[Q] Help With Rooting / Recovery - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello everyone,
I used to be a frequent supporter of the development community here back when I had the Samsung Infuse. It seems that in the time since, Samsung has made it difficult to root phone and install recovery methods properly. I've done my best using the search functions on this site, but there are so many results that show up, and most are outdated.
I am trying to figure out what tools to use to root my phone, and how to properly install clockwork mod recovery.
Here is the information on my phone:
Model: SGH-I337
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband: I337UCUFNJ4
If you require any more information to help me out please let me know.
I appreciate the help in advance!

You're but going to be able to use cwm, safestrap is the only recovery you can use. To root see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56738573. For recovery look in the general forum for guide, all things at&t...

The root methods you have listed are intended for older versions. The only functioning NC1 root method is towelroot. Please check the all things NC1 thread prior to posting. All info can be found there. The person above has given the link to towelroot. If you go to the galaxy s5 forums, you can get a tutorial on it, but it's pretty straightforward. Enjoy your rooted device.
Remember that the phone has a locked boot loader. So, the stock kernel and recovery cannot be replaced. The only working recovery is safestrap. There is also restrictions on the Roms that can be flashed.

[Q]s : Root, safeStrap, ROM.. Help Me?

I am new to most of this so please be gentle. Thank you in advance for anyone who actually makes it through my questions and even ponders an answer.
Potentially Useful Phone Information: (Anything left out please ask for it and ill respond as quickly as possible)
Verizon Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900V
Android version: 4.4.2
Build #: KOT49H.N900VVRUCNC4
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Current Phone Status:
Rooted with towelRoot
SuperSU installed & run (I assume properly)
ROM Manager installed (done nothing with the app)
Root Browser installed
RootChecker installed & run (says I have access to root)
Safestrap installed from (blog.hash-of-codes.com/downloads/safestrap) **not allowed to post links yet**
Downloaded from the VZN Galaxy Note 3 option, mirror 2 (it gave me version 3.70)
Question #1: After downloading, installing, running and then installing recovery, when I reboot into recovery I do not see anything ever. Is there something I did wrong, should I have another version? Any information or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.
Question #2: Once I have safestrap working properly, has customROM installation become possible yet? If yes, a personal step by step approach, or simply being directed to a trusted tutorial would just as good.
Question #3: I am curious what are some of the favored things to do with ones newly rooted phone? I am new to the concept as a whole and would love to "see the sights" if you will.

Welcome to XDA.
I apologize for the inconvenience but this isn't the best place to ask for your device. As you stated you have the N900V, so you should go on over to the Verizon variant of the forums.

Just to update you on your back information. People usually use Towelroot to prevent tripping of KNOX, by doing what you want means you will be permanently destroying your warranty as the KNOX flag will be tripped.

[Q] Help/Questions regarding rooting Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 4.4.2

Hi all,
It has been a few years since I rooted my last Android device and I seem to be having some difficulties in rooting my current Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 running Android 4.4.2.
Please see attached screenshot of my phone Baseband version, build number, etc.
Are there any supported root methods for my device?
How important is the build number/baseband version when attempting to root?
I seem to be able to find root info for similar devices although quoting a different build number etc.
I attempted to use the chain fire auto root and selected the root file for the Qualcomm international and it did flashed in Odin and showed PASS but did not grant SU privileges.
Luckily my phone was fully functional after a hard reset, although I am wondering whether these methods of rooting are still working for my version of Note 3.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
For ease of reference my build number is:
KOT49H.N9005XXUENE3
Is there a possibility that it is not possible to root my SM-N9005 due to the particular build number?
Bump - ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated!
I have attempted to search around for any useful threads, although I am not having any luck.
Can anyone even suggest a method which I could investigate further, or even possibly direct me to an existing thread which may prove useful?
Thanks in advance,
Alex.
Flash latest TWRP to the N9005 through Odin. Then boot in TWRP and flash the latest cf root from chainfire.
http://download.chainfire.eu/352/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
That's how I do it all the time and have no problems.

[Q&A] [Guide][Root] Root Samsung Galaxy Core Prime G360H

Q&A for [Guide][Root] Root Samsung Galaxy Core Prime G360H
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [Guide][Root] Root Samsung Galaxy Core Prime G360H. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Rooting SM-G360H
Thank you very much for the SM-G360H guide.
This is my experience:
I downloaded #1 Odin v3.09 and #2 Root Kernal. After doing everything in the video, the Odin program showed Pass, but at this stage I wasn't rooted. I downloaded #3 iRoot (the .exe for Windows not the apk) and ran that, and I was then rooted (eg, I could use Titanium Backup). Great, Thank you.
Issues:
1. When rebooting my phone, on the screen that shows Samsumg Galaxy Core Prime during reboot, I have a red exclamation mark (!) in the top left corner. This disappears as the boot process continues. Can you tell me what this is... is it an indication that the phone is rooted? There are many threads on how to get rid of it as well as a red triangle, but is it necessary?
2. As mentioned above I downloaded 3 programs. I'm not sure which one caused an additional program to be installed which took over my browser preferences (IE and Firefox), which I could not eliminate via normal program removal. The home page changed to ww,omniboxes, com and seemed to be stuck somewhere in the registry. I had to revert to a previous image of my Windows OS. So watch out for this.
Suggestion:
May be you could include links to the best place to download the 3 files/programs in order to avoid virus/registry entries on PC.
Do you know if there is a CWM or TWRP for our SM-G360H phone?
Thanks.
the red warning mark shows that your system and device has been modified....
means warrany is void ..
but you can flash stock rom via odin and warning mark will be gone.....
and ur phone will be unrooted......
cwm
kindly make cwm
It worked for me .
but a little red exclamation mark appear when I turn on the phone .
Anyway , it seems Universal unroot doesn't work to unroot this device
rooting sm g360h duos
why is step 2 and 3 necessary?
do i need to uninstall the extra's that are installed on the phone by iroot? (as mentioned in other videos? see: How to Root any Android Device in less than 5 minutes with IROOT [HD] on youtube)
are there any risks on leaving those files installed?
thanks in advance!
G360F
Hey do you know if that works on G360F too? I'm guessing it would but since im kinda new to the whole rooting the phone thing i'd be far less concerned if i could get the opinion from someone who has actually done it before
no it will not work for sm g360f.
360f is differnt....it is 4g model with single sim and with snapdragon.

Samsung galaxy core prime rooting
i have followed all the steps in the rooting of my phone.
i ended up with a chines app installed that is useless and i dont know if my phone is corrupted, virus infected....????
i installed a super user on the android device samsung galaxy core prime, but i am now lost on what more to do.
all the software provided seems to point to a chinese product with no english version.
Once u use odin then use iroot for pc it will root and install chinese supersu .Uninstall chinese version with a supersu from playstore and update binary:screwy::thumbup:

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how to root a core prime sm-g360g?
(I would make my own thread but I can't for some reason)
So far I have tried Kingroot iRoot (apk and PC) and towelroot, I have also tried the Odin methods for the other models without success (because of the firmware difference). I have a clean copy of the 4.4.4 firmware if any files are needed from that.
Kind regards

samsung galaxy core prime sm-g360t1
Hi ! Have been a student of xda dev a long time. New to this though, thanks for all your previous help. I just bought the new Metro Samsung Galaxy Core Prime sm-g360t1 running lollipop 5.1.1. The phone comes with options to unlock bootloader and another to jailbreak the phone from metro. This is something I have not seen before, have you? I still can not find a root method or app that will work, any help there?
