Does anyone know if there is a way to root the Note 3 if it is on KitKat 4.4.4? I have tried using Odin but it fails. Perhaps I cannot do it with the 4.4.4 build?

Exploits got closed your screwed until they find a new method. And I'm 98% any dev working on it is saving exploits for 5.0 not 4.4.4 so until that drops I doubt 4.4.4 will get root after the fact and the only way you might have root on a 4.4.4 note 3 is if it is preroot or a dev unit.

You're stuck on 4.4.4 until a root method is found. You cannot Odin back to 4.4.2 since new bootloader blacklisted the 4.4.2 kernel.
No such luck yet on root capabilites unfortunately ): I'm hoping the dev don't completely give up on this!!!

Stock verizon note3 sm900v
Android 4.4.4
I'm not finding much in ways of options for root currently. Is it possible to flash my phone back to 4.4.2, root once there, then sideload 4.4.4? Using something like Odin maybe?

Maybe this VIDEO helps you. It's for one sm-n900a.
Perhaps it would if i could find the corresponding files for the n900v. Any ideas where i can find them?
i found everything but this file:N900VVRUCNC4_N900VVZWCNC4_VZW.zip
Update
After some extensive searching i found the files and hope to attempt to downgrade according to video posted ^ with my SM-N900V. I found a great site for FW versions for anyone encountering this problem in the future: galaxynote3update
update
This method does not work on Verizon. I found the Verizon equivalent files and attempted this but got a SW REV CHECK fail when trying to download 4.4.2 FW. ATT must not have a version check in theirs. I have exhausted every method out there. Hoping someone comes up with a one click root for this configuration soon cuz not having root sucks
Did you ever succeed?
I just received a new Note 3 from my warranty company. I was hoping it would have 4.4.2 on it
but it has the same version as yours. I really could use root.
Any luck with your phone?
Hey you all
I have found a few pages on rooting our Verizon note 3 4.4.4. I do not know how to attach the link but if you look it up in XDA Verizon Note 3 you will find it there. Thanks to designgears.

Upon further research I found out that if your phone is n900vvrudnk1 it is not compatible to root. It seems that sammy has us under lock-down for now. If we upgrade to the lollipop 5.0 will this upgrade boot loaders also?
Just updated from android 4.4.4 to 5.o on my Verizon note 3 sm-n900v in hope that 5.0 would have a root exploit. Can I root the Verizon note 3 5.0???

As of right now, no. There IS however the possibility of returning to NK1 from 5.0, so if something gets released for NK1 and not 5.0, then that's an option.

Are you on 4.4.4? If not and you have SS, you can flash Jasmine Rom. Which is really just a stock lollipop Rom with root.

Nothing past 4.4.2 can be rooted as of now, you cannot downgrade to an earlier version to root.

I just got my note 4 today and I was looking around on these forms for a way to root my phone but I can't seem to find it anywhere. If there is a way to root it can you please show me the thread or if not I guess I'll have to wait. I'm using 5.0.1 right now.
After looking around some more chainfires cf root works on the note 4 n910u but only version 4.4.4. So if I use Odin to flash the stock 4.4.4 version and then root that would that work?

There is no way to root the Verizon Note 4 on 4.4.4 or 5.0.1. CF Auto Root will not work. You're going to have to wait until a method is found.
Please guys tell me there's a way to root the galaxy s5 for att smg 900a on lollipop version 5.0. If there's not should I upgrade to the latest firmware?
Thankd
You can't root g900a on Lollipop as of right now. AT&T locked the bootloader when they released 5.0 BUT.. you can downgrade your phone to KitKat. Then root it using Towelroot root and then flash a prerooted lollipop rom using flashfire Here is a link with a bunch of people that downgraded there g900a to KitKat and how they did it and worked around everything: http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s5/489071-tutorial-downgrade-samsung-galaxy-s5-5-0-4-4-kitkat-6.html This will help you out in starting the root process on your phone. You can also Google "Downgrade g900a KitKat".

This is not true. If you are running completely stock lollipop either becuase you purchased the phone with it on it, or you took the ota it is not possible to downgrade to KitKat, you will brick your phone. If you were rooted on KitKat, you can update to a prwrooted lollipop, which I am running now for example, and using that method allows you to downgrade as well with no issues so long as you don't take the ota. This only applies to the g900a.

Also not true.. You can downgrade your phone from 5.0 to KitKat DEPENDING on the version of bootloader. That will make or break the whole possibility of downgrading. Check the link I posted and read through the forum. It has been done by multiple people but the general consensus is if your phone's bootloader is past a certain version you're screwed for now and if you can't downgrade and root but you want to in the future I would suggest not updating for a while until there is a method of rooting your current version bootloader.

I did check the link you posted and only found people that tried it on a g900a unable to downgrade. There was no time that you could go from stock L to KK on the g900a.

To be quite honest dwade. You can save yourself a lot of headaches and stress by putting your phone on craigslist and getting yourself the g900f unlocked that way you can avoid all of these processes and the risk of bricking your phone lol If you're looking to root and get into modding your phone, AT&T & Verizon phones are the worst when it comes to locking things down.
Troubles rooting 900a with 4.4.4
I had problems using towelroot on a ATT branded 900a with 4.4.4. Any tips or links that can help me root to get rid of the Hotspot block?
Thanks in advance

It's certainly the case for the F variant that towelroot only works on 4.4.2 that was compiled before the end of June 2014......If there is a build that matches these conditions for the A variant, towelrooting may be possible.....If not, I guess you'll have to try CF Root or similar...
Edit.....check this thread......
