Hello,
For the past week, I've been sifting through the forums looking for a solution to my problem. I have tried the Google Nexus Toolkit and others without success.
Last week, I was running a backup with CW and I MUST have pressed a button by accident. My Nexus 7 has been in the Google Lock screen and will not boot into anything. Power and volume etc... Just goes back to this screen. (see the enclosure).
I was rooted and havent flashed anything to it. I even tried stock cables and others.
Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks in Advance,
Marty
You can't boot into the bootloader? When you can see that google lock screen, hold the power and volume down buttons. The screen should turn off, continue holding them. And when it turns back on, it should be in the bootloader, and you can let go of the buttons. From there the Nexus 7 Toolkit should work, the fastboot commands at least. Try reflashing a recovery if you can't get back into it, and flashing a rom, stock or otherwise.
Solved Thank You

Thank you very much!!
Not a problem at all, just ask if you need anymore help with anything.
I have tried at least 10 times with no results. I power down the device, hold both volume buttons and the power button, and nothing. I do get a vibrate after about 2 seconds, but nothing on the screen and then it vibrates every 6-7 seconds until I let go of the buttons. Kind of disappointed as I was all nice and comfortable on the couch, ready to use the Nexus 10 toolkit to do the all-in-one.
Anyone else experience this problem?

Try releasing then power button (but hold the other two) when you feel the first vibration. I've found that holding the power button can make a continuous reboot happen.

Tried that, but no luck. I also went a different route and tried to do it using mskip's toolkit in original android development. After installing the drivers and choosing the options to boot into fastboot, the device vibrated once and nothing showed up on the screen. BUT...when I refreshed the main menu the toolkit recognized the device as in fastboot mode. Really weird happenings with this, and starting to be concerned that my device has some issues. What point is a Google device if I can't unlock or root it?!

I've had the best luck holding the vol up/down button down first, then while that's down, pressing and holding power until the fastboot menu comes up.
Well, I am at a complete loss. Is this cause for replacement?

Hold all three buttons at the same time and wait for the vibration and release. It should work.

Ok, so, I'm not sure what to make of the recent events. Bottom line, I was booting to fastboot mode, but the screen was just blank. I followed the instructions via the toolkit just by selecting the buttons and hoping it was making the correct selections in fastboot mode. Now unlocked, rooted, and a happy man! Still not sure why the fastboot menu would not show up though.

I cant get the toolkit to recognize my tablet in fastboot mode. Is there a soluton to the black screen?
If the toolkit does not recognize the device in fastboot, then there's a good chance you didn't install the drivers correctly. Did you follow the directions correctly to get the toolkit to recognize the device?

I got my device unlocked and the device did install the drivers. However, the problem was not that. But here's the thing, my N10 never showed me the fastboot menu. But connected to the PC it does show its connected. I never saw the screen that confirms "do you want to unlock the bootleader" (it goes completely black and vibrates every 5 seconds).
Workaround to unlock: For anyone with this problem, I just had to "guess" that menu (I think its clicking the vol button down once and then the power button). For me it bootlooped. so I pressed the Vol+ and power and in fastboot I booted to stock recovery, from there just wipe factory settings, and voila.
Weird tho that my fastboot screen was completely black

This is exactly how I had to do it. It's a 50/50 shot, since I think the options are yes or no. Apparently the problem is a little more common, as evidenced by this thread I started in Android General, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018777

Reboot into boot loader, choose recovery, press all three buttons at top at same time if you don't have options to select, then factory reset. This will solve your boot loop.

The post above is correct. Same thing happened to me. Just factory reset and you should be good to go

I have a 2012 Nexus 7 32gb wifi tablet, I believe the 4.2.2, unlocked and rooted (tried to update to newer android version but failed during auto update), on stock rom. Has been laggy lately...noticed that if I turned it off (not power off), by the next morning I would have to hold the power button to turn it on going thru the Google unlocked screen with black background then the google X screen then input password (even though battery was fully charged)...rather than just starting at password screen. Then suddenly today, it kept freezing after a minute or so after entering the password whether using an app or not. Kept having to hold power button to reboot...had to reboot around 10 times! Then finally, it would just freeze at the "Google" screen with unlocked padlock logo and would not go further!? Tried booting into bootloader and going into recovery mode...but then it would freeze at the "teamwin" start up screen. Went home to use wug's nexus 7 toolkit to flash back to factory stock...didn't work. Still stuck on "google" screen but now has bootloader option "start", "power off" etc. on "google" screen (probably cause I was trying to flash 4.3 as factory stock). It didn't really complete the flash to factory either cause it said it was waiting for the device to boot but the device never booted back up after waiting and waiting. So pressing volume down and power I just booted into bootloader while pc said waiting for device. Said it failed writing bootloader, also boot.sig and recovery.sig not in archive. Now it says "booting failed" in the top left corner of the "google" start up screen (with the bootloader option to "start", "power off", "restart bootloader" and "recovery mode" on same screen. If anyone has any suggestions, much appreciated.
Hello everyone,
I found a nexus 7 on a second hand website for 20 euro's.
In the tekst he sayd that the nexus dos'nt boot up after upgrading the firmware update.
So i thought its possible to try to fix it.
If i start the nexus 7 i get the google screen with in the right top the tekst start.
if i push the power button the nexus restarts and shows the same screen again.
I can swith between start, reboot bootloader, recovery mode ecs. but all dos'nt work if i push the power button.
When i try to start the bootloader that works fine but when i try to unlock it, i get the screen with the security warning and i can select yes to unlock it or no.
But when i again push the power button it reboots and nothing happens, the nexus is'nt unlock.
Is there a another way to do this or is it ready to trow in the garbige?
Is there maybe a acript that automticly push yes in the unlock bootloader screen?
Sorry for my bad english.
Best regards.

Cf Autoroot automatically unlocks the bootloader if it is locked: http://download.chainfire.eu/295/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-grouper-nakasi-nexus7.zip
worth the try. Try to flash the latest factory image after that
I tryed that one, but if i run it i get the unlock bootloader screen where i must select yes or no to unlock, but there i get stuck because if i push the power button to enter he reboots and i get that screen again.
Is there no solution to enter "Yes" in de unlock bootloader screen without using the power button or is there a script / program that auto write / flash the nexus 7, because i can't still flash that damn thing.
Asus must use another program to bring back the ship that is in the nexus, is there no thread or something that handles that problem without sending it to repair it.
Hi Folks,
My Nexus 7 Flo is stuck in bootloop after an OTA update. Not able to boot into recovery but I am able to boot into bootloader(I guess it is bootloader) by pressing Power and Volume down buttons. From this screen it shows a list of options when volume buttons are pressed and they are Start, Restart bootloader, Recovery mode, Power Off. After selecting any one of these option and by pressing the power button the system reboots and gets stuck in bootloop.
I don't think the ADB option is enabled in Developer settings. Not getting an idea to come out of this. Please help.
