Hi. No,it will not trip your knox as it is Samsung Firmware. KNOX Gets tripped only when you root/CWM.

From what i heard which i forgot where, downgrading from 5.0 to lower WILL trip knox, because it then downgrades KNOX security, so samsung doesn't officially accept to downgrade it from 5.0 to 4.4. Also im 100% certain that Samsung wrote that it's not possible to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.4.x, so i assume if u force to downgrade, it may trigger the knox.

I downgraded from polish lollipop bnl9 to kitkat(beacause I do not want to loose root) and my knox counter is still 0x0

Well thanks guys.
I did it also and it doesn't trip knox .

This ROM works in G900M?
Sent from my klte using XDA Free mobile app

Downgraded from lollipop G900IZTU1BOA1 to G900IDVU1ANK1 .
Lollipop is not yet for me. A bit laggy, not XPOSED framework and much other stuff which worked fine on KK. Must wait to 5.0.2 version maybe? Version 5.0 is not for advanced user yet
Total noooob downgrade:
1)Start phone in download mode
2)Flash KK firmware.
3)Your phone will not start normally either. Bootloop guaranted.
4)Remove battery and put in again.
5)Do a factory reset from STOCK recovery
6)Flash again KK firmware
7)Phone start normally, you can start customization and other stuff like rooting or daily using.

Root on g900p with 4.4.4 w/out tripping knox

I have a G900P from Sprint running 4.4.4. I wish I had thought about rooting before it updated from 4.4.2, since this was apparently very easy.
I have searched high and low on Google and XDA and everywhere on how to root 4.4.4 without tripping knox or how to downgrade 4.4.4 down to 4.4.2 on the G900P with no success. All posts cover other models, especially Verizon's, but I would need the 4.4.2 stock rom and kernel for Sprint's G900P to perform this method on my phone.
Does anyone know how to either:
1) Root a G900P with 4.4.4 without tripping Knox. OR
2) Downgrade a G900P down to 4.4.2 with a valid link to the Sprint 4.4.2 ROM & Kernel?
Thank you.

Downgrading from stock 5.01 to stock 4.2.2 could have tripped knox and set the screen to say custom.
So the bootloader and modem are now on 4.2.2?

For the gt-i9505, I see no KK ROM, only 5.01 ROM: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9505/
Where did you get the 4.2.2 ROM?
What do you see under settings, phone for baseband?

Not sure what you mean re KK ROM ...

From Phone: Baseband version: I9505DVUAMD8
KK = Kit Kat which is 4.4.2. My mistake because 4.2.2 is Jelly Bean.
I searched sammobile.com for the s4 gt-i9505 and only found firmware for the link in my post above. Following your link, I found the firmware.
As far as I know, Knox did not exist until the 4.3 firmware which leads me to believe that the bootloader on the phone is either 4.3, 4.4, or 5.01 while the modem is older than 4.3. This may be causing the problem. As a test. flash back to stock 5.01 to see if sound and wifi work.

I flashed back to 5.0.1 and Sound & WiFi now works again - what does that mean ?
How do I then Flash back to a Stock 4.2.2 ROM and have Sound & WiFi work after that ?
If it works on 5.01, then at least you know everything is working properly and the problem is the 4.2.2 rom.
i don't believe you can downgrade the bootloader to stock 4.2.2 which means you cannot run a stock 4.2.2 rom on the phone because the phone will have a bootloader that is not compatible with 4.2.2.

WT ??? Does that mean if you upgrade to Stock 5.0.1 you can NEVER downgrade back to Stock 4.2.2 ??
Yes, it certainly looks that way. On my i337m, I can flash back to stock 4.4.2 but nothing older.

Google you s^#(k !! how dodgy is that not allowing people to downgrade if there upgrades are crap!!
Is there another way ??
Can I downgrade back to 4.2.2 with another Bootloader or custom ROM ??
Would surprised if I am the only one in the world that wanted to downgrade and there was no known workaround ...
It has nothing to do with Google as it is Samsung that locks the bootloader.
If a phone could fully downgrade to a stock 4.2.2 rom, including the bootloader, I would not expect to see any references to Knox in download mode.
You could search but I have not seen any posts where an end user was able to downgrade the bootloader to a non-Knox version.

When you downgraded from 5.0.1 to 4.4.2 did you get any Know Issues OR Loss of Sound OR Loss of WiFi ?
Does the downgrade need to be a stock ROM ?
Knox was tripped from 0x0 to 0x1 but everything worked, probably because the everything went to 4.4.2, including the bootloader.
The downgrade does not have to be a stock ROM. Running a 4.3 or 4.4.2 custom ROM such as CM does not alter the bootloader or modem.

Does that mean I can downgrade from Stock 5.0.1 all the way down to Stock 4.3 with no issues except Knox tripped to 0x1 ?
Or does it have to be a customer ROM to have no issues ?
I have never used custom ROM's only Stock ROM's
Some bootloaders can be downgraded to 4.1.1 like I did with my note 2 but the s3 can't be downgraded at all. I think the s4 is limited to 4.4.2 .
Downgrade i9505 to 4.4.2
I downgraded my galaxy s4 i9505 from 5.0.1 to 4.4.2 and knox flag was not tripped.I think it will be tripped only if you flash bootloader without knox.Maybe if you don't care of knox flag and want to run android 4.2.2 you must flash kitkat modem to have working wifi..
Hello mr. Marduj5
I'm also a Galaxy S4 user and want to install stock 4.2.2. I did everything you said... but the only problem now is the microphone and the speakers don't work after flashing Kitkat modem. I had the Connections but the media is now the problem. Thanks for the help...

When will gt-I9505 having baseband #XXUGNH6 will get official lollipop firmware??

Today is the time of Marshmallow and I am still in kitkat. I dont mean I want marshmallow but atleast I am waiting for lollipop in my GT-I9505 of baseband #XXUGNH6.. I know there is several lollipop for baseband I9505XXUPOL1 but still #XXUGNH6 don't have.. And other thing I dont want lollipop from any other custom rom!
-Thank you!
Have you tried manually checking for the OTA?
You could also try flashing it with Odin. This will not trip knox or affect flash counter.
Are u sure?
Flashing stock firmware via Odin will not trip Knox unless you are trying to downgrade.

[GT-I9505] CUSTOM ROM that WILL NOT TRIGGER KNOX WARRANTY BIT 0x0 to 0x1

Do you have any working Custom ROMs that will not trigger Knox Warranty Bit 0x0 to 0x1?
Or rather any working suggestions to avoid bootloader to be locked when flashing non-knox enabled firmware?
Please Confirm if the following were TRUE or NOT.
SITUATION 1:
Official Lollipop 5.0.1 to Official Kitkat 4.4.2
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 2:
Official Kitkat 4.4.2 to Official Lollipop 5.0.1
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 3:
Official Kikat 4.4.2 to Official Jellybean 4.3
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 4:
Official Jellybean 4.3 to Official Kitkat 4.4.2
KNOX will retain 0x0
SITUATION 5:
Official Jellybean 4.3 to Official Kitkat4.4.2
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 6:
Official JB 4.2 to Official JB 4.3/KK 4.4/LP 5.0.1
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 7:
Official JB 4.3/KK 4.4/LP 5.0.1 to Official JB 4.2
KNOX will issue at 0x1
Downgrading to JB 4.2 will restrict user to upgrade to higher Android Version.
But User can flash Custom ROM all they want?
The bootloader isn't locked by flashing any kind of firmware.
Your device either comes with a locked bootloader or an unlocked bootloader. Verizon and AT&T phones usually have a locked bootloader.
You can find some info here.
But it's seems a lot of hassle and isn't really worth it unless you are using KNOX or count on the warranty.
