I have a sandisk USB thumb drive going to a USB OTG cable to my Note 3, and it works fine. However, When I boot to TWRP it doesn't work. The USB OTG option isn't there, and if I click on the 'USB' option the box next to it remains unchecked. I am on the latest version of TWRP, and running CM11.
Any ideas would be great.
I am on 2.8.3 and it's still not an option in TWRP. I just watched a video of a note3 with TWRP 2.6. and the guy selects USB otg no problem. Any help would be awesome.
You must use adb to access that feature. Sideload.

Well, I looked into ADB sideload, and flashed CM12 with my Mac, which is definitely cool. Thanks!
But I am no closer to just plugging in a usb otg drive and having TWRP recognize it. Everything I see with ADB Sideload concerns using a PC - nothing with an otg drive.
I am using twrp 2.8.4.0 i don't understand why can't you use it?

That last picture, Select partitions to Mount, I click USB Storage, and instead of the box getting a 'X' in there, it remains unchecked. The Sandisk Cruzer blinks a little bit, but nothing

I can't seem to get passed this point flashing the modified firmware after using URDLV, I have been able to successfully flash the stock firmware file though.
Things I've tried/taken into consideration:
OEM USB Cable
Freshly installed USB drivers
All Kies processes closed
USB Debugging enabled.
Multiple copies of the firmware downloaded and tried from different locations.
Tried on another PC
Anyone have any suggestions on a fix for this?
I notice that the new tar.md5 file is different on the inside, wonder if it is related to your failure.

I had someone pass me the following files to suit my AP/CSC
N9005XXUBMI7_VEGA.tar.md5
N9005TELBMI2_CSC.tar.md5
Using these files fixed it for me, you'll need to find the ones to suit your phone though.

Get an OTG cable and connect a thumb drive or micro so card reader directly to your phone.
Mount the drive in twrp and flash a rom from the drive.

Just guessing but the reason some of the roms did not flash may be down to the twrp version you are using. Make sure you are on the latest, and if not, flash it.
Wifi issue is probably baseband - do you have the correct one.?

Yes
It's really strange... Have you unlocked the bootloader?
Yes " Device State - Unlocked "
It's due to the filename being too long. I found a different fastboot which allowed long filenames. Rename it to one letter like r.img or something and see if it works.
Had exact the same problem under Linux
People mention to change to another USB port but that did not help
What helped... if all stuff is correctly installed (adb, root rights, etc.)
1. Reboot into the bootloader (even if you are in already)
adb reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
2. Then directly (use the arrow up key to really be fast enough) send the command for flashing (my file was called twrp.img)
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Click to collapse
If this doesn't work you could try (under Linux) to write a little script with just the two above commands or try
adb reboot bootloader && fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Click to collapse
It seems to be a timing problem... One might need to play around with the time between this two commands. E.g. wait until the bootloader screen is on the phone and directly issue the flash command. Sorry after it worked for me I did not bother to investigate it in more detail.

Enabled USB debugging is not required for sideloading in recovery mode. That would render the whole recovery functionality useless. I just checked it.
Make sure your USB port and cable are okay, maybe use another. Some hubs don't work with ADB.
Also check your drivers. Uninstall and reinstall the official or universal ADB driver. You should notice when the device is detected.
Attention: Only sideload the system version you're on or higher. Downgrading could brick your tablet.
