I've been working with the Kernel's Displaylink (udlfb) driver for a few days now. After some trouble I was able to get initial support for the legacy 2.0 USB devices working. Lucky, this early work was possible due to a few earlier projects. I had to work out a few power issues as our chosen device does not have enough power to run the display with out being chained to a powered hub.
So, currently I have an active framebuffer /dev/graphics/fb13 which I can push static frames to, but the display stack for the OS is not aware of the devices existence and so it can not be used with any of the API calls. I am looking for documentation or help on where to start. From reading the source pages on android.com I believe the extensions to the framebuffer need to be done in the Display HAL, but I'm not even sure where in the source tree those files exist. Its also possible that the display driver itself needs to be extended to report itself as an available display. If anyone has any insight I would be very grateful.
Link up and running.

Hello All,
I am currently looking for Android tablet owners to help me test my new utility, simpleON.
simpleON is a utility for your Android tablet that enables it to turn on using the hardware light sensor. If you have a case for your device this is a must have app. Immediately after opening the cover or removing the device from a case the screen will power on. You may also choose to automatically unlock the screen lock as well.
PLEASE NOTE:
simpleON uses the light sensors on your device, so this utility will only work in a lit room. It also requires low leveling monitoring of the sensors all the time, and this may affect your battery.

I think it's an awesome tool. I've got the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I'm really interested in testing this utility.
Looks really promising! I will test it
Any progress?

Hello, so I was bored that other day, and decided to make a little PC application that allows you to monitor your android battery levels when you have your phone/tablet plugged in, nothing fancy. Also, you can set up specialized alerts. It's still in beta, but almost everything should be working, let me know if you have any problems, or if you have anything you would like me to throw in

Setup: Beta Version
Extract the zip and run Android Battery it will be the .exe. You may need Net framework 4.5 installed to run this. Download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/net/download
If the drivers for your device are not installed, then the program won't recognize it.
Download Attached ZIp Below
I might update this with more stuff
can you do it over the air? like an app like sms2pc where you can send and read sms with your pc with a program installed on desktop and an app on your device?
I needed to install some stuff after I flashed my rom, so I quickly wrote up this tool.
You can throw whatever APK files into it, and connect your phone with debugging enabled, hit install and It'll install all the applications in the list.
Currently, this is just a prototype, but it will eventually get better, and I will add more features. For now, It should work for just a simple batch install.
If you have any problems, just shoot me a PM. Otherwise, I think this should be dead simple to use. If you have any suggestions for what I could add, Post it here.
Oh, and, If you wouldn't mind, Shooting me some donations will ensure you'll get more of this stuff!

So I flashed CM11 M8 on my tablet. I've been running CM11 M8 on my phone for a while now. In the display section of the settings on my phone, there is a color calibration option.

My Nexus is very badly in need of color calibration, but the color calibration option is nowhere to be found in the same menu!
I tried to Google this issue but it doesn't seem like anyone is having troubles with a missing color calibration option. Can someone please help? Did I flash a bad ROM?
This problem is affecting nobody else?
?????
Really?
It depends on the hardware, my Moto G supports color calibration as well, but the 2012 Nexus 7 doesn't (as of now), so there's no such option available.
Basic Functionality
It is truly unfortunate that Nvidia has not provided enough documentation for someone to figure this out by now. There should be a hardware level interface provided to do this for accessibility reasons. I imagine that the gamma could be adjusted at a software level before being put to the framebuffer. This would require a well engineered modification to surfaceflinger, but the result would provide color correction regardless of device.
UM4 is the first Brand Ugoos device running under Android Nougat 7.1.2. Nougat brings new feelings in TV Box usage. New settings menu – combination of TV settings and standard phone settings looks fresh and more user-friendly for both Remote Controllers and mouse pointers. New animation looks up-to-date, smooth and have good reaction on RC actions.

Combination of 4K resolution, H.265, H.264 and VP9 codecs and HDR function make device a reliable all-format media center at home or small office.
As before, all Ugoos devices have a row of special functions on board, and UM4 is not exclusion:
Root feature from the box
File server (Samba)
Hardware performance Monitor
Wireless Assistant (Fireasy)
Gamepad Settings
Debug Settings
Screen rotation options
Autoframerate switcher
