Hey guys, need some help... My mother owns an G2, in phone info and on the back it says that it's D802 but when I checked the IMEI number on http://imei.info it says that the phone is D800. How can I know which model is it exactly? Have to know because I'm going to take that phone and use it...
Wouldn't want to brick it since I'm a flashoholic

Tried to look up for the sw update on the LG Firmware site with the IMEI, it sayd "invalid IMEI"...
Nah just check the phone model number in setting -> about. then youre good. I had D802T and i ran imei checked it obviously wrong. It says mine is D800 and is 32Gb version but in fact mine is 16Gb. And yes i take out the cover it says D805. I guess some part could fit on each other.
Just wached some g2 teardown clips on youtube... One of them had all different parts, speaker from d805, motherboard from d800, and the model was d802! The last one I watched was made by a Russian dude, everything was from d802 but when he removed the ribbon, I look at the motherboard, poof! D801! This can be a big problem because if you need to flash your phone with a KDZ, in case you have a different motherboard, you will surely brick your device! This is the moment when I don't know what to do... :-\

Then the answer is obvious. You need to check your motherboard model and that is your reference. If speaker and battery or even backcover from different part i think it no problem though. I just opened again my phone and my phone frame says "D801/803". But until now i just flash rom for D802 variant and everything gone well.

HELP! plz i am very stretfull
Wait, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but this phone was flashed with a LS980 ROM using flash tool, and in download mode says that is a D805... I mean, you are trying to flash the wrong ROM using flash tool, looks to me...
Aren't not different phones? (LS980 Sprint, D805 Latin American)
Try flash kdz firmware Becase TOT method try to fild properties in build.prop "ro.product.model" the model is wrong.
First, this is a dev forum. U cannot ask questions in here. There is a freaking Q&A topic in General forum.
Second, Your phone is a god damn d805. So find a d805 stock rom to flash.
Third, please close the topic.
I've heard about this this problem from few people.
Apparently, you can't burn kdz when you got CloudyG3. you need first to go back to one that is based on stock. like CloudyStock or something.
another method: Someone said that he let LG PC-SUITE to identify the model and download the correct Rom, and everything went fine.

You can go here

and ask he (admin) about step by step for solve this problem ( i think he is know every think about G2 problem )
Friend of mine brought me his new LG G2 to flash custom rom (CloudyG2 in particular).
Since I was owner of LG G2 and did the thing several times, I thought that would be piece of cake like always.
I checked the software version it was 4.4.2 - fine. I checked the model - D802 - fine too.
I rooted it with iroot, it went fine.
After that custom recovery was next using the AutoRec.
After the reboot I got this:

When the phone is pluged to PC in this state its detected as fastboot device (Marshall London Bootloader Interface).
Also, that is strange that the back of the device is not the same as on my LG G2 D802.
The LG logo is not printed, it's something like 3D metal.
The ring around the camera is reflective like mirror.
And the text on the bottom is in Chinese characters.
Anybody has idea which model is that and what I did wrong?
I know how to retrieve the LG G2 from fastboot softbrick, but I'm honestly not sure if this is really D802 and therefore don't know which firmware to flash.
My D802 says 'Made in Korea', that one says 'Made in China'. Did LG ever have G2's made in China? Could be a fake?

With info I provided this is first thing that comes to mind, but I spent about 10 minutes with it before I bricked it, and I can confirm that it is not fake. I know this phone. Maybe it's just some unusual variant or subariant

your phone is original, what it isnt is the baack cover..
and am pretty sure you got a refurbished phone.. read the links i give you..
the only way to tell what variant is by looking THE MOTHER BOARD ONLY. dont go by the other parts, whatever the MB says thats your variant ive seen alot of this and program says its d802 and mother board is d800 or ls980..

Hello
Recently i bought LG G2 D802 ( Refurbished ).. The seller confirmed that its the D802 international version... first thing i did was to upgrade the rom to the Lollipop via official LG Firmware update tool.... Update was successful except touch not working properly...i am using a mouse via OTG ..... even tried to downgrade to KK stock firmware but touch problem still there....I tried update touch firmware in the hidden service menu...
Pls i need your help in
1. Identify the model by looking on the picture attached...
2. How can i install d800 rom ? because LG Flash tool show error of model mismatch
3. Can i only flash / update the touch rom ?

From your photo there, it seems to be marked as a D801, which would, of course be the T-Mobile variant of the G2. Going into Settings / General / Hardware shows the model number, but I'm not enough of an expert to know if that is read from the phone's firmware (what you flashed) or the phone's hardware.
There's a Playstore app that says it will give that information:
"My Android app will help you to know the following:
[snipped stuff]
11. Manufacturer and Model number of the device.
So look on the playstore for the app, install & run. Hopefully that reads directly from the hardware.

I had the same thing happen to me several times. Follow the instructions for AT&T LG G2 and use LGUP_8974.dll - 1.4
That worked for me.

I loaned my friend my old s7 edge and she said she got a blue screen of death. She went to a samsung repair spot in Best Buy that was authorized. She dropped it off and the tech called saying the logic board went bad. So I just ripped out the board in my S7E to replace it but before buying a 935v I was hoping i could buy a 935U board since its unlocked. Just wondering if anyone has done or confirmed this would work. I used to do this all the time with LG devices but not sure on this device. Thanks.
The reason I ripped out the board is because the phone would not power on, go into safe mode, recovery, bootloader, nothing. All I could get was my surface to recognize the SD chipset as MSM8996 when plugged in.

Well I guess it doesn't matter because I can't even find a 935u board only the 935v.
Funny thing is that the board in the pic is from an AT&T model, SM-G935A. Probably it was flashed with U firmware at some point... and bootlooped. The "A" bootloader has a higher number than the "U" or "V" and it cannot be flashed over.

I thought the same thing also. But underneath that it says /v/ and other letters. Seems to be the same board for most carriers. This was original from Verizon.
It is possible, but there's no U there.
I have flashed my V with U firmware and it worked fine, even got the U official updates after that. So it might be indeed the same board with different firmware on.
When I change the SIM, the phone re-flashes automatically a different radio modem, with a different CSC code.
