[Q] HELP- 2 apps reporting rooted device on stock ROM

Hi,
PLEASE HELP ME!!
I've got a stock out of the box Galaxy S4 (4.2.2) and I'm having trouble with a couple of apps not installing.
The first app is Good Messaging for my corporate email, tries to install then says 'my phone is not within policy'
Just tried to install my mobile banking app and it bombs out and says my device is rooted.
I've have definitely not tried to root or modify the Android OS. I downloaded the free rootchecker app and it says I'm not rooted.
Is this an app problem or something weird on the S4 I need to modify so it appears unrooted? Never had this issue with my past S2.
Thanks in advance.

If you have to root your phone so that you can use this app, why you don't do it? It takes you a little 15 minutes, just follow the tuto carefully and everything will be easy.
Also if you want to go back to official stock for insurance issue, you can flash to the official stock.
I do not want to root my device. I want it unrooted (locked)- which out of the box it should be.
The 2 apps I'm trying to install will fail to work if the device is rooted.
Unfortunately the apps 'think' my device is rooted when its not.
How can I double check if my S4 device is unrooted/locked?
FYI- I'm with Vodafone UK (England). I wonder if their Android build is the problem? Is there an easy way to install a stock non branded ROM?

That is I tried to tell you, Root->Unroot = out of the box factory state. No one will notice that you have root...
That cannot be. Even if you device is root, you can still download any app. However if you device is not rooted, yo cannot download App who require the root.
Try to flash the official firmware of your phone through Odin, and see if it still displays that error warning.

Device status - custom - after upgrading to android 5 on note 3 n 9005

Hello to everyone.
I have a note 3 , N 9005. I rooted it at some point then i reset it to factory settings because the banking app and other apps did not work anymore. Yesterday I did flash the new android 5, which I downloaded from xda forum.
Everything went smooth, I was hoping the device status - custom message will go away with the new official firmware installation.
It still shows the same.
I tried the unmount sd card, wipe cache and restart with no success. I have also erased all data on the sd card (32 GB samsung).
How can I have my device status set to ''official'' so I can receive updates automatically?
When will there be a root method for android 5 ?
Thanks so much for your time.
Hamza

You can set your system to official by using wanam xposed in the xposed installer. using wanam set systemb to official. Then request the update. Wait until it downloads then use odin to reinstall custom firmware. Then let the ota install. It will put you back to your original kk then it will download lollipop again. You cash also go back to fill in root by using odin to install factory firm ware. Keep an eye on it because after the firmware installs it will reset. As soon as it goes from boot to loading the rom pull the battery before any of your information gets in to the new firmware. P ut the battery back in hit vol up + menu + power in the stock recovery click factory reset let it load. Check out your factory set system then come back here and click thank you.
Hey dude,
I upgraded my Note3 to 5.0 and kept root. If you're still on KK you can install Xposed framework and install the Wanam module. You have a option in that module to "fake" the STATUS message to OFFICIAL. I can assure you that it works, but you can upgrade with MobileOdinPro and still have a rooted 5.0 Note3. The steps are easy, but with a search on google I'm sure you will be okay. If you still don't manage to find anything, you can PM me and I'm sure I can help.
Hi again to everyone. My device is not rooted now. I unrooted when I was still on kit kat because the mobile banking app did not work and other apps too.
I tried to root it using CF autoroot for android 5. It said fail .
That is the message I got from Odin. The phone is not bricked, it still works normally.
I have done alot of search on google, I have not found anything which seems ok, just a post on a blog, and people commented below that they bricked their devices with that method so I did not do it.
Thanks to everyone for their advices and for taking the time to reply to my post.
Any more ideas please? Thanks.

Hi . Yes I know. I should have rooted when I was on kit kat, then upgraded through mobile odin pro, and I would have kept root.
Thanks for your reply.
Hello.
Updates are:
I have downgraded to the latest kit kat. Rooted it. I flashed lollipop using mobile odin pro. It went ok but I had no root . I do not know why.
I rooted using chain fire auto root. I am rooted now finally. I managed to get rid of all the crapware. My wi fi acts up. I need to log in everytime i restart the phone.
the wifi turns on but it does not remember to log in automatically. Any fix for that?
Also I can't se the device status to "official" by using wanam exposed. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.

[Q] Remove Custom & "Lock" logo on boot screen

Hello all,
I have a Samsung Galxy S5 with AT&T model SM-G900A. Any time the phone reboots, on the "Samsung Galaxy S5" boot screen, it says "Custom" and has an "Unlocked Padlock" logo as if the phone were rooted or something. A while back, I was trying to do a basic root to allow use of Titanium Backup using the Towelroot app, which failed because it said my phone was not supported. I'm not sure if this has caused it, or if, as I read elsewhere, it was caused by my once changing from Dalvik to ART. However, I have since switched back to Dalvik, I know its not rooted because SU and other such apps wont work, and I have even Factory Reset the device but I can not get rid of this. I would like to return my phone to its default state. How can I get rid of this "Custom" and Lock Logo? Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

It won't hurt anything as long as Knox isn't tripped but you can download the full stock retail ROM and flash it in Odin or Kies 3.
Update: Phone thinks its rooted?

Okay, so here is an update. After performing a factory reset in order to try and fix this issue, I was playing around and opened the "Softcard" app and received the message that it doesn't work on rooted phones. Since the Towelroot app did not work, I don't understand this. I have also been unable to get SuperUser to install binaries, saying the phone is not rooted. Don't know what this means or if it helps, but thought id give an update. Thanks again!
Would you be so kind as to provide me with a link to the retail ROM and instructions on flashing it through Kies 3? THANKS!
I'd have to do a search. .. or you could. ?

Thanks, I found the file (I hope) and downloaded odin, and it is currently flashing. I will let you know if it a) removes the custom lock and b) fixes the softcard app thinking the phone is rooted. Thanks for your help!
It Worked!!!!!

I would like to report that flashing the stock ROM has fixed both the Custom Lock boot screen as well as SoftCard thinking my phone was rooted. Thank you Rapunzl for your help, you are awesome!

Rooting noob, I think I bricked my SM-g900T :( Help!

so i am an idiot and didn't do proper reading and tried to root my t-mobile S5 running 5.1.1 firmware using CF root method, which got it stuck on the startup samsung screen (with the "powered by android" at the bottom). factory reset and cache clear did not fix the problem. currently i am downloading the stock firmware for it, will take a while.
my questions are the following:
1. Am i doing the right steps to fix this problem? I assume downloading the stock firmware and flashing it with odin is the right thing to do.
2. I'm hearing some people who have had problems after unrooting S5's, saying that they are unable to receive official updates because they get an error saying the phone has been modified in an "unauthorized way" even after unrooting. something about a knox counter? sorry, i have no idea. What are the chances i run into this problem?
Yes, yes and yes. (I don't get the updates)
Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
I am getting the same message when it tried to update my s5 after almost bricking it while trying to flash a custom rom. Had to unroot it from what I'm told to fix the problem and I thought before it is rooted again I'd go ahead and b update. No such luck, man T mobile really wants us to have their darn TV app on our devices . Either way it won't let me update and I'm hoping there's a way around tha f before I gr ugh rooting b it b again. On the brigbt b side I was b able t ok b install Tasker again which for skme b reason seems to be a b issue with lollipop.

Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized

Hi everyone,
Straight to the point, I bought Samsung S7 Edge second-hand and I get trouble in lagging and always show notification of "Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes."
This problems also tangled me when I'm using Samsung Health...:crying::crying::crying:
As basic situation, I know it had been root and unroot before I bought this phone.
Is anyone can help me to get rid off?:crying::crying:
samsung health, android pay and secure folder won't work on device that has root or have been rooted. firstly, to get rid of the annoying notification, install titanium backup, grant root rights if you are still rooted, locate the apk "security log agent and freeze it. If not, install latest twrp and root with magisk or supersu, just search online how to do so. lastly , to get rid of the lagging and notification . flash latest stock rom via odin and everything would be fine ..just remember that your knox is tripped forever so don't expect samsung health would work after removing root or getting back to latest stock ..hope this helps and good luck
