting for Your English version apks.
Great ROM. Dream of similar JB ROM.
Thank you.

On your phone dialer you dial *#*#2846579#*#*
A menu will appear, then you go to project menu->upgrade->touchscreen firmware upgrade->touch screen version query and it will show you if it is ATMEL or SYNAPTICS.
Be aware however that this menu does not appear on all custom roms. For example in CM7 if you try it, nothing will happen.
For what is this FIX?
For me the 4 button does not lighting

That fix improves speed, stability, adds V6 SuperCharger script, improves power saving, etc.
No button backligt is not a bug, but you can "fix" it by doing this:
Download any root exploring app, go to sys>class>leds>button-backlight> edit it like text, and write 255>save it

Yes,I tried it too on MIUI but like CM7 it doesnt work in these roms. It works on official/stock rom 100%, i checked it on my official rom before installing this MIUI.
If you have a recovery backup of the stock/official rom you can restore the official rom and try it there, it will work there 100%.
Which kernel to b flashed for this Rom?

if anyone use it let's tell us if this rom is for one day or for often use and someone please post screenshots
korekore1 can you upload the four files you were talking about before and the final patch?
Thank you.

[ROM][4.4.4] Vanir - resurrection [security update]

Trying to keep Vanir up-to-date for our otherwise dead phone . Fix minor bugs, add minor features, a bit of compiler optimization.
I'm not updating the whole rom here! Development of branch cm-11.0 for both Vanir and CyanogenMod has stopped, so there won't be any surprises here!
Bugs:
- adb over usb doesn't work in android (but works over wifi and in recovery it works normally, so no problem)
- clear notifications icon missing when switching from quicksettings
- call recording doesn't work
- synapse doesn't work
ART:
Apart from 2 inconveniences, ART works and is fast
- optizing one app on reboot - it's a bit annoying, but otherwise harmless (happens only sometimes)
- immediately after switching to ART phone won't sleep (power button doesn't work. Just leave it for a while (15-30 minutes) and let it settle - once the screen turns of by itself, everything wil be normal
Deep sleep issue (if exists):
Check using Better Battery Stats or any tool of your choice. If it is caused by Google Play Services, simply deny them wakelock priviledge: Go to Settings/Security/Privacy Guard/Google Play Services and set Keep awake -> denied. It won't hurt sync, no worries.
Feature requests:
- Smart Pulldown from Omnirom Done
- NonIntrusive incoming call screen (@force)

Hi!
New experimental build. It is _fast_ Added more optimization flags from ArchiDroid. It still has the location FC issue though, so if it's a problem for you, stay with stable.
Enjoy

@mkaluza i'm having a weird bug with the last stable build, i want to install two apps as system apps (cm file manager since this rom dowsn't have one and novathor settings because of power and volume options) but everytime i try to install them, after rebooting the phone works for 30seconds, then freezes and reboots and it becomes unusable. any idea about why?
I have a problem with hotspot shield vpn
It won't start
And says
Af openvpn inti. Faild
I tried other vpn apps but they don't work

Yes, load tun module. Either via KoControl app or from terminal: su and then "modprobe tun"

NT settings are old and mess with the kernel. Besides it's a ROM app, so you can't just take any version - it had to be built with the ROM. I don't support it.
Attached cm file manager to post 1 - try it (just drop it to /system/app as it doesn't seem to install the normal way)
@TheSteve87 what exactly do you need from nt app? Maybe I'll be able to add it into synapse.

i mainly use two settings, the battery voltage (?) control to have a faster charge and the audio gain options to higher the earbuds/speakers' volume
btw novathor settings are not that old, i actually extracted the apk from epirex's latest cm11 build and pushed it to /system on your vanir with no issues at all at least on the build before the beta version

Yeah... I can see this ramdisk stuff causes a bit of trouble. I already have an idea for 'smart' installer, that will autodetect system version and install correct ramdisk for the user.

And it'll only get better I almost nailed the correct compiler flags, so the next stable version will have the speed of beta (or more ), but of course without the NetworkLocationService bug.

Hi, my friend.
I've seen a known bug in CM11 derivated roms like this one. This is related to systemupdate service, the rom tryies to connect to cm software update but couldn't and causes a lot of aware.
I made this script and ran it at every boot
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
pm disable com.google.android.gms/.update.SystemUpdateService
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateActivity
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver

pm disable com.google.android.gsf/com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
pm disable com.google.android.gsf/com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver
It make the system wake ups almost dissapear. You could try to put it in your code if you think is correct.
