[Q] verison, at&t, etc. - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
This is my first post and its probably a stupid question butbi couldn't find an answer using the search feature.
So I was wondering what the go with Version Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4, etc, is? They are the same phone aren't they? So what's the difference.
As I said, probably a stupid question but wanted to satisfy my curiosity. Lol
Thanks,
Matt.

different frequency bands and different bloatware garbage loaded. for the best i recommend you get an exynos 910U taiwan version.
its what i use for at&t when i go to the states. it works well everywhere and has no bloat. quick updates too.

Thanks Zurkx,
I'm not really planning on going to America or anything I was just curious. But I'll keep that in mind

Advice on Galaxy S2- South Korea

Hi, I'm thinking of teaching English in South Korea. I'd be going in maybe 4 or 5 months and was wondering if it is worth it to get the Galaxy S2 or not. I will need to get a laptop but my family might be helping me out with that. I will want to travel to Japan, China, maybe some other countries. I know it uses a SIM card but will it work in these countries as well? Do you think it is worth it? I'll be there for a year. Maybe I should get a cheap phone and maybe get a tablet instead. Any advice would be great.
Is it any kind of substitute for a Camera?
P.S. I would be selling my current Samsung Epic from Sprint to cover a good portion of the cost.
Hello.
I'm korean and please refer my reply.

If you will resident(living) in south korea, you will purchased korea galaxy s2 from SKTelecom or KoreaTelecom contract.
But , in short stay and many country traveling and return to your country to use, i recommend buy the EU galaxy S2.
Any more advise?

I beg to differ!!
The con's you mentioned here aren't much of a problem. Most of the world still uses triband gsm and having a quad band won't do much of good and how many of us really uses mms when we are using emailing or video calling!!
If you see the pro's they is NFC which is gonna be must feature in all smart mobile in future. Next gen samsung mobile is having NFC in all the models. So isn't it cool to have right now than later? well there are lot of apps in android for fm, so having a native fm on mobile is pointless. And DMB is an extra asset too. last but not the least bloatware can be removed in many ways as like rooting
So what do you think guys?

[Q] I want to purchase a 64GB Galaxy S4 with LTE

GT-19505 or Korean version, does it matter?
I want a 64GB! Does anybody know where I can get one?
Oh, can someone tell me what lack of developers mean for Korean version and if I can access apps like I would on GT-19505, I'm from Canada.
They don't exist. Maybe Samsung might announce them.
...and a pony, too

I can tell you off hand that Korea version will come with an extra antenna for viewing their own streamed TV and SMS is limited to 80 chars.
You should be able to install root, CWM but custom Rom would be dependent on whether any developer is gonna work on it because my guess is that many are focused on the international and US variants.
Oh the S4 is available in Korea starting tomorrow.

Noob with "Unlocked Phones"

Hi, so this may sound like a stupid question, but I have searched and searched via google even, and I don't know if im searching the terms incorrectly, or getting incorrect information...
I want to buy a Carrier-Free, Bloatware Free Galaxy S4 (Or 5 when it comes out, or even an HTC One)
I want to use it on AT&T GoPhone with LTE.
I see the different variants only working with AT&T 2G/3G or only H+, or only LTE.
When looking for a bloatware, and carrier free S4, what model should I be looking at?
Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you live in the US since you are talking about AT&T LTE , Only possible answer i can get for you is to get the i9505 (No contract) & then rooting it and removing all the bloatware you do not like.
i9500 does not have LTE therefore i9505 is the most suitable for you
Alternatively You can get i9505 and install a custom rom which basically removes much of the unwanted apps & even then if you want to remove some more bloatware you can always do that.
You will get full and better support in this XDA forum 100% dedicated to AT&T Galaxy S4.

Unfortunately, that's not what I'm looking for. I am not looking for the AT&T variant of the s4, since I would like a carrier free phone. Hence why I was posting in this forum and not the AT&T.

So the i9505 is an unlocked version? Do the unlocked phones also come with bloatware?

I think every S4 is coming with bloatware. Root and remove the bloatware is the only way to get rid of it.
What do you mean with unlocked? The bootloader? In this case you have to look for a I-9505 with android 4.2.2 and firmware older than mh5. (Germany) every newer firmware has a locked bootloader.

What Galaxy S5 version should i buy?

Hi people! I have these versions of the Galaxy S5 available to buy at the same price, all sim-unlocked:
SM-G900A
SM-G900F
SM-G900M
I live in Argentina, and the LTE bands available here are 4 (AWS, 1700) and 28 (APT700, 700 MHz), so both SM-G900A and SM-G900M should connect to 4G.
But i read that the SM-900A has a locked bootloader so i cant upgrade it to Cyanogenmod or other non-official roms, which i will do for sure. In the other hand, the SM-G900F is not compatible with argentinian LTE bands but i read that i can unlock the bands rooting the phone and using QPST.
I will use non-official roms and stock-based modified roms, so, what version should you recommend? i read that SM-G900F is compatible with mostly non-official roms, while SM-G900M is only compatible with certain roms. So, i should buy the SM-G900F and unlock the LTE bands or buy the SM-G900M for the unlocked bands and resign using some roms?
Edit: i have disponible at the same price, the Sm-G901F lte-a version, but there isn't too much info about this version.
Help please! Thanks in advance.
None! I have a galaxy s5 and regret it. Dont buy samsung...
Wifi problems, Android 5.0 ? why not update it... Phone gets ultra hot after 5.0. Lag deluxe.
Samsung is notorious for not updating their phones. They have like 3 million ROMS and all look different. Different functions, icons and layout. Stupid company that doesent deserve anyone's money.
sorry for appearing butthurt, but just fed up with this s****.

Yes. Motorola updates their phones. Nexus is nice too, but Nexus 5 was to old and that's the reason i chose galaxy S5.
I recommend G900F. Samsung's S5 is a great phone! I don't really agree with people talking about the lags, blah blah blah. I have this s5 (G900F) and I love it! Go on and try it, I hope you love it too
Thanks! But what phone i should buy? Should i wait and buy the LG G4?
What are your other options besides samsung? I upgraded from s3 to s5+(sm-g901f) and i have mixed feelings about it: fast smartphone, good camera and display vs unimpressive battery life and hot overall device. Btw i'm on 5.0.2 stock rom.

Thanks, my other options are the LG G4. I think that the SM-G901F don't have the LTE bands of my country :/
Have you tried asking one of your local mobile network operators if the s5+ can connect to lte in your country?

Hi, the customer service is REALLY bad here, but i read the SM-G901F specifications and the bands used here are not compatible. I think i'm getting a LG G4, it's a little more expensive but it have unlockable bootloader and is compatible with all LTE bands, plus not have heating problems.
Go for it! You pay a little more for better camera, specs and know for sure it will work with LTE in your country.

I've been through this before debating which variant packs the most useful features, and I've ended up with a SM-G900T.
It is the T-Mobile version; it has all the LTE bands (compared to sm-g900a, f, and m combined), HSDPA 1700, plus natively unlocked bootloaders. It has been running CM12.1 like a champ, and I love this phone!

Thanks for the answer! Unluckily he SM-G900T version is not available here, only the ones that i listed and the SM-G900H but it's only 3G and have an exynos processor that i don't like haha.

Are there any benefits of flashing unlocked firmware?

I have a sprint galaxy s8, I know already that flashing the firmware of the unlocked version isn't going to unlock my phone, but is there any benefits if I did flash it?

Yes there are. There's some cons too.
Many individuals claim better battery with the unlocked firmware but I saw a small hit tbh. Maybe it's because of the lack of 4x4 and 256QAM.
I personally only use the unlocked firmware because it has a better locking LTE icon that tmobile lol
You can switch SIMs between any carrier
S8 experience
Looking for help on deciding what to do about the note 8. Looking for words of advise from you s8/8+ ppl since you already have experience.
Did not have the note 7 long obviously and honestly did not even realize it was locked down tight. Soooo now i am thinking about buying the international note 8 instead of the us one since i hear it will be able to be rooted. Soooo my questions to you guys
1) what do i lose by buying the international version?
2) what do i gain (other than flsshing) by buying the international verdion.
3) will the international version work on both sprint and tmobile should i decide to switch.
4) what's the best way to buy the international version and what do i beed to look out for. All the s8's on amazon i have seen only appear to work on tmobile.
Thanks for any and all help
