I just wanted to give you a first impression of my first skin for WA/WAD, based on pictures about the new Meizu M8. It's not finished, because 've so many things to learn, e.g. how to skin the dialer, PocketCM...

i was seriously gonna come here tonite and see if anyone had done, or was going to do an M8 skin or just make the icons. i admire some of the slick look and functionality of the iPhone, but i didnt want to just put an exact clone on my phone and have people thinking i wished i had an iPhone instead. i will definetly keep an eye on this thread.

Here's a little update, i changed some buttons on the titlebar and removed the title-text. After pressing the icon for Music another menu will appear.
Some questions:
1. How can i export the themes for WA and WAD to share them?
2. Who can help me in skinning the standard WM6 dialer?
3. Who can help me in skinning PocketCM?

So yes And yea about the Mp3 Fix.. it really annoyed me.. i guess alot of ppls dont even heard of it.. so putting it into the rom will make ppls happy with another thing except the rom

Im thinking about add update checker to roottools and clock color changer. Suggest me 10 colors in hex to do the services. I will have an update this weekend i guess. And post that as 1st version here.

That thing just removes the android BG in lockscreen. Good idea about make a GB lockscreen option.
I'd definately like to have a ASOP Like way of all this .... to get rid of motoblur as much we can. .since motoblur is just annoying as hell.. and the Lock of it is like the most crappy i have seen..
Also a ASOPLike Theme would be great (Or is it the MM2 Stock theme in the theme list??.. i didnt test yet.. i thought MM2Stock theme is motoblur ****)

PS: The Dialer and Contacts apps they still look like Motoblur.. are they even stock?? (Sorry never saw stock apps before (cept music player)

Dialer and contacts are blur themed apps. MM2 is the stock blur theme. Today i will upload a new theme, looks more stock. And NO blur lockscreen.

I got the script done. Check/download/install. All in one and automatic. Just need an update to use it on.
Very nice .. I think after your next Update I will flash my MM2 with your Rom ..

I already use it.. and will keep it on my Droid ^^.. awsome work you did there!.. finally we get custom!!!.. ill start theming..and pick the best themes i can find.. and try to make my DarkEdge port work with App themes aswell

Greetings, I am sure I could discover all about MIUI if I looked hard enough, but I thought it might be useful if we had our own Nexus S place where someone like me who has never used or seen MIUI in action could hear from those with previous experience.
I understand its very different from normal android but in which important ways? Are widgets the same? Is the market the same? Will we still have Voodoo sound and colour? Does the app drawer still apply? You see where I am driving at!

I have very limited experience with miui I'll admit but I can answer a few of your questions. Most things are the same however it has its own customer launcher and home replacement for which there is no app drawer. All apps are placed on homescreens for the minuit launcher however you can use adw or lpp and have an app drawer back.

Well its just like any other ROM, kernels will have to be customized for it. I'm sure someone will release a voodoo sound/color equipped kernel for it soon.
Its definitely a switch but one worth giving a shot. I tried it on my Evo but couldn't get Swype working and at the time I was more in love with Swype then I was with any ROM so I gave up after only giving it a few hours. I plan to give it a much more fair chance this time but its a little difficult getting things set up when half of everything is in chinese lol

Yeah I was following that thread. I think my questions can only be answered by trying it out. When its in English as my Chinese is not up to much lol. I got a feeling I wont like miui though. But we shall see

Lol I assume your chinese comment is sarcasm and I can assure you its usable in chinese. I do not know a single chinese character but for the most part you can work your way through everything. The one thing I'm still looking for is Haptic Feedback because I hate it and its on by default <.<
I personally love MIUI. The lockscreen, when they get it, looks fantastic and nice. The menu screen is extremely different. If you look at the pics you'll see what it looks like. That takes some time getting used. All the apps are on the homescreen now, similar to iOS. You can create folders to organize them. You can also add all the widgets you normally get from the market, on there. The messenger has been modified, it a very good way. It looks really good. Everything else is the same.

From what I understand they don't have any intention of bringing the old lockscreen back. I'm not sure if they will be doing a new one but, again this is my understanding, we're stuck with the AOSP lockscreen.

one thing that strikes me regarding the original MIUI ROM being chinese natively... is that AOS is supposed to be roughly international No?
even if it installs as Chinese, you should be able to go into settings and change it to English?
like when i change English to Spanish and Vice versa in the stock ROM or some other Custom ROMs

MIUI is fully customized. And no this isn't the case, its set to English by default and the MIUI ROM is a hybrid of English and Chinese.
The English language pack is now available (~30MB) in the MIUI thread.
Simply, it is an iOSish Android ROM.

it wasn't that bad. the icons in settings were pretty relevant.
its fine now. just the notification power widgets is still in chinese.
only complaint i really at this point is white background with white text.
will probably go back to CM7 when the next nightly comes. i prefer having all black to maximize super amoled screen

That, the download issue and the lockscreen are my complaints. Not going to lie...without the custom lockscreen MIUI is CM7 with a custom launcher <.<

my engadget, photobucket and some other apps FC'd on me so i reverted back to CM7. probably going back to it on the next release and see how it is.
for some reason, my ADW EX settings doesn't get restored when im on MIUI but works for CM7 and other 2.3 based roms. weird

Download issue can be solved by switch the download mode to start download under any network.
Open Downloads app -> Press Menu button -> Select the right one to switch to start download under any network
Refer to the MIUI forum, since the new UI is still under development, so the custom lockscreen not integrated yet on the first release
Cant really find the "Downloads app" setting. Have a tip or an image of where u mean?

Damn! Got the FC on engadget to.
I am using Joy OS v2 at the moment, I wanted to dig google for another ios-ish ROM for atrix, Unfortunately I couldn't find one.
But I found iOS v5 ROM

I believe that's the exact thing most people tend to avoid here. My opinion...
If you want iOS, you should buy an iPhone... Why even bother with Android?
That said, MIUI is somewhat iOS-ish in my opinion.

Do not attack! guns down guys,
I just want some difference android is an open source OS, so I have it and love it cz You can do any change on it you want, you can mod it anything.
I am not going to buy an iphone with that prices and such software limitations.
But I like changing the UI, maybe I love cosmetics so I just asked if someone can port.

Rom is Fine, Better then Joy OS v2 in Development Section but still Joyos updated version I suppose.
I had to delete some chinese system Apps. (system app uninstaller)
I am using Espier Launcher as Launcher.(better ios look)
I am using Espier Locker and Status Bar(again better, disabled Lock Screen From Tablet Tweaks otherwise U've lockscreen twice)
Firstly Rom Starts Chinese and asks for superuser permission I guess I pressed correct button I guess. it didnt ask again.
Then U have to find and change it To English, Delete Chinese Apps Everything install Espier Launcher or use it's own Everything Cool.

More Feedback and a thing which I really lİked.
-Search Button of atrix Works as Power Button, same as it(long press power menu, touch shut down screen), long pressing Menu button does bring the keyboard and search function.(like in Apollo, you long press Menu button, Write The Name of Song u want. btw Default apps are edited so apollo etc. looks ios-ish)
Another Difference From JoyOS v2 I see: Pop Messages like blablabla OKAY Dismiss Cancel Boxes Are not looking Android style, they are also changed.
Room Doesn't have any Freezes, Heat Problems Nothing just a Perfect daily Rom after U set it up and delete chinese apps I Really liked it.
I'll give screenshots when I am able to at the moment I don't have my phone.
I am using Espier Locker but Rom's own locker maybe better I am not sure. you've to try this.
If I am not wrong Rom's own locker shows MP3 Player, Espier Doesnt but I am not sure about if Phone's locker have the answer feature or Missed call feature that ios has.

this is not ios ish but I use launcher8 on my galaxy note from time to time. nice windows8ish look

X2 doesnt have a customer rom now, so I made some changes on my X2.I hide the state bar and install a swipe notifications. now my x2 is beautiful and neat.
Hope x2 use more beautiful customer rom soon.
(Ps. I'm a freshman in China. so my English maybe poor. hope you can understand)

X2 does have a Custom ROM but it's stock:
