Forgive me, but I unable to find this information anywhere, so I am now asking:
How can one turn a ROM into a Safestrap ROM? For example, it would be great to have a Safestrap-compatible Cyanogenmod, but perhaps this is not possible. XDA developers, please share your knowledge and insight on this and thank you.
There's no such thing as a "Safe strap compatible Rom".
But if you are running safestrap then you need a TouchWiz based Rom, so a cyanogenmod Rom is not possible using safestrap.
and wrong thread lol. he is correct ∆
we have a locked BL so it wont flash the kernel therefore we cant flash an aosp kernel which prevents us from having an aosp rom.. closest you can get to aosp on here is eclipse rom

I'm running the official aokp 4.2.1 rom on my nexus 10. I was wondering if I were to flash say the paranoid android 3.15 rom which is aosp, would I need to do something special when going from aokp to aosp rom's? Also, was wondering how to update TWRP 2.4.4.0 from an older version of TWRP? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even though you could have put a little effort into searching for the answer but since you didn't, I'm here.

I don't want to sound like a jackass but Searching for your problem before making a thread would be great

I know how to flash lol. I just didn't know whether there were different steps that I have to follow for flashing AOKP roms and AOSP roms or whether i would have to flash differently when coming from/ going to one to the other lol. Hope I didn't come off as being an a-hole, just was wondering lol
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 AT&T. An I337 with a locked bootloader. It is running Android 4.3 after I followed the downgrage guide from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50667360
So I am running a baseband version of NB1, and a build number of MK2. Everything I read says to then install Safestrap, and then flash a specific ROM that works with Safe Strap. However, under the Android Original Development, there are a bunch of ROMs that don't need safe strap and it seems like flashing regular ROMs. Why does everything I read state that I can only flash ROMs that work with Safe strap? Do the ROMs listed under Android Original Development all work with Safe Strap? I am very confused here.
More than likely NOTHING in the "Android ORIGINAL development" thread will work for you, and won't work on safestrap. Those are for those of us who got the phone when it came with MDB or MDL Firmwares that were able to use the Loki boot loader bypass. Which in turn let us use CWM or TWRP Custom recoveries. Also allowed us to flash kernels, which most if not all in the ORIGINAL development section will do/need to work.
For you on MK2/ NB1/NC1 you can ONLY use safestrap and its recovery. You CANNOT flash CWM or TWRP. You CANNOT flash kernels. So you need Roms that use the stock kernel. MANY ROM in the " Android Development" forum do work with safestrap. But do your research first. This means ONLY Touchwiz based Roms and possibly the GPE based ROM/s.
So NO Cyanogenmod, AOKP, or Other AOSP based Roms will work for you.

Hey guys I'm interested in flashing my sprint GS4 and was wondering in your opinion what is the best 4.4.2 AOSP ROM. It is very important that this ROM is stable. Thanks

If it is unlocked and your using a GSM sim from another carrier than you got more than just stable rom to worry about. You need to do some additional steps to get dialer and calls working on AOSP but if you are just using it on sprint CDMA than you are fine and can just flash Slim Rom which I think is most stable of all of them. Gummy is great. Another thing you gotta keep in mind is that you should flash the supported gapps that the developer mentions in rom thread because if you flash wrong Gapps version that can cause instability. Slim roms has always been stable for me and use it with small gapps which is just 56mb. Slim roms is actually 4.4.4 which is even better than 4.4.2
Read here for dialer app fix on AOSP unlocked roms Sprint S4.

Sorry, "Best" ROM threads are not allowed on this development site. Members are expected to do the research and read through the ROM threads to decide and pick what "may" be best for them. Bugs and fixes members come across will be found in those threads. Asking opinions like this will only get you a list of what everyone is running...no real information...all of that only comes with research. Best advice anyone can give you is to make a backup and flash. Try one out that you think is best for you for a day or two...don't like it? Flash another. But always always always backup before flashing anything.

Hello,
I am having trouble finding a custom ROM for my Cricket galaxy S4. Model is SGH-I337Z, codename 'jflteaio'. I have TWRP 2.7 recovery installed along with Touch-wiz ROM, Skyfall. But I would really like to have at least one custom ROM for this device. I have looked through the unified section, as well as the AT&T section with no luck for 'jflteaio'. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you all
Dan
I don't know if there are roms specific for that device.
The rom you mention is for a i337 right? Then maybe all the roms from that device work. Just flash them and see if they boot.
If not then you probably need to port them yourself, there are plenty of guides out here that explain how to do that.
Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.
