No need to find a new exploit. Downgrade, root, install recovery then flash a pre rooted flashable zip of the latest firmware (Once someone makes it and uploads it)

did somebody successfully root their z3 yet? doesn't work on mine yet just downgraded and wiped everything by flashtool, didn't install or setup google account etc

Brand new 6603 bought in Germany, Unbranded Stock ROM ( from 1&1 Telekom) , OTA updated to latest version.
Downloaded Global .93 FW, Flashed with Full Wipe, Development options (USB debug, Mock locations), Security (Unknown sources, No verify), No SIM, No SD, No Google, No WiFi. No scrren lock, Display timeout 10 minutes.
Run the exploit over and over, but no luck (even waited 3 minutes after reboot before confirming USB Debug prompt.
Simply no luck..

Someone over the z3 compact managed to back up his TA. Can't confirm though

I have D6603 Germany Unbranded too. I will test with Customized DE and Global and report if and how it works my friend.
Edit: Doesn't work for me on Global still not tested on DE, but I will soon.
Is it possible that anyone releases a pre-rooted Stock Firmware [LB] ?!

I've downgraded my phone as well to 2.93 and it didn't work after multiple attempts...

I'vo got a xperia tablet and smartphone, and i want to help your dev section for these devices.
Smartphone : 307 rooted / BL
Tablet : 370 noroot / BL

Hope i can help you with my sony'toys
Yeah. Root the tablet (at this time only possible by downgrading to 344), upgrade to 370 with OTA Rootkeeper, make a (possibly deodexed) ROM of this (CWM flashable) and upload it for us. Then you would be a GREAT help!

Thank you for this. I managed to get a Chinese 402 fimware downloaded, created an ftf out of it and flashed it successfully. Would be more helpful if this wasn't a Chinese build but its a start.
Edit: I chose 402 as its the latest firmware that is supported by doomlord root and recovery. The endpoint is to be back on CM11/12. Having a tough time as im not able to boot to recovery from the Chinese build. Also seems that there is a possible hardware issue as I am having intermittant connectivity issues with the tablet. It seems to come in and out of flash mode on its own in the flashtool. I am trying to flash a different firmware but it wont stay in flash mode long enough for the firmware flash to complete successfully. Pretty frustrating. I noticed this usb issue while using chargers over the last month or so too. Tablet would show that it was charging for a second then not charging intermittently. I thought it could be rom related which inspired the want to ftf back to stock but i think that there is something physically wrong with this tab now. Shame as its only six months old and was barely used.

wooo bad luck buddy, you should take it back to sony while you still got the chance (under warranty). If you have saved the DRM keys before unlocking the bootloader, you should relock it and flash a stock ftf (Canadian version). i dont know why the OP link doesnt work. but i had just checked my box account and the files are still there the .402 one
SGP511 Wifi Generic CA .402: https://app.box.com/s/o3webtra06yvet2zuva47vka3h981s4l
if the link does not work you either have to create a Box account or give me your email. i dont know why Box is like this.

Thanks for the support
I tried again with the box link and it says: "the item you are trying to access has been deleted or is unavailable to you" Ill PM you my address.

Thank you. I sat till 01:30 this morning to get my tablet back to workable state after trying to downgrade. In the process I lost some data.
The mistake I did was to flash your ftf file via flashtool after I did a OTA update to .167. From there things went south quickly. Now I'm back to .167 after flashing a generic .314 and doing an OTA.
Will start the process again to downgrade and then root and then install dual recovery.
Sorry for the stupid question. I'm from South Africa, is there a way I can get or make a flashable .167 for my region or doesn't it really matter using a RU version?
First off, i would like to say thank you for these FTF files
i flashed this FTF without a hitch, everything works as it should except my data connection. and for me, this is a deal breaker, i need the data connection (I'm currently with bell mobility)
now my question is...
can i take out the LTE bands from this 23.0.1.A.0.167 FTF and replace it with bell's (band4 1700MHz, band7 2600MHz)
sorry for this noob question, my other tab is the nexus 7... no FTF files to deal with.
firmware version
17.1.1.A.0.438 with a locked bootloader ( un-lockable )
Hi again. Managed to get the update done and now have. 167 installed with root. I'm having the same problem as blaze82 with regards to the LTE not working for me. I also need my LTE to work, so can this be fixed somehow?
An ex Asus transformer user, so the sony way of foing is also new to me.
Many thanks for files and help.
Just realized that there is no APN set for mobile Internet access. Added it and now my LTE is working.

[STOCK][D66XX][4.4.4] Firmware 23.0.1.A.5.77 Generic [ROOT/XZDR/SuperSU]

Required:
- Flashtool in the latest version from: http://flashtool.net
- DualRecovery by NUT as installer.zip: http://nut.xperia-files.com (Download the correct one for your device and at least version 2.8.1+!)
- Root on 23.0.A.2.93 (Download) for example with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/giefroot-rooting-tool-cve-2014-4322-t3011598
Featurelist:
- SuperSU integrated
- DualRecovery by NUT integrated (2.8.1)
Can be used on locked and unlocked bootloader.
Firmware Files:
D6603, D6653
- Flashable.zip's and FTF files in folders - sorted by devices
The Flashable.zip i've created with the mighty tool PRFCreator by zxz0O0.
Installation/Update (short) guide:
0. Downgrade to the firmware 23.0.A.2.93 and root it (with giefroot)
0.1. Install the LockedDualRecovery by NUT with the installer.zip (install.bat)
1. Put the downloaded update file (ROM.zip) on your device. I recommend you to put it directly on the device.
2. Boot into the recovery (While rebooting -> when the info LED flashs -> press shortly the VOL button for the Recovery you prefer)
(On Recovery you may create a twrp/cwm backup of your device if you get any issues on updating process!)
3. Flash the ROM update file (.zip) with "install zip".
4. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (perhaps under advanced).
5. Reboot to system.
You may have to wait some minutes on the first boot because of initializing system for first time (optimizing apps etc.).
What to do if you get permission errors? (While installing for example the Recovery)
Untill NUT updates his DualRecovery you should fix permissions with ADB with the following commands:
(tested with command line from the giefroot_V...\files\ directory -> shift + right mouse -> open cmd "here")
Either you could try the modified DualRecovery (installer) by NUT (modified by monx): http://d-h.st/iM9p
Code:
adb push systemrw.sh /data/local/tmp
adb push modulecrcpatch /data/local/tmp
adb push wp_mod.ko /data/local/tmp
adb shell
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/systemrw.sh
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/modulecrcpatch
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/wp_mod.ko
su
cd /data/local/tmp
./systemrw.sh
Special Thanks to:
[NUT] (DualRecovery and his efforts!)
zxz0O0 (giefroot rooting tool, PRFCreator and his efforts!)

Your flashable file says it's D5803...is it a typo or?
I have to check this 'issue' when I get back home today at the evening.
Perhaps I've confused something cause of releasing Z3 and Z3C flashable.zip at the same time.
I refreshed the download link right now but it seems that nothing has changed so far.
You can check my folder on http://mega.leetbox.net until I will inspect the files.
Sorry for the confusion.

There are only little differences like some preinstalled apps and maybe how the connection shows up (4G/LTE).
Basically all customizations are quite equal and you can flash them vice versa on every device (correct model number ) independently which one was preinstalled.
It seems like TWRP is not working, but CWM is working allright. Haven't found any more issues yet.

You're wrong bro. You can flash D6603 onto D6653 and not getting bootloop. They are basically the same device but just different LTE bands. D6603 have all of the bands while D6653 only contain those in mostly Asia. I personally tried flashing SlipROM on my phone before and it work just like normal.

Only needs Flashtool to downgrade to .93. If you are already rooted with .93 and a custom recovery, you can flash via recovery.
If anyone have problem with dual recovery installation, maybe have to install BusyBox from Google Play. From some reason, my phone was rooted with success, however without busybox, i had to manual install it from Google Play.
Guys, after flashing .77 FW from Recovery, there`s no need to flash FTF again with excluding SYSTEM ? Just flash the zip and that`s all, right ?

If the zip included the stock kernel when being created, then no, you don't need to flash the FTF again excl system.

Nope! If D6653 doesn't support AWS bands, it can't use that AWS bands from D6603. Like I said, the specs are the same except the RIL bands. D6603 is the international version. Hence it support more bands while D6653 is build for Asia region bands. Hence the bands only stay within Asia.

[D6633][FIRMWARE][5.1.1] Xperia Z3 23.4.A.1.264 [PRE-ROOTED] Customized PT

UPDATE (2016-01-09): If you have problems with SMS after flashing this try a Factory Restore, as some reported this fixed it for them.
UPDATE (2015-12-13): Since Mega errors out these days I uploaded it to some other places too, scroll down. Remember always to verify checksums on everything you are going to flash. On Windows you can install HashCheck.
UPDATE (2015-12-12): I and others used TWRP to flash ROMs and it works fine (aka no missing root, no bootloops), if you did not use it, and tried Philz or CWM and you've got issues, do try TWRP too before compaining. Also, for Xposed, if you had it before, try to UNinstall it and then REinstall it after flashing this ROM

Yes! It works fine. Root, recovery, all OK.
The only thing I don't like is that it shows 4G instead of LTE and the icons are too separated, but that's just an aesthetic thing.
The rom works fine and fluid.

hm,
most firmwares here in this forum are either uploaded up to mega.nz or drive.google.com
someone else suggested http://oceanhost.eu/
Yeah, am at it for hours and it will take more hours
Oceanhost? Up to 100Mb? umm no.
Since Mega errors out these days I uploaded it to some other places too, see OP

Thank you very much
Strongly appreciated :good:
I tried to make my own firmware with PRFCreator 1.1, downloaded the PT_23.4.A.1.264 and included SuperSU and dualrecovery but somehow I got it wrong and lost root
Downgraded to 23.0.F.1.74 and have root and dualrecovery again.
So I'll give it a try again and I hope I'll keep root this time.
Is lockeddualrecovery2.8.23 recommended for this upgrade?

That's what I bundled.
The new download source is working fine.
I used TWR to install the firmware and it worked like a charm, no problems with root.
My Z3 Dual D6633 is on 23.4.A.1.264 without any problems or bugs so far.
tks!!
what does it means that is from portugal?

It has some country specific bloatware/offers. Not really useful. But it was the only one .264 ready for D6633.
