[Q] SM G900 I Camera issues - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to erveryone,
since my last firmware update (over kies) i´ve got sincere camera issues on my G 900 I running Android 4.4.2.
As you can see it does have problems with colors and ghosting as well as it heavyly laggs.
When in turn HDR on/ off or change mode it seems to work normally again for some seconds and then crashes bag.
What i tried yet:
Upgrade to Android 5.0:
Camera works but Device does not store Wireless Passwords, so this cant be the solution yet
Try other Camera Apps, whipe cache, stop app
No difference at all.
Factory reset
No difference
Does anyone of you have any ideas or the same problem?

Try flashing the latest stock ROM for your model S5 from sammobile & use ODIN to flash it, then factory reset the new ROM

I tried that. But then my Wifi does not store any passwords.
Is it possible that all these problems are caused by wrong modem?
This is a SM G900I and im using a modem for a G900F (ANG2, KERNEL_G900FXXU1ANG2).
Unfortunately I dont know where to get the latest modem for the G900I.
As well my LTE is not working here in Germany.

If you get a stock ROM from sammobile dot com for your exact model S5, you should get the correct modem and everything designed for that S5

Okay, I did that. Within this step I upgraded to Android 5.0. My device did not store a single Wifi password, but the camera worked fine. Flashing back to stock 4.4.2 Wifi works fine, but the camera is broken!
Any Idea?

Sounds like Samsung need to fix some bugs
Maybe try a custom ROM, that way if you encounter any problems, you have direct contact with the dev to try and get it fixed

[Q] No GPS lock possible on Lollipop

Hey everybody,
I've been having an issue lately. Since I upgraded to Android Lollipop, I have not been able to get a GPS lock anymore. This issue only applies when I'm on a Lollipop ROM. As soon as I flash back to a kitkat TW ROM, everything works again. When I go back to a Lollipop ROM, the issue returns again.. No GPS lock. This is not ROM specific, but just related to Lollipop in my experience.
I have not seen anyone else yet with this issue, so I find this very strange. I'm currently on the latest version of GPE5 by @Danvdh if this helps. But like I mentioned before, the issue exists on every Lollipop ROM.
If someone could please help me, this would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
Anyone? ?
Me Gusta!
It seems to be a Lollipop thing.
I have the same issue with my Find 7 since installing Lollipop.

[Q] Lollipop Camcorder N9006

Hi, I'm kind of new to android in general and I'm sorry if I am somehow posting this in the wrong place. I switching through a couple of lollipop roms for the SM-N9006 Note 3 Chinese variant, I found that pretty much every N9005 or N900A works for this phone, but I'm always having issues with the camera recording on these lollipop roms, it either force closes, freezes, or shuts my phone off. I later discovered that my modem needs to be updated to fix this. I tried numerous N9005 firmwares and modems which all gave me some sort of an error on odin, I decided to use to use a N9006 lollipop firmware which successfully flashed. When I checked my baseband number after the phone booted up, it still displays the kitkat baseband and my camcorder still fcs. Could any one provide me with a solution, perhaps an earlier version of the camera app, an unbranded lollipop modem for the note 3, etc?
Thanks in advance
u need to upgrade ur modem from odin and install rom for n900x not N900 or n9005 or u can check note 3 themes and apps u can use camera mod or m9 camera or cm12 camera if u want
How would I update my modem?

Do I need to extract the modem out of the firmware file and reflash it? Or could I just flash one in cwm? Thanks for replying
I fixed it!
Alright peeps, I managed to solve the problem. I first flashed the last Kitkat update for the N9006 from Sammobile, then I just reflashed the lollipop update an now my modem appears updated, video recording works! Thanks for those who took time and looked at this post and those who tried to help me.
I'm not sure..someone please close the thread?

[Q] Camera Problem "Server error occurred. Restart Camera."

Hello everyone, I apologize in advance for my bad English. I had installed CyanogenMOD 12.1 for my galaxy s3 neo GT-i9301i, I was not pleased and decided to support the stock rom. I downloaded the firmware from sammobile.com. My region is Bulgaria had 4 available firmware. Installed firmware with Odin v3.10 everything went well, but when I ran camera message "Error Server. Reboot Camera." Then I tried another 3 firmware, but the camera did not go with any of them. I was forced to return to CM 12.1 and my camera works without problem. Please help.
PS: the camera works perfectly on CyanogenMod 11 but when installing the stock it does not work, so I installed CyanogenMod camera works again, so I do not think it's a hardware problem should be software

There are 2 types of firmware depending on your camera sensor:
1. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/38993/I9301IXCUANJ4_I9301IOXXANI3_BGL/
2. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/34531/I9301IXXUANH1_I9301IOXXANH1_BGL/
Just make sure before and after flashing things to do a complete factory reset from recovery to be sure nothing sticks from the old flash.
One of them must do the trick.
Thanks for the reply. After each Flashing with stock rom make factory reset from recovery. Today I will try again and write the result

Btw if your camera works on rox CM11, 12 and 12.1 then this http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/34531/I9301IXXUANH1_I9301IOXXANH1_BGL/ should work for you since rox roms work out of the box on this sensor.

Nexus 4 Wi-Fi problems

Hello,
I recently bought a LG Nexus 4. I hooked it to my home WiFi and noticed some problems.
The problem is that some sites are not getting loaded. Very slow load time.
For example google is loading pretty good but when i try Facebook around 4-5 minutes to load.
But when I am on cell network the internet connection is good.
I factory reset the device and still no fix. I haven't tried other WiFi networks.
Please advice.
Is the phone running the latest ROM, bootloader, and modem?

It isn't falshed with bootloader nor ROM
Just stock android lastest update.
The modem is the latest version firmware.
I tried it with other Wi-Fi - no success.
Could it be possible that the Wi-Fi module is damaged?

It's an old and well know problem.
Take a look at this tread and flash the fix. It's working in Lollipop too, but you need a custom recovery.

J500fn no service

Hi guys, I'm italian and sorry for my english.
My sister has a Galaxy J5 J500FN 6.0.1 brand H3G and I have to repair it.
The problem is:
-NO SIGNAL (prohibition symbol on status bar)
The Symptoms are:
-No calls. It says no network.
-No emergency calls! It says "turning on radio..." but close call and doesn't work
-IMEI is ok (in settings and with *#06#)
-Check online if my IMEI is locked, but it is ok
-In settings/device info/SIM Radio signal OFF
-In settings/mobile network/Network mode (LTE/3G...) is locked. I've no possibility to change the default mode to others
-In settings/mobile network/carriers (in italian is "Operatori di rete") Find Network doesn't start.
-In settings/mobile network/carriers (in italian is "Operatori di rete") Automatic selection doesn't start.
Resolution attempts:
-*#0011# ServiceMode, says NO SERVICE. I try a lot of solutions but nothing work (3 times back, 1, Q, 0000 doesn't work) MAIN MENU doesn't
appear. I don't find other keys online...
-Wipe cache
-Wipe data/factory reset
-flash with ODIN last firmware 6.0.1, same situation
-flash with ODIN last firmware 5.1.1, same situation
-root 5.1.1 with cf-autoroot, same situation.
-I've bought a new Antenna circuit from eBay (complete panel with chrome frame and camera lens)...correctly installed but doesn't work.
-I try to install "Network" apk (by philipp mangelow), in 5.1.1 doesn't start, in 6.0.1 start and i see TURN ON RADIO button but doesn't
work. LTA/3G....network selection is locked to default.

Try to install a custom rom, since data isn't a problem for you and since you already rooted it as I can see from the above. If you will succeed I think your sister would love more a custom rom to crapwiz

Did you test other sim in the phone?(can be a sim problem)
Did it this from the begining or it worked before?
The phone can be network locked and you need by a unlock code!?
You are the first owner or the phone is second hand?
A custom rom can be a fix but you should try to flash via ODIN a stock rom from other country for your phone tipe(j5ooFN)
Thanks for your replies
Answering you, I tried 3 different SIM cards from different carriers but same problem.
This is a phone bought new directly from my sister.
This problem appears suddenly when it was 5.1.1.
During my tests official 6.0.1 OTA update become but the problem remained.
I will try to install official ROM from other country
I will try to install a custom ROM... Do you recommend using a custom TW ROM or an AOSP ROM?

Try Lineage OS 13 by Koloses it's the most stable custom rom by now, but to install that you need to be on lollipop firmware 5.1.1 and to have the latest twrp 3.0.2 by nick verse, make all wipes except sdcard and usb-otg then flash rom and gapps and reboot
I downloaded all necessary files for these 2 attemps:
1. Official ROM for other countries, e.g. ITV and XEO (my current ROM are HUI)
2. Back to 5.1.1 then TWRP + Lineage OS 13 + Gapps
I will try!

Maybe because you have to use H3G firmware only to get it to work but I don't know man
In all my previous attempts I have always used H3G firmware (HUI)
Now I was on 5.1.1 and as suggested I tried Lineage 13.
To have another time stock 6.0.1 TW I've only to wipe and flash with odin? I can try other country ROM...
If I give up and return the phone to my sister, at least the interface is the same as before my intervention and she does not panic
However, I thank you for your help!

What an irritating situation! Wish you make it mate
I am having the same issue with a galaxy j5 sm-j500g. Cannot turn on the radio. I think the issue was to flash the TWRP, because before that, the phone was working fine. I did exactly the same as you, did a software update and a downgrade, but it did not work. The only way that worked for me was doing this, (in this order):
1. Flash the latest firmware.
2. Flash the TWRP and root the phone.
3. Do a factory reset and clear the cache.
4. Flash an early version of the software (1st version of the 6.1 firmware)
It took like 30 minutes to boot the firts time, but my phone got signal. I was really happy but after 12 hours I got the same issue.. the same message: "no network connection".
I will try other ways and see if they work.
Hi and thank you for reporting your experience!
I Tried to flash 5.1.1, 6.0.1 several times but for me signal never start to work.
My sister told me that the first time he gave the problem, for a while it has come back to work and then it does not work anymore.
In my many network searches, I saw a Russian youtube video that shows how to heat up a little chip (2mm x 2mm) and re-sold it to reset the radio signal
did u fix it?? i have same prb
Hi, only solution for this problem, for me, was changing phone.... Changing only antenna chip doesn't solve problem...
Same problem here Bro. I flashed 5.1 and 6.0 tryed combination file, root, no signal at all, when try emergency call say " Trying turn radio on" Same situation, same problem and same sitiation: No solution!
