You would download Wicked, flash that, before you boot, flash your kernel that is made for YOUR device. It will work.
But can u do that with any ROM or carrier with my at&t s4?

[Q] Switching from Hyperdrive to Cyanogenmod

Hello,
I would like to switch from Hyperdrive to Cyanogenmod. I did a lot of research but still don't feel confident about doing this without a confirmation.
Can someone please confirm the link below is the most updated version for my Verizon Note 3? What is a nightly build?
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=hltevzw&type=nightly
Also, can I use Safestrap to install Cyanogenmod which is what I used to install Hyperdrive?

Safestrap question.

Hello I did a search and can't get a straight answer. I have the att gs4 4.2.2 rooted and I'm wondering what version of safestrap I need. I see mixed answers like 3.65, 3.71, 3.72 and I'm not quite sure which is it. Help will be much appreciated!

You need to search and read. It depends which version of 4.4.2 you're on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49562527

Check in settings/ more/ about device towards the end what build you have. If you are on 4.2.2 you dont need safestrap any recovery can do. If you are on 4.4.2 its a different story you have a whole different process before you get safestrap. Safestrap use is for locked bootloaders that came after builds NB1 and NC1.
Since you are already rooted there is no use for safestrap. If you are looking to flash custom roms check the ones are compatible with your present build.

If you're on mdb/mdl firmware all you need to do is put on a custom recovery to flash roms. This should help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42320391

See the second post in the link. You will need safestrap if you're on mf3. But you might want to consider updating your firmware to mk2 then see the first link I gave you. That way you'll be able to flash 4.4.2 roms

Upgrading from 4.2 to 4.4.. Will I lose root & LTE?

So pretty much as title states.. just wanted to find out whether I'd have to re-root the phone and if I would lose LTE (I think I would lose LTE, but not sure about root)? Also, overall, is 4.4 worth upgrading to?
thanks lots!
IMHO update is definitely worth it. You'll lose root and LTE. But you can easily just reroot and flash a LTE radio.

This device is so easy to root don't worry about it. Do you have a custom recovery? If so find the update.zip. If you don't try the ota. If you've changed system files out probably won't work but if you haven't it will

i actually used to have 4.3 on this nexus, but reverted back to 4.2 because when i did it, you couldn't have LTE with 4.3.. so you saying you can flash the radio with 4.4 now?

Just left the cave huh? Until a proper root method is released you can flash Jasmine 5.0, but be careful! Any mistakes and you'll lose root.
P.S. this is the wrong section for Q&A thread......
